[0:09] the kids are almost in bed the adult beverages are certainly poor it is time for new dad gaming a show about fatherhood gaming and new fathers trying

[0:18] to figure out their gaming lives my name is trevor and i have a much awake six month old my name is gavin i have a

[0:28] i’m not going to rub it in four months old yeah super super sleeper four month old my name’s jeff i got two sleep five and

[0:36] a two year old two and a half uh this it’s is the level of battle

[0:46] like it’s not just a matter of um like we everybody’s suffered with a case where they can’t fall asleep or even something like what maybe they

[0:54] don’t want to but like the effort that he puts in to stay awake like he’s falling asleep and then it’s at the last money like he kicks and like

[1:02] just like no no not yet and just like he’s fighting like you

[1:07] need to sleep you probably want to sleep why aren’t you sleeping and just like how much effort goes into not sleeping is astounding and that’s

[1:18] true and that that’s what we’re working against is just it’s not even just the not sleeping it’s the willful not

[1:26] sleeping and you’re looking at him like what is it it’s four in the morning like what is what is it what is this

[1:33] what is life what’s the meaning of like man you get into some weird places like at four in the morning when your baby’s not

[1:42] sleeping like just did your mind goes off it is trying to just maintain some shred of sanity when this kid is not doing it like i’m

[1:52] going into like the eve i’m trying to find out we’re trying to reason why he would be like this from an

[1:58] evolutionary standpoint it’s like well i guess the animals are sleeping and if he wakes me up like a natural alarm clock i can better feed him by hunting

[2:08] yeah that cool baby go to bed baby could have been i think that would end up of a lot of people going out into the wilderness

[2:16] trying to hunt and then failing because they’re so tired just fall asleep in a river trying to catch a fish or something

[2:23] it’s like it’s like prehistoric couple arguments because it’s okay you stay with him i’m gonna go hunt and really he just goes off to like the next couple

[2:30] trees and takes a nap standing up against it just

[2:42] yeah there’s little rays of hope and you know there’s usually like a decent four or five hour one at the beginning he was sick recently too which that’s not his

[2:50] own fault so his nose is plugged up wasn’t going well but uh man it is uh they were chuckling and laughing the

[2:57] other night with where’s the prospect of having another one looking at this one it’s like oh

[3:06] yeah man that’s like once you get past this like it’s like when a pow escapes like does

[3:13] he think about going back you’re still young though right it’s still like an eight would you say eight

[3:21] months doesn’t mean you’re at six six six months so yeah that’s why people wait a couple years because they they forget

[3:30] like what was it like oh i love the cuddly baby let’s do it again and then they get another one like oh god that was that was literally my thought

[3:37] is there has to be enough time for the pain to have dulled yeah and for him to be old enough where you’re like oh i wish you were tiny i know

[3:47] let’s do it all over again yeah why did i do this just uh had twins and they just got like one foul suit just boom done

[3:57] yep we got one of each we’re happy we’re done of course they’re not sleeping at all

[4:04] yeah so i think we bring this up every week but like i still think like that one time pain i’d still almost have preferred it

[4:11] like i know how much worse it would be so much worse and it would never minimize that but the thought that after the eight

[4:18] months or the year that’s it you don’t got to go back to that baby world i mean there’s something to that

[4:26] i still think you should do maybe just a short podcast at 4 a.m with your deep thoughts about life and just get that out there

[4:37] and then play them back when you’re going to have another kid or at least want to think about doing it and be like uh what were those days like

[4:44] oh yes the 4am running around the house like a butterfly kind of thing yeah make like a time capsule warning to feature stuff

[4:54] oh i just yeah like it goes man it goes your head is in a bad place that night at night but uh

[5:03] so quick uh quick opinion guys did you i showed you both the video of the

[5:10] baby proof simulator who’s your daddy crazy thoughts gentlemen for those for those unaware i highly suggest you watch the

[5:20] trailers and that’s again baby proof simulator who’s your daddy it is a two-player multiplayer game where a one person takes the role of the [ __ ]

[5:29] the hapless father as it’s proposed and the baby the player as the baby is trying to kill themselves so

[5:37] they are from the baby’s perspective crawling around the house there are such methods as eating garbage there is falling down the stairs there

[5:45] is turning on the oven and going into the oven meanwhile the father player is running around desperately trying to like turn

[5:53] switches and move the baby to safe places hide the windex so they can’t eat it is it’s horrible it’s a horrible game the first clip that sold me on it was

[6:07] it’s like the baby’s crawling up to the oven and he looks up and reaches and just turns it all the way up and then just slowly crawls

[6:16] into the oven and it’s like yes that baby would totally do that if it was possible i’m telling you well there it’s it

[6:23] sounds like there’s a lot of room for improvement too right like the difficulty setting could you could introduce another kid right a different

[6:30] age so you have the toddler you have the baby and then maybe a teenager running around and

[6:36] maybe you know the dad gets like maybe there’s like perks right and then like detriments to the dad so like his back hurts so he only moves like half speed

[6:43] and the baby drank some coke so he gets to move faster or something i don’t know but that are the dads like uh getting angry and you’re not allowed to

[6:53] get too angry oh you could drink a beer to lower the anger but now you lumber a little bit it’s not quite

[7:00] as easy time of day maybe it’s 4 a.m it’s just hallucinating you think it’s a baby but it’s really just a bag on the floor

[7:09] like cradling the cat babies your eyes have been gouged out by the cat lose half vision i think they finish this game

[7:20] yeah you got to pitch some ideas i will say i really do think if we ever put together our game streaming or live stream of a game together like

[7:27] that will definitely have to be on the docket i would love to see how some of you would act as a baby oh that’d be easy i’d go straight for

[7:36] that windex it’s so colorful it looks like kool-aid it’s like and it’s messed up

[7:45] that there is you could literally take a kool-aid a windex and like there’s this weird blueberry drink

[7:54] that i saw the other day too like just put them in the glasses side by side and you’d have no idea which one is which

[8:00] like it’s the one that stinks i don’t put some gatorade i don’t know if you’d notice that much i do want to know who’s playing that

[8:11] game though like is it is it actually parents is it dads that are playing this game that play a dad all day and then they yeah nobody play that online

[8:19] be like a postal worker coming home and being like you know mail carrier simulator 5000 it’s like finally

[8:29] see i could i could see it as a i could see doing it as a release because especially after a 4 a.m session which

[8:35] is like i’m a baby i’m going to jump in on oven because i’m a [ __ ] it’s like

[8:45] you’re just venting on your kid via a video game exactly it’s perfect it’s instead of just like shooting

[8:52] raiders it’s much more specific to like i’m a dumb baby look at the stairs

[9:03] i think you’re sold i think that’s it you’re going to play this let us know i think largely though i’ve heard some cynics kind of mention

[9:11] that a lot of games seem to be built for youtubers and it’s something like you’re a little bit like your slenderman although that

[9:18] one kind of came out before it but there was a million copies of that there was the other ones that kind of lean on easy jump scares

[9:26] and the main thrust behind the development that hopefully some of the popular youtube streamers would jump on it because they

[9:32] could you know do kind of an overacting reaction to something when it jumps out and then like ha ha look at this guy’s super scared and then accordingly

[9:41] hopefully sell some copies i would say that there’s a decent chance hey it’s probably built by a dad at 4 a.m and like 4 a.m and was just angry at

[9:48] his baby otherwise it could be perhaps it’s a bit of youtube fodder but um this is kind of funny

[9:58] that could be it was made like at a game jam session on a weekend kind of deal you know not to say that it only looks

[10:04] like a weekend’s worth of work those jams a lot of work gets done in the weekend

[10:10] but it has that sort of like goofy idea that a small team thought of quickly and they’re like let’s just do it they just did it and that was it

[10:20] um and then maybe spend some time after the jam you know adding more stuff into it yeah yeah and to clarify like i’m definitely positive on it i think it’s

[10:28] hilarious like that’s the some of the funniest stuff i’ve seen in a long time it’s a really clever mechanic to basically

[10:36] one you’re it’s like a defense game but instead of defending against the threat you’re defending against a

[10:43] self-inflicted threat on the other player and i like that sort of thing it’s like the other players purposefully trying to

[10:53] injure themselves and you’re trying to not let that happen and i think that’s a neat sort of asymmetrical gameplay mechanic that

[11:02] that’s pretty cool um and then also when you just added the fact that babies are at times somewhat self-destructive

[11:10] naturally

[11:17] this was kind of funny like i don’t i don’t know if it just happened or like that was part of the real um they chose a mechanic where one’s trying

[11:24] to end the life the other ones trying to save it and that’s interesting but like the fact of how absolutely

[11:30] true to life that is that ultimately the baby babies seem to try very hard to hurt themselves and as a parent you’re just running around like oh no oh no

[11:38] don’t over there no not over there please don’t a lot of it’s just running around so the uh

[11:44] that what a interestingly perfect matchup from game mechanic to real life i i kind of see it paired with like uh

[11:54] octodad like that game mechanic where you you had to move each hand kind of individually as a control so you can’t quite get them in time and you’re

[12:04] stumbling over tables and chairs and knocking over stuff that would be funny too just uh even like with a surgeon simulator where yeah

[12:14] you’re trying to save a life but the mechanics are trying to prevent it from being saved so rather than battling like an opponent

[12:20] you’re just battling broken physics yeah and that was made in like a game jam kind of place too right they polished it up

[12:29] after that was really neat i could not save anybody it was horrible at that game never once saved i never heard

[12:37] would take her to lung trying to fix an arm or something it’s yup i think one time i accidentally stabbed

[12:45] myself with uh anesthetic oh yeah and it gets all hazy stuff yeah i just i had to stop and quit the game i couldn’t play anymore i was going

[12:54] to get sick because it never wears off it’s like that permanently you’re just like oh no absolutely

[13:03] yeah so i kind of give a bit of a hint to how my fatherhood week went but um you know let’s go around the rest of the room gavin how was your

[13:10] week in fatherhood and gaming oh fatherhood pretty good um some good hangouts we put up the tree uh i did most of the i kind of see it

[13:19] behind me um did most of the decorating after she had gone to bed so when we got

[13:26] up in the morning we turned all all the lights on the train and stuff to get a reaction and she had this like big like wide eye like what is that thing look on

[13:34] her face so that was pretty cute um yeah that doctor’s appointment on monday

[13:41] stuff like that uh all going pretty good she’s moving and grooving and making all

[13:48] sorts of noises we had a bath tonight she’s not almost fond of baths you know she likes the bath

[13:55] but she doesn’t like after where she’s like cold and wet and now so we have to like get her dried and and

[14:02] warm and dry as quick as possible or else she just goes nuts and of course when she goes nuts the dog decides he wants to howl

[14:10] because he needs to be included in everything and that includes making noise so it’s uh it can make for a somewhat uh

[14:23] noisy evening um but she’s clean and she’s dry and she’s warm now so all’s well

[14:30] as far as gaming goes um i took a break from just cause uh just because of the load times oh no i heard about that oh no just just

[14:43] let that sit for a while i want you to think about what you just said dad jokes um

[14:51] no that’s the thing there’s like and actually it’s probably a good topic to quickly touch on is

[14:56] when you have like you know 30 minutes to an hour to squeeze in a little bit of gaming while somebody’s down for a nap uh

[15:05] and when sixty percent of that time is loading oh i don’t know that bad i heard it can get

[15:12] bad yeah um and like their previous titles were good um as far as low times like standard

[15:20] open world stuff where you’re like yeah it’s an open world it’s gonna take a while to load just be patient but even in this like the load times between

[15:28] like if you fail at a mission or you die to reload the mission was equivalent to the initial load of the

[15:36] game world so it was like every time you would have to restart a mission it was like that first boot-up game load

[15:44] as opposed to just reloading a save and uh i found that it was just especially too when i’m still getting

[15:52] used to the mechanics they’re a little bit different than before and i’m sure all girls will love them but that learning curve

[15:59] also includes me smashing into clip sides and being shot to death when that happens frequently while i’m learning and then that’s penalty with a

[16:08] five minute low time yeah it’s like it’s just too rough so it’s been placed gently on the shelf until they patch it

[16:18] um i’ve got some faith that will patch it i hope they patch it um because it’s a fun game it’s a really fun game

[16:26] i mean seeing some of that man seeing some of the clips like it like i i’ve been adamant that i don’t need to buy this one because i’ve

[16:33] definitely bought like kind of my i’m in i’ve got my budget so it’s like no more for a little while so i’m gonna wait until that one drops down but man seeing

[16:41] some of the clips online like that thing looks something just this the freedom and some of the things that people are pulling

[16:46] off like that looks like a riot like an absolute blast it’s really really fun like it’s i’m so excited to get to play it but

[16:54] i’m gonna give it a break until the best settles um i think they rush to meet the christmas release because the holiday season that’s

[17:03] everybody’s buying games i think realistically the development cycle they probably were better suited for like a february march release

[17:12] um because the game’s really close i think it’s just some uh like memory cleaning issues that are happening that are causing a lot of load

[17:20] times so those will get resolved um there’s no like gain breaking bugs

[17:27] for at least on the ps4 it’s strictly just like it just takes a really long time to load

[17:34] it it plays great um on the ps4 there’s no stuttering it’s running at 1080p it runs really smooth not too many frame rate dips

[17:42] um but yeah just load times are way too long for me uh when i’ve only got so much time to play so i’ve been back to fallout for a bit

[17:49] i hadn’t started up um wolfenstein or uh what’s that uh the order um well my boot those up later but right

[18:00] now all that’s doing the trick so um and it’s been very work’s been super busy i got a i had a rush job and that

[18:08] was it was as it would sound it was a rush job and i’m happy with how it turned out

[18:15] the the the work i submitted to the project looks nice so i’m really happy about that um you know there’s uh like with any

[18:23] project there’s always just especially rush projects you’re always like ah let’s just okay yeah oh all right let’s let’s just get it done

[18:30] let’s go let’s go go go uh so it’s that nervousness of making sure you get the deadline um and then some other projects have just

[18:37] been they’ve been going well but it’s just you know a lot of work so not much game time you know i want to spend time with

[18:44] family and and uh you know uh get my work done and unfortunately the

[18:51] controller took a backseat a little bit this week but now it does settle on the rush job i might be able to get back to them

[18:58] yes that’s a good place to be better busy than board they say exactly yeah so jeffy uh yourself how was your week in fatherhood and gaming uh not bad

[19:08] i good thanks so gavin sorry probably

[19:15] i can only pull that joke once too i don’t know if i’ve misfired like every week same joke sorry how was your week in gaming and fatherhood um it

[19:24] was bad no it was good i had a company christmas party so the kids went to that and it was pretty awesome they were always happy to see santa and they get a

[19:34] little presents um but the the funniest part was is they bring like a uh fire trucks out so they have uh

[19:42] vehicles so they have a snow plow a fire truck like the actual ones and the kids can go around go in it and uh a big bus or whatever

[19:51] and the on the fire truck my five-year-old decided to talk the ear off of the firefighter so we were out there

[19:59] for 40 minutes with questions like what’s your biggest host what’s your smell so do you have any hidden hoses where does they hook up

[20:07] where’s the water come from why is the water coming that way where’s another do you have an axe is there an ax in there do you use the axe

[20:14] will you come to my house if it burns what’s your name so that kind of like you know

[20:21] the guy deserves a promotion for dealing with all these questions that you come to my house yeah

[20:31] can i call you personally there’s a fire i start a fire yeah the firefighter looks around it’s like uh

[20:38] no i’m not gonna come you gotta burn it this is it you ask me two too many questions and it’s always why like why

[20:47] why is that why do you do it like that same with like they showed them the jaws of life why why would you have to cut a car i

[20:53] don’t get it and you can’t really go too into reality for them like oh no you know if someone’s hurt in the car and you can’t

[21:00] yeah they’re bleeding out and no you know the car is crushed then you might have to snip through it so they

[21:07] did a good job it was fun um we seem to lost gavin but we’ll continue show must go on oh there you go yep just

[21:16] for me then can you can you see him i don’t know if i can help you gavin speaking hi no

[21:22] i think it’s just a smooth jazz voice might need to pipe up a little bit there gavin they’re risky

[21:32] it’s all just a ruse i want you to wake up your baby so you’re gonna experience my pain can you scream into the mic

[21:40] we’ll try that do you have a symbol let’s symbol it up it’s an old audio trick yeah

[21:48] um as for gaming uh still in the witcher 3 and i was following i think they’re announcing new dlc for that next year

[21:56] they said they’re gonna um support it for the next two years with dlc so i think i got my work cut out ahead of me um

[22:05] and then i saw and possibly will download final fantasy 7 again on ps4 because it comes with a theme

[22:14] that i want and there’s a sale on now because they’re pushing the remaster a final fantasy 7 which will probably be

[22:23] the third or fourth time so i actually had a question on that for you so you you bought it for ios right ios

[22:31] steam original and now possibly ps4

[22:37] we’ll cover that in a second for the ios one i saw i think it was a coverage of the ps4 version where you could just turn off encounters yes and

[22:48] then speed it up does that exist on ios or is ios just easy mode ios has no encounters and then like god mode basically

[22:57] i think it’s like uh you can’t die or something man i really thought about it and the thought of going just through the game and experiencing it and not

[23:05] worrying about one of my biggest like weights about thinking about doing it again was just the grind because i

[23:11] remember sitting outside of any of the cities and just like running in circles to get encounters yeah to level up and just the thought of like

[23:18] doing that stuff again killed me but man they i read a bit more into the easy mode and the no encounter mode and the thought of just

[23:27] burning through and just enjoying the story and taking that in again for a second time like actually really enticed me yeah i was thinking of

[23:34] picking up the ios version although i think it’s like 16 bucks yeah wait for a sale i think i got it almost like four bucks cheaper or something so a little

[23:42] bit more easy to take yeah but the ps4 version adds a couple new sheets into it i think it you can have like uh instant limit breaks and stuff like that

[23:52] so you can get into battles and then just kill everything to get the experience and then continue on right and speed as well

[24:00] but yeah the no encounters thing has helped out on the ios version if you need to get to you can always save it like anywhere

[24:07] so you don’t have to necessarily get your save point but it helps like if you just want to get through a cave or something and you

[24:13] you know the way but you well either your memories failed you or you’re running into too many battles so it does come in handy but yes it will be like

[24:21] the fourth time i’ve bought this game because of my memories this is a very powerful tool totally is such a powerful marketing tool

[24:35] yeah it’s like that’s how michael bay is still you know oh shots fired poor guy

[24:44] poor baby poor guy yeah kidding i really uh i try not to be too negative because like it’s easy enough to like just bring

[24:52] things down but like transformers for was like with without without rhetoric people throw things

[24:59] around a lot and i legitimately think through a lot of movies i’ve seen like i think trans no not transformers 4 was the worst movie i’ve seen

[25:07] like i was just so there’s no weight to it like i don’t know why what’s what are you doing now and now you have to go here and not not

[25:14] a matter of like i couldn’t follow it like i i got the bits but it’s just like this these guys are here to

[25:21] rectify some great robotic wrong that’s happened in universe and you’re just gonna say it once and i hope that takes and now i’m invested in that

[25:30] like remember a car drop kicked an agent like i remember like the guy is so good at driving he’s able to aim

[25:38] the car’s tire at his face and it drop kicked him and it’s just like i know that it’s supposed to be cool but that’s silly

[25:46] and he’s getting it’s supposed to be i mean we’re talking about like cars that turn into robots talking robots for god’s sakes and yet somehow

[25:54] having this car which isn’t a transformer dropkick a guy’s face was just like all right that’s no that’s stupid

[26:02] that’s just that’s that’s your the the full suspension of your disbelief that’s when it snaps you’re

[26:09] just like yep it’s pretty early on too and it’s just like oh no oh no that was the thing ruined transformers ruined it oh i just i i did

[26:18] you a favor yes there’s no there’s no benefit to it man it made tons man i’ve made tons of

[26:24] money if i can produce something that an unknown unknown father can go into a podcast and rant saying it’s the worst he’s ever seen and it pulls 300 million

[26:34] across the world i’d be doing just fine it’s all the fancy explosions it’s like it’s it’s the adult equivalent of jingling keys like

[26:44] it’s just there’s no narrative substance to it it’s just kind of

[26:50] set piece hot glue the set piece talk move to set piece but there’s like but that’s like the expense

[26:58] i like that they just it’s opiate for the masses just turn your brain off and watch the pretty explosions that’s kind of okay i will say like i’ve

[27:06] heard and unfortunately i can’t know maybe one of you guys can verify but like with uh the expendables oh yeah see i’ve heard that like it’s

[27:14] going there no like i’ve heard that it is dumb it is explosions but like it’s so shallow in its purpose like it’s like

[27:22] we’re here to blow stuff up yeah you go yeah yeah first one it’s not self-important i think that’s

[27:28] the problem with the transformers movies is they have this sort of like we’re really like

[27:35] fate of the world important and it’s like with something like the expendables are like just yeah i’m gonna e-break a smart car off of a roof

[27:44] this is the same reason that um with the fast and the furious movies they are successful despite their ludicrous

[27:53] uh nature um yes i did that um wow two dad jokes in the episode

[28:02] they they because they don’t take themselves too seriously and they’re never like we’re the only things standing between

[28:09] humanity and extinction they’re just like yeah we want to do this thing and we gotta get revenge on these people or steal

[28:16] this thing or do whatever like it’s pretty basic motivations for the characters is they

[28:23] never have the weight of humanity on their shoulders so because of that they it’s kind of

[28:31] tongue-in-cheek and it’s taken lightly which i think allows the audience to digest the the crazy shenanigans that ensue

[28:39] um i think that’s also with that’s why a game like just cause is successful is because the plot is so just

[28:48] you know yeah you’re gonna overthrow a dictator okay but at the end of the day it’s all just explosions so yeah

[28:56] that’s how were able to take that on whereas if the same sort of crazy stunt explosions happened on

[29:03] something that fall out with their storytelling in it being a little bit

[29:09] more serious at times it would feel disjointed and the juxtaposition would be so strong it would actually break

[29:17] um so yeah i think it’s a balance thing you know and some people get it and some people

[29:23] make 300 million dollars you know how it goes reaching for something here he’s getting a copy of transformers

[29:34] that’s what he’s doing oh oh you still have it eh yeah so on video is my original playstation copy of final fantasy vii

[29:43] three beautiful discs and i hope i saw the discs i’d be a riot one one yeah i gotta got all of them okay good

[29:52] and remember when remember when i did this too like it was uh jeez it was it ever something to actually be able to find it and play

[29:59] through it but so jeff you play i assume you had the this playstation version version not the greatest hits version though

[30:07] that wasn’t cheap son of a [ __ ] hey i was at this i was saving up for my kid at this point oh there you go one

[30:15] day i’m going to have a son yeah bastards so they so you had um

[30:24] you had that version you’ve now bought three additional versions four three additional ones if i pull the trigger on the ps4 here

[30:35] three additional okay yeah ps1 ios steam and ps4 inbound

[30:42] okay and then you will clearly buy the remake when it comes oh god yes so you

[30:50] it comes time to sit your son down and after you get done telling them about the birds and the bees you then have to

[30:58] tell them about the clouds and the earth what would you what would you have him play

[31:06] what version of all of your final fantasies would you have your kid play for the first time i guess it would well depend on

[31:16] technology at that time but if i could make him play let’s let’s assume for the purpose of this hypothetical let’s say today he today he’s old enough today’s

[31:23] the day he graduates to talk about final fantasy vii if i had a ps1 still i would make him play that one bold all so all the load

[31:33] times all the bad graphics you gotta experience i love the bad graphics but

[31:40] in the hd one just quickly you mean like the popeye like arms and everything like yeah i think that was part of this weird quirky charm

[31:49] um but with the hd remaster of ps4 and even steam you have like these super like they read the polygon characters so you have these

[31:59] super sharp characters against like almost 256 bit artwork

[32:06] backgrounds you know that you’re wandering through so it’s like it’s like this sort of um for lack of a better term like a

[32:13] vaseline on the camera lens effect with the lower resolution output of the older consoles

[32:19] and because of that it would almost add like a filter that would tie everything in together where now we have such high fidelity on the polygons but such low

[32:28] fidelity on the background are um it becomes disjointed and you end up seeing like oh that’s such a crisp line

[32:36] yeah then like the line on the texture behind it is like you know 32-bit so what’s going on why why is it

[32:45] it’s a two different great games jammed into one where before you would get the aliasing happening on the on the polygon

[32:53] and that would almost be the same pixel size as the background resolution and everything felt unified because of it yeah so i see

[33:02] i’m good for the old graphics like that’s why i won’t buy final fantasy 6 on ios because they redid all the sprites

[33:08] and it looks horrible you need the old school stuff so if he’s going to play anything old-school stuff if he can stand it he

[33:14] won’t be able to stand it there’s no way he’s going to run around gain levels for 42 hours and be positive and not just like it and

[33:23] it’s not like skyrim or followed 40 hours where no you know that’s that’s time just like exploring like that’s wonderful like

[33:30] that’s 40 that’s work it’s grinding yeah it’s working hard work old-fashioned grind like that like you gotta level up this um

[33:41] it’s just a boat man because it’s just like it’s jeez i remember there was guys that i knew that like

[33:47] would rubber band the controller on the one side so i kept doing circles and then they’d have like a turbo one so they

[33:54] could just press like the a so it’s always going so that it would just battle battle about up and just leave it running for

[33:59] the day so he can level up because that’s what it needed you need to like probably to do decently at the i don’t know if

[34:05] i’d be curious to see what it’s like to beat it and i sometimes wonder if i like that was just me lowering my challenge so for the bosses like it

[34:14] was just pretty relatively easy to go past like i wonder if i didn’t level at all like that would just require more finesse in how i was

[34:22] fighting i don’t know it’s not really well there’s some strategy to it but really it’s about hit points sometimes right so

[34:31] you’d have to have some levels yeah a lot of these games is just like a battle of numbers and

[34:37] if if your character’s hit points aren’t enough to go toe-to-toe with the boss then nope you’re not going toe-to-toe with

[34:46] the boss i just want to like yeah i’m trying to think about any modern gamers i mean maybe it’s not

[34:52] giving them enough credit i mean this is the people came up on minecraft and world of warcraft world of warcraft would be a

[34:59] good example as far as a lot of grinding in that one like the whole there’s people who go off and just kill boars in the woods for hours and even um like

[35:06] with oblivion like the precursor to skyrim there i heard stories of people who would uh rubber band the controller so they’re just walking against the wall

[35:16] but it would still because they were walking the more you walk the more your agility would increase and they just need all day and then after or they

[35:24] would sneak down and they would just put the person to sneak against the wall and just have them sneak continuously

[35:31] um in like a safe spot that they knew they were hidden so they were constantly sneaking and they just let it run all day and

[35:38] then by the end of the day they were like a master at sneaking and then they could just walk around and sneak everywhere

[35:45] oh yeah that’ll be that’ll be fascinating it’s like

[35:50] one it’s like the game genie you know yeah it’s fun but it does remove some of the game itself like part of why you play

[35:58] the game is to improve the characters that you’re playing with so they do better in battle like that’s the game itself

[36:08] so like if you let just automation increase the quality of your characters

[36:14] that’s like letting a first-person shooter aim for you it’s taking away half of the game

[36:22] yeah yeah somebody curious if they keep what does this cycle look like and how because in 10 more years like they’ve

[36:29] been able to with you jeff based on your nostalgia and your love of it sell it to you now four times

[36:36] and imagine now uh five or ten years from now especially when it comes time especially for a kid

[36:43] to get into it um if he’s interested in that type of thing they re-re-release it or it’s another

[36:49] chapter or it’s whatever like it’s in vr now it’s virtual reality version of final fantasy that would be wicked

[36:56] right i already sold you i just sold you a copy in the future send 29.99 please so

[37:05] you gotta wonder like how many times i’ll kind of turn that crank and how many times they can get you and especially you can do it in kind of the

[37:10] guys of for your kid as well like in ten years it’s like well geez billy you gotta you gotta play this like this is one of the best games ever let’s

[37:18] purchase this together yeah it’s it’s going back to you the nostalgia factor right like i had great

[37:25] memories like that i saved up so much money to get a playstation and that game like it took me forever and i saw the commercials on tv back

[37:34] when there’s commercials and it just got me amped to do the next like it was total next gen right you went from little

[37:41] sprites to full well not full 3d but 3d characters in a 2d world but amazing so i have great memories it’s just going to sell me on that all

[37:52] the time as long you know i do have a budget i’m not going to spend 60 bucks on a remaster

[38:00] of it but i will spend 10 which is then times four i guess so there’s probably some limits too i mean so

[38:09] news did come out with the new version that it’s going to be episodic or there’s rumors it’s going to be episodic i don’t think it was confirmed

[38:16] that it’s going to be and if it is so imagine that it’s episodic and every episode costs thirty dollars and they’re spaced out like by eight

[38:24] months and like at that point all of a sudden like as much nostalgia as you might have it’s like

[38:31] that’s when i put on the brakes yeah i can’t because i want the complete game as much as i do want like a day one version i’ve never bought a day one

[38:40] version of my life and that would be the game to do it i won’t buy a day one version if it’s just like the first chapter or the first

[38:47] disc i need a complete story like a complete book the square is like notorious for taking

[38:54] you know bloody time with everything i could die a old man before i see the end of that thing so i’m not oh yeah we’re probably increasing half like three

[39:03] before they end up yeah exactly yeah it’s not really in tune with how um i think this rabid fan base would play

[39:13] this game i mean it’s like imagine if like fallout 4 was episodic like i’m seeing photos of um i didn’t mention actually a little bit

[39:21] of scourge that’s followed because the the weight of how big the thing is and how little of chunk like i’ve actually

[39:27] managed to bother taking out cause i’ve seen screenshots and there’s like apparently aliens and there’s like lava and there’s just like

[39:34] all this crooky stuff i got i haven’t seen anything like this like i’m still dealing with like stuff as soon as you leave sanctuary

[39:42] and stop building chairs like there’s so many old ladies need chairs and they need drugs and i’m just the good samaritan to

[39:50] do it damn it like we’ve been through this but uh there’s i

[39:56] was in a i found a hospital full of super mutants i found some dude’s secret recipe i gotta find out who wants it i don’t know

[40:04] why i even have it i found a crashed airplane you know just you gotta it’s a game that’s great for wandering um

[40:12] and that’s how you find all that’s the discovering these things not as much seeing like the screenshots and being like oh i got something else to put on

[40:19] the checklist it’s like being kind of what’s over the horizon it’s you know it’s a cat with a laser pointer kind of thing

[40:27] um and just kind of going all over the map and i think that that’s where fallout shines

[40:35] the most um is just the sheer creating your own story like with skyrim as well where

[40:45] you’re it’s all about like these random encounters and finding some bizarro dungeon when you go in and

[40:53] you’re like yeah then dungeon was filled with guys named gary for some reason i don’t know why um

[41:01] in one of the previous fallouts uh there’s an entire vault full of guys named gary and that was all they would say is gary

[41:11] and never an explanation just it was just the gary vault gone wrong it was absolutely hilarious

[41:19] that’s amazing the um i’ll say what it’s kind of interesting one of the uh

[41:25] just as a quick i don’t want to drop the nostalgia things there’s a lot of meat to that but the

[41:32] quick quick sidebar to it and actually i’ll bring it back to follow but um yeah so follow had been i felt the weight of it just like this

[41:40] is so huge there’s so much to do and there’s like there’s something but like there’s an end to this but i have to work so much to get to that i’m so

[41:47] far behind in it where actually i ended up going back to elite dangerous the uh space flying sim

[41:55] because there is no but there’s no end to it i’m not supposed to beat that game like they’re really supposed to beat ball you don’t

[42:04] ah there’s like a i don’t know there’s just something there’s something more about the exploration and there’s something more

[42:11] calming and quiet about the vastness of space and how i was never going there there’s no end you’re just floating around you’re just in space i’m gonna

[42:21] i’m gonna pick up some i’m gonna pick up some cargo i’m gonna go over here it’s like a hot bath

[42:29] yes it was just i was that was the mood i was in it was like with everything else uh with a bit of a stressful week it’s

[42:35] like just gonna float around in space for a little while man don’t don’t even worry about it take it easy hear anything

[42:41] can’t hear baby scream in space you can’t hear your baby scream but um yeah it

[42:51] i know it’s a bit of a bit of a weird one because yeah at least with fallout you’re progressing you’re achieving uh you do get benefit there’s a lot of

[42:58] benefit to that exploring and i had played it since for sure but there’s something about that uh yeah just being like lost in the calm

[43:06] vastness of space it was like yeah it was therapeutic ultimately but

[43:13] i would like to find asteroid fields and just like yeah man that’s that’s in this game i should show that to you oh no i’ve

[43:22] played lots of spaces elite dangerous is on my list but at least dangerous is a lot of hours hours

[43:30] i hear that so now these so follow but i have good ones so far but as you said like it’s the same reason why you’re not picking up just cause like your dance

[43:37] card’s full you know you only get so many hours in a week i think i made time for any of this frankly

[43:45] this is pushing it but uh followed like gavin you’ve been into that series ages yeah like what’s what’s the first followed game and let’s assume let’s go

[43:55] that they proceed to release fallout 5 and it’s amazing also let’s put that one there

[44:02] time um your kids in the game which where do you start what follow do they first play especially with following and i’ll put

[44:10] this to you like because especially fallout 3 was a real jump compared to the first two

[44:16] yeah i would actually um well they would be at an age anyways they’d have to be pretty mature because

[44:25] even the first ones are pretty boring it’s like well he just turned six i think i would actually start them off on the first one

[44:34] wow really because the first one’s a relatively quick play and the animations in it hold up i played it maybe

[44:41] five years ago again for like that’s another one that i’ve purchased a few different times um

[44:48] just like very like a digital copy versus a i still have my desk kick around somewhere um

[44:54] but yeah original fallout 1 like that was just the story was really cool and the exploration was great the music

[45:03] was really engrossing like the environments just felt really good um

[45:09] and it was just kind of something survivalist about it that’s kind of been lost in the newer ones everything had consequences everything

[45:17] had weight uh ammunition was heavy so like you can only carry so much uh different ammunition types would do

[45:26] different effects so you have to decide whether to reload your gun with hollow points or armor piercing depending on what you’re fighting

[45:32] uh it was really engrossing um and very deep compared to the newer ones which are

[45:41] a little bit less deep but more entertaining i guess is a way of putting it they’re more stylized they’re more entertaining

[45:49] but more michael beige

[45:54] careful okay some uh okay so let’s let’s role play for a second and i’m your kid but daddy this is boring this is a

[46:04] stupid game this has reading in it yeah i would go

[46:11] all right fine we’ll play rocket league that’s that’s gonna be the hard part though right like all these like nostalgia type games like

[46:21] the games nowadays are in depth they have a lot of things to it like with fallout 4 right there’s a lot of things to do it’s there’s no you know shortage

[46:28] of that in the older games it’s just there’s a lot more reading versus

[46:33] well i follow it does have a lot of reading but everything is text and the system like don’t don’t let’s not um

[46:44] and we’ve we suffered through it but ultimately like the intuitiveness of the uis and menus and even just the systems like in

[46:52] the explanation of the system so you could actually get a lot out of it have vastly improved i mean you go back to some of those old systems and some of

[46:58] those menus it is just garbage like it’s really gross the way they used to do those things which we kind of i think we kind of forget because we you know we

[47:07] cut our teeth on it so we’re used to pretty bad but for somebody who’s now benefiting from all of those years of experience and improvement to go back

[47:16] to systems and uis where it’s like how the heck do you do any of this like this is so confusing true yeah they can be pretty daunting

[47:26] but like there are some games that are are fairly clean and fairly straightforward like follow the original follow its ui was actually not that bad

[47:35] uh compared to something like system shock because it was a 2d game it really lent itself well

[47:41] to just being well designed and the reading factor in it like some of the funniest writing um

[47:48] i’ve ever read in a video game like it was just super awesome it wasn’t nearly as text heavy as something like let’s say uh the original wasteland which is

[47:56] just like oh yeah holy choose your adventure but like i think that’s the thing too is we have to remember as parents that our

[48:03] kids aren’t always going to like the things we like you know it’s you know my daughter might have dark chocolate

[48:10] she might take after her mom and prefer more of like a milk chocolate you mentioned another nostalgia one is system shock right they announced the

[48:19] third one i was like oh you got me on that one too i never played those ones but the uh i could understand i’ve heard so much

[48:28] great stuff about it i’d be curious to see an updated version just i do i’m kind of curious where it stops like i wonder if there’s enough

[48:34] like they’re redoing they redid tomb raider there’s another system shocked do sec deus ex sorry

[48:41] i always pronounced the due sex until i heard deus ex deus ex machina the machine of god yeah okay

[48:51] but um deus ex and just the final fantasy like multiple remakes now is it

[48:58] shenmue sorry shenmue three

[49:08] wonder when it ends like it’s a bit of them it feels like it’s a bit of a machine sometimes uh sorry men heck psychonauts 2 psychonauts 2 was just

[49:16] announced this week as a kickstarter that’s the problem right now is like everybody who’s making stuff a good portion of them

[49:24] are sorry super nostalgia about the stuff that they grew up and rather than just letting it influence

[49:33] their their creativity like for example a really good example actually of nostalgia influencing new creation is far cry 3 blood dragon

[49:44] um because that was 80s vhs and this is great it was so great fantastic it was great it was a natural yeah

[49:52] but it was everything i loved about the 80s it was amazing chrome lightning

[49:58] the music the music it’s like an old 80s like action film the grids and but that was the thing it was

[50:09] nostalgia but digested into something new one of the hang-ups that we’re having right now both in film like there’s a

[50:15] new point break coming out we didn’t need that oh yeah it’s you can take the nostalgia and the excitement of that past property and you

[50:26] can do something new with it even if it’s with the property uh the mad max came out this year that was a fantastic film

[50:34] and it did play to the nostalgia of the previous mad max movies but it was not a remake it was a new

[50:43] chapter the thing i have about remakes is that i only have so much time to enjoy new entertainment

[50:53] i’d love to explore new stories um compared to something more along the lines of like

[51:01] exploring an old story but a new chapter in it like with psychonauts um at least that’s a new chapter it’s not just oh we’re gonna do an hd

[51:08] re-release it’s like well yeah i don’t like those fine we don’t need to do that

[51:15] the worst one i’ve seen of the rema like the hd remake is beyond two souls because like that was amazing

[51:23] yeah it was amazing on the ps3 and then ps4 is like okay we you know made it less jaggy in some areas great

[51:33] well hold on i’ll i’ll challenge you guys on this one because there was the ps4 remake of last of us was it

[51:41] yes yeah now would you say that same thing about that because i’ve come to understand a lot of people were super jazzed about it

[51:47] being on ps4 60 frames i think did it for well at least me just having it but i got it for like five bucks i wouldn’t pay full price because i did

[51:57] own it but the load times are faster and it’s 60 frames a second and it’s for something like that like it was my

[52:05] first time playing it so i appreciated at least them having a level up and like it’s a new console let’s take

[52:14] advantage of the horsepower and just re-export some stuff and and do a

[52:22] build of the game that’s you know specific to the hardware that it’s going to be presented on you know i think that’s

[52:28] that’s worthwhile especially launching a new console um but there’s other games where it’s

[52:36] like i don’t know if i’m really gonna go and like uh dishonored um as much as i would like to i never got a

[52:43] chance to actually finish it on the xbox 360 and i’d like to finish the game because it was a cool story and there was a point in time where i

[52:50] was like oh should i buy it for the ps4 and replay that first part in the remastered version and then continue on and finish the game

[52:59] or do i just load up the 360 version and the jump in fidelity between those two it’s just not quite enough for not just

[53:08] the cost of the game because it’s not that expensive but the cost of time to catch up to where i was not previously like or do i just

[53:16] load the save of the version i have because all that work is already done and yeah yeah it’s difficult it’s like you get the

[53:25] things spend the money and then the time to experience it or do you just say you know i’m good i’m good

[53:34] i do find that they’re doing remasters uh with their new audience too so a lot of people did switch from like xbox to ps4

[53:43] or vice versa so like goddess for god of war 3. it looks great on ps3 it looks a little bit better on ps4 like

[53:52] i don’t know what they really improved but i think they’re getting all those people that couldn’t play it cashing in

[53:59] but now they’re just going south who played one and two on the ps2 but didn’t get a chance to play three

[54:05] because it came right on ps3 yeah but then have returned back to playstation for the next generation it’s like well

[54:13] you know i was the ps2 generation i missed three but now i’m four what did i miss and they’re like oh there’s this uncharted series and

[54:21] there’s this there’s this and there’s this it’s like the one that keep doing that i hope they

[54:28] keep on doing is there’s a shadow of the colossus oh yeah i missed i had like i was definitely with

[54:35] playstation i totally could have played it and somehow i just never you never picked that one up never put it together never could do it and i

[54:43] didn’t own i had a 360. i didn’t have a ps3 so i missed it like i think it’s available for ps4 like well i think what they’re doing is

[54:51] they um they just announced that they’re doing ps2 emulation on ps4 and gyro colossus is one of the games that will be emulated

[55:00] on ps4 yes that’s like so as far as like backwards but they’re basically saying we have an emulator that

[55:10] will be able to run these builds on this system um which which i like more than like the

[55:18] playstation go now is that it playstation now oh it’s messing up i guess like i think about someone’s like that because the

[55:25] there’s a lot of emptiness from all that i’ve never played it so i can’t speak directly to but any plays of it that i have watched it did seem there’s a lot

[55:33] of emptiness to it like blankness yeah your face it’s like space that’s my space

[55:43] you guys are hilarious i think he would actually really enjoy that one because there are it’s a lot of open area nothing going on no other

[55:51] enemies but these 15 guys and it’s a puzzle each one is a puzzle you have to figure out how to kill them it’s different each time

[56:00] it’s not like you go up and splash at them you have to figure it out but i’m trying to think about like uh if you were to

[56:06] bring it to your kid and like that emptiness like ha ha there’s a difference between the space emptiness and the vastness of it and

[56:15] what ultimately felt like they need to fill out space so they just made it like larger like they made the grass plain larger

[56:21] unless you guys actually think it is like legitimately unless you guys actually enjoyed it i’m trying i guess i’m trying to piece

[56:26] together are you making fun of me for the space comments or are you legitimately putting it as a virtue yeah okay

[56:35] it’s traversing these you know all those um montages and lord of the rings we have the swelling music and you’re watching

[56:43] like go over hilltops and stuff it’s controlling that but like at a galloping pace on a horse yeah horse mechanics are so well tuned

[56:55] it feels like a riding horse um they don’t break on a dime so you have to be careful uh they some they won’t go into danger

[57:04] so they’ll just be like no i’m not going over the cliff another go this way um there was something and playing space

[57:12] sims there was that same sort of peaceful catharsis of riding the horse over top of these big open landscapes and then to have that bookend

[57:23] with essentially a 40-story mechanical bull rubik’s cube that you have to figure out how to solve like that’s essentially the game but

[57:34] that was the awesomeness of it um it’s just riding the horse and there’s times two where it’s like you’re riding the horse to

[57:42] the colossus so it’s like you’re jumping off a horse onto a moving beast

[57:48] and then holding on for dear life and then the score in that game is one of the best in video games so it makes those open areas that much better and i

[57:58] don’t think there’s any world map right you just hold up your sword and it shoots a beam of light like the beam like goes in the general direction and

[58:04] then it gets stronger when you’re actually hitting it so like there’s no math it’s a compass your source is a compass

[58:11] it’s got so much it’s got a good like spec ops the line kind of moment where you kind of come to this

[58:18] realization of what you’re doing kind of thing so it’s kind of it’s a really cool game yeah play it now so so let’s see you

[58:26] know it’s an interesting take on the nostalgia thing where if you want to look at it more in a kinder light as opposed to just

[58:35] cashing in on warm feelings from people’s past in many ways given the breadth i mean we’re sitting here talking about just cause

[58:42] three and like my god we have no time for this thing so on the launch of the ps6 um you know where

[58:50] let’s say roughly 60 or 70 whatever our age is and they do the ps6 re-release of just cause 3 and we hop on this podcast because i

[59:00] assume it’ll last that long and we we’re discussing it’s like man i finally get a chance to play this game and

[59:07] so in many ways it kind of feels like there’s a there at least is a barrier to entry as far as the quality of the game you’re not seeing too many

[59:14] garbage things being re-released reproduced and playing on that nostalgia bits so if nothing else in some ways at least with these new

[59:21] generations of garbage though but that’s the thing is nostalgia is usually associated with something that

[59:29] was good enough to warrant good feels you know if you’re playing something that’s just total hog swallow and you just

[59:38] throw your controller away because of it like you know those sort of you know farm carnival shoot games like on oh like the wii

[59:49] the original wii shovelware and all that stuff oh let’s not remember it hd masters that’s red oh yeah that’s perfect

[59:58] none of them made it to the wii u none of them got remastered and sent over to the wii u because all of those studios that made

[1:00:06] those games just for the sake of raking in some money they cashed in their chips and they talked to a dodge

[1:00:13] like they’re not going to revisit that stuff so that’s the thing is is luckily nostalgia is like a litmus test of

[1:00:21] quality and if it wasn’t good enough for people that fond memories of it’s not going to be of a high enough regard for people to

[1:00:28] want to put they’re not going to get investment to make a remake nobody’s going to give them money to do it because they’re like yeah nobody liked

[1:00:34] your stuff so why would we give you money to remake this peripheral game like that didn’t work so

[1:00:43] we’re not doing that again i guess when i think about the um games i’d want my kid to play i’d be curious to see if he’d be

[1:00:52] interested in final fantasy specifically seven of course see if you get into that um super mario 64.

[1:00:59] oh yeah and for me i would definitely want him to do it under 3ds i mean i have it for the original 64.

[1:01:07] um so i’d be kind of carries a cv like and yeah it’s also a wii but if you could do the remaster of it on the

[1:01:14] nintendo 60 or on the 3ds and also then the ocarina of time like two games that i hold very dear as far as

[1:01:23] and i think you know i i can’t really think of many things i’d do to improve them like they were just so robust in their experiences

[1:01:31] well with mario mario was great like the mechanics of mario still hold up like the movement on on what they did was insane and it’s still great and like my

[1:01:42] five-year-old can control it play mario 3 and just like totally drive full enjoyment off that or even super mario brothers

[1:01:53] yeah i think one of the games that i would be really curious about uh my daughter playing would be funky

[1:01:59] island oh yeah and like that’s actually a series where i’ve seen the remastered versions i’m

[1:02:06] like you know what that’s nice because it’s they kept the the heart of the hand-drawn effects and

[1:02:14] the hand-drawn uh charm that it had they just were able to do it with a better computer

[1:02:22] um so you know now what game i i thought you were talking about i just i just caught like monkey island the point

[1:02:28] click i thought you were talking about ape escape the ones where the monkeys are running around and i’m like yeah i guess that

[1:02:35] one’s pretty pretty good high standards there also the uh re-release of grim fandango

[1:02:44] oh yeah yeah i bought i bought that i didn’t have never played it i remember playing it back on pc and i

[1:02:50] loved it uh another one that i hope they do at least a re-release i don’t care if it’s remastered or not because it looked

[1:02:57] beautiful first time around it was stunning it was a full throttle there i think they announced it yeah i’ve heard of that i think they announced it

[1:03:06] i’ve been living under a rock yeah i think they announced it at psx and then the depending on the they might do an hd release of

[1:03:15] psychonauts based on how some things fall out and that’s of course actually it might maybe i might have twisted that depending on

[1:03:23] the popularity of the psychonauts 2 they might do full throttle okay hd

[1:03:29] not i’m not entirely certain that full throttle hd was fully announced i should do fact checks mentioned that i could be wrong but i

[1:03:37] thought they mentioned that okay on the show we’re doing a google search keep going well it’s like with psychonauts 2 though

[1:03:46] like kind of to touch on it with remasters and re-releasing and everything great fine but with psychonauts 2

[1:03:53] which is kind of the next step i guess in the franchise it looked like it was already kind of being pieced together and then they’re

[1:03:58] like hey give us money like we have all these successful games but give us money where i don’t like the crowd funding part of it

[1:04:06] i will um breaking news i will confirm that lucasarts classic full throttle is getting remastered on ps4 and ps vita

[1:04:16] more more the other thing more actually more surprising then is that they would go

[1:04:22] specific like that like they would release to just one platform they could probably get a deal or funding from probably

[1:04:29] it’s probably temporary too honestly like you wait another six months it probably comes apparently they’re also doing uh

[1:04:35] apparently day of the tentacle as well oh really that was a good oh holy nostalgia everywhere lucas our point-and-click adventure

[1:04:44] games like the lucasarts point-and-clicks were just so good they were great they should have the original logo you

[1:04:51] know the i used to watch that all the time like a little guy weird-ass looking gold icon and like yeah caveman type drawing of it

[1:05:00] yep all right so guys it looks like we have no room for new games but yeah our kids our kids will get to live our exact

[1:05:08] gaming experience but in hd it’s going to be yeah and they’ll do it for a whole five minutes before they’re like this is

[1:05:16] boring this sucks there’s not a single pokemon in any of these games assuming pokemon is still a thing at that time it’s still a thing now so you

[1:05:24] can’t kill that franchise are your kids in the pokemon my kids are getting into it uh well my five-year-old because of school

[1:05:34] so you can’t control that once again in school peer pressure yeah could be worse

[1:05:40] i think it could be yu-gi-oh so oh no yeah don’t mention yu-gi-oh pokemon i don’t i fine whatever i didn’t like you view

[1:05:51] sorry so we are we’re getting a list of things we can’t talk about in the show one is bubble guppies one is yu-gi-oh

[1:06:01] mike oh he’s great i think that’s happening in the season i just don’t i don’t i almost don’t want to talk about him

[1:06:06] because it ultimately ends up being negative and it’s just too easy to be negative i prefer to talk about good stuff thank frankly

[1:06:14] so jim i think we’ll give that a call the yeah nostalgia coming to a wallet near you

[1:06:26] now it’s gonna be it’s gonna be looks like a big year of nostalgia next year so it’s gonna be kind of it’ll be funny to watch as we drop one

[1:06:32] by one to our uh personal favorites i’ve already got hit by mine so i’m good yeah well mine’s coming for the next oh doom

[1:06:43] yeah when i when i heard the door open a sound effect i was just like oh okay i have to try it wow you’re good at that
