[0:00] nemesis system was was really memorable heard yeah that sounded sounds complicated on the outset but if understanding of it sounded pretty sweet

[0:11] as a mechanic oh yes it’s dead simple really like basically is just you have an NPC that eventually starts picking on you and then eventually you take them

[0:21] down and it feels amazing nemesis that sounds complicated what’s entail well you have a nemesis oh pretty much now I get it that’s how you don’t you don’t

[0:36] have to do much you just you you finally get you it’s basically the catharsis of finally kicking the crap out of the bully that picked on you nice no great

[0:47] stuff yeah yeah yeah like basically the Nemesis system is there are orc bullies and they pick on you and then eventually you do enough push-ups and eat enough

[0:57] eggs and then you can just take them and then it’s wonderful see the problem would be then you’re going to then you’re feeling great you go into the

[1:07] world you’re taking a walk and you look well I’m out in the world anyways I might as well just play some Pokemon go but then your bullies at but you bullies

[1:14] at the gym and he totally steals your coffee money don’t even say it Wednesday no poking try it look should I get this bad boy sturdy cheese in a rush cast the

[1:36] yeah the adult beverages are poured the babies are asleep it’s time for new dad gaming a show about fatherhood gaming and new fathers figuring out their

[1:47] gaming lives my name is Trevor and I have a one-year-old my name is Gavin I have a 11 month old my name is Jeff I you have a soon to be six year old and a

[1:58] three year old you tell how long until he’s 63 days so Wow we had a snare bottom weekend so you have a you have we have had it you have had it this past

[2:12] weekend we had it so it’s pretty pretty sweet exhausting so I can record the other day please no podcasts so many six-year-olds yeah it was a lot of prep

[2:27] work a lot of running around getting stuff ready we didn’t even have it at the house we headed Eddie like a Taekwondo place say it was it was all

[2:36] taken care of there but it was just a lot of love yet to provide food and get the kids kind of arranged but it was really neat they got like a 40 minute

[2:46] Taekwondo lesson where an instructor came in had 12 5 6 year olds including my three-year-old quiet and listening for a full for linux it was like magic

[2:58] and the kid the instructor was like 19 20 years old he was just commanding and you know we got them in line and it was all about respect and it was just bad

[3:08] very straightforward and inspire confidence it was awesome it was great i highly recommend that martial art that was my go-to as a kid oh yeah oh yeah I

[3:18] took for a while too and yeah there’s just something like the discipline you get from that one especially if you have a good instructor that can command a

[3:26] room full of kids yeah um like it’s the the self-discipline it teaches and just on top of that the athleticism you get it’s uh it’s pretty good it’s just it’s

[3:40] a martial art that can grow with the kid as well so like as a kid gets older you can kind of pursue it further and further and further until like it

[3:49] depends on like how involved you want to get with like tournaments and competition and stuff but even just as like a martial art that you go to a few

[3:57] times a week it’s it’s fantastic and I also remember like it was one of those things that helped me sleep well all the kids which is exhausted so it definitely

[4:07] puts them through the wringer but it’s good to is really good for confidence building um like I when I first started it was to kind of

[4:15] counteract some bullying but I never had to use it but what ended up happening was after taking it for a little while I started walking taller and became a

[4:25] little bit less of a target um you know because bullies can kind of sense this sort of stuff and not as much sense like oh that kid kick stuff now but more just

[4:37] like look at the size of that kids muscles oh damn kids quad you’re nuts but more of just the yeah you get you get the confidence but then you also get

[4:48] the discipline as well and it’s a really nice combination so yeah if you find a good instructor I highly recommended it’s a it’s a really good martial art

[4:55] yeah this guy was great he was good amazing with the kids I went up to him afterwards or talking for far a bit he probably sold us on that visit dojo or

[5:07] studio or whatever you call it a training facility probably sold us on that location just as a like they do it before and after care so they pick up

[5:16] kids at school during the school year bring him back for a short lesson they do homework through crafts they do other things so we might send them there and

[5:24] kind of get two birds one stone get some aftercare out of it and then a Taekwondo a aspect to it instead of signing them up separately in stuff so yeah what’s

[5:33] this shop yeah it was really well done um but yeah exhausting afterwards we instead of resting we were kind of insane and took the kids out to a movie

[5:42] so just got kids but okay yeah this pile on the misery well he is we’re not gonna feel better so just as well feel worse I don’t know why we did it but no the kids

[5:54] learn Jude my six-year-old loved it so he had a great time good but that was my weekend how did you get any gaming in along with all that parenting okay I

[6:05] have never played I have no I’ll preempt this I have never played in my life this game ever but Pokemon go is amazing see is ever gonna judge you okay how dare

[6:22] you Oh ok so I saw I am it’s not available in canada yet but if you just switch your app store you can get it from the US

[6:30] which is totally helping their servers but no word of a lie we were just out tonight doing it for a family walk and me and my son went out and we had yeah

[6:43] ok I’m glad sorry I just thought have I did set a picture you and your wife went out to know like you left the kids but it yeah i just wrote a Gurkha so the way

[6:51] this game works is that it landmarks certain things around you and you have to go with those landmarks to find pokeballs or pokemon or whatever you

[7:00] have to go and physically go to these places so we’re out for a family walk no word of lie i have no idea how to work this thing so we get to one of the stops

[7:08] my my kid recognizes it shows a little picture so it must work off google somehow she was a little picture the stop we’re there we got this old GPS

[7:16] coordinate i have no idea how to like activate it like how do i like its do i click it do i touch it what do i do so people were biking by same spot and they

[7:29] were on the game and they helped us we said hi there like happy hunting like it was and then we went around the corner another person again cell phone oh said

[7:40] hi how’s it going what have you got you know what’s in your pokedex or whatever they call it and it was just honestly so refreshing versus being online in FPS

[7:51] having people swear at you and saying your noob and you don’t know anything these people were actually out and about saying hi to each other it was just yeah

[7:59] it was honestly like goodwill it was it was great to see that yeah let me ask just let me put this out there have we achieved world peace yeah like did it

[8:11] happen are we good pokemons it have and I think so we just need to spread the love ya know well maybe want to see what so sure eight billion like at the end of

[8:22] it the if you see there’s this one video where it’s in Central Park of course I’m like super metropolitan super crowded New York like it’s must be hundreds of

[8:34] people just kind of roaming around that same area because the same thing Saul actual locations yeah and its people this all these and stories are

[8:41] just flooding out of the Woodworks about oh and I showed up there and I didn’t quite know so cop pulled over and he got out and he pull into the way and we

[8:49] played it together then I ran down the street my other buddy can just bizarre amazing human interactions going on this is so wild right now yes the food

[9:00] because they’ve had these sort of augmented reality landmark driven games in the past but they’ve never taken off because the user base is so small but

[9:13] you have two names attached to this thing Nintendo and pokemon and because of those two names a mechanic that’s actually been somewhat prevalent for the

[9:23] last I’d say almost five years but that just never stopped like the no user base at all Wow and then now it’s just like all those intros like this is amazing

[9:35] like I think everybody’s discovering like pop rocks for the first time you know they’ve been on the store shelf for like ever because kardashian enjoyed

[9:44] some or something and there’s really nothing to the game like it’s all you know simple it’s free it uses a map which is pre-existing they just overlaid

[9:54] it with pokemon graphics yeah and the caching part is just you flicking a ball towards whatever animal or creature it is like that’s the catch part well the

[10:04] besides going out and trying to yeah to find it it gives you like little distances but ya know it was really interesting i’m not a pokemon dude i’ve

[10:13] never played one but this got my son out and he got him exercising which is great he forgot that he was exercising and then meeting new people so i don’t know

[10:23] me like and it’s not even released here that was a scary part he’s like it’s not even here so you have to again switch your app store to the US and people are

[10:31] out playing it so it can only imagine once it is released here how much the population rose yeah at least for the other few weeks right and then we’ll see

[10:40] what happens but yeah knowing I saw it at least like various people that I kind of its today people that I know like professional adults like I saw at least

[10:50] four of them that had it and all these working adults had gone through their app store did the whole thing just so they could get it yeah and they’re

[10:59] furious but furiously doing it too it’s like all this is so cool like just going about it I mean it and the loss in productivity these last few days

[11:06] something to it yeah make sure you but I saw photo on the internet it was like a notice that got posted up in like a restaurant or something and it’s like we

[11:16] do not pay you to chase around mythical make-believe animals if you persist in playing this game while you’re on the clock level of law you’ll have plenty of

[11:27] time to catch them all in the unemployment but yes it is really it’s curious is it really cool like I don’t probably see myself playing at any time

[11:41] soon mostly because I really don’t think my phone could play it my phone is horrible um but I’m also not going to get a new phone for this thing but I’m

[11:49] very curious about it in the sense of just like seeing so many people playing it and what’s also fun to is that I’ve seen a lot of people in my neighborhood

[11:57] playing it and not a single one of them is younger than 19 yeah like it’s all like in the majority of their like mid 20s or whatnot maybe or even in the

[12:08] early 30s a lot of the people i know personally we’re playing it or you know my age and it’s yet it’s really quite peculiar seeing like this many people

[12:21] enjoying this thing simultaneously so fast and it also having that it’s not a purposeful social experience but it’s like an accidental social experience

[12:32] like they want you edit these locations but i think you interacting with other players verbally face to face was like probably designed but also some maybe to

[12:44] this extent they even the developers didn’t foresee this much like casual chit chat amongst a bunch of random strangers taking photos of tree stumps

[12:54] in a park nothing yeah that’s probably why it works to get so often in games or other experiences where it’s like then you can

[13:02] go and talk to people it’s like ah that’s not exactly I’ve been sort of that forced interaction but this is more that the goal is like go out and like to

[13:11] this place and catch this thing and it just happens to be six other people doing it too so very naturally you’re able to like collaborate make the thing

[13:18] happen and that’s it so as opposed to being a crux of the experience it ie forced upon you it’s conscious that’s nice happenstance like it yeah yeah just

[13:26] like man like what uh it’s Fanta it’s just it’s so many it’s as if gaming is as breaking out of very tight constraints as far as like this is the

[13:36] thing in your hand there’s the TV this is your basement like boom you’re going to game it’s VR it’s like incredible virtual reality experiences that could

[13:46] also extend beyond gaming into just letting people experience new parts the world they never to experience now we have walked around huge like little

[13:55] computers in our pockets so what are the applications as you’re out and about like what what is that mobility grant you as far as interesting gameplay I

[14:05] just started to start to see these things be realized because it won’t even like look I’ve mentioned reality thing like what are we going to see with stuff

[14:13] like tourism you know if you have like when we were in London and won a couple of the places that we went to a couple of cathedrals and stuff there was a they

[14:26] would hand you like an ipod and it had like all the full tour in it and you could access like when you got to certain things it would like you just be

[14:35] able to call up the audio for it but like if you implement something like this augmented reality with the geo tagging and stuff like that I can only

[14:44] imagine like how interesting stuff like that would be and if they could add this level of like excitement and entertainment ask you things like um

[14:54] travel and tourism and stuff like that it could be really really interesting um you know because they’re already kind of getting this like getting people out to

[15:03] landmarks in their own city that normally would go to just to catch a Pikachu and like that imagine like yeah if it

[15:15] wasn’t just for catching those things but for catching other cool stuff like you know learning yeah I know knowledge on that note like I know the rom the

[15:24] Ontario Museum they did an augmented reality where the dinosaur bones or it was the wrong ah dinosaur bones it turned into the actual dinosaur ok so it

[15:37] like skinned it for you that can only came up with the info so even stuff like that where it’s yeah you know they already have that information how do you

[15:44] make it cool and accessible and kids want to try it or even adults right yeah and learn and not realize you’re learning hey it’s not all those books

[15:52] and dry and just beautiful candy coating yeah this tastes delicious so what if I told you it was knowledge clothes what it’s like I’d broccoli except broccoli

[16:07] of thought brain broccoli brain broccoli and it’s free too this thing’s free which i think is a big a big thing as well it’s funny how it’s like a product

[16:19] that’s free just jumped a company’s stock yeah by the money Filene’s yeah yeah like billions of dollars they’re giving away something and the value the

[16:35] equity just shot through the roof yeah maxed out it’s like who who woulda thunk yeah it’d be like if a lemonade stands like yeah it’s free today and all of a

[16:51] sudden like the lemon state and lemonade stand owners net worth just like quadrupled in an afternoon even though you didn’t bring in any revenue now it’s

[17:00] just totally just hype and brand recognition and all this other weird measurement algorithms that the stock market likes to calculate stuff by if

[17:09] it’s like this company is now immensely Richard catching up to its former we glory and yeah it’s just so peculiar that like a free thing

[17:21] yeah there’s microtransactions and probably a few people are doing there it’s gonna probably make a lot and nose but so the other day is a free thing

[17:30] everything yeah yeah I don’t yeah I mean they been intended again though I mean it’s just funny because they were out of the conversation long time ago they’re

[17:37] kind of out of the conversation and then they launched the wii and everybody had a tweeze it that was the console that was the conversation it was like nothing

[17:47] compared to as far as a powerhouse on graphics but it just it was cool yeah now we you seem like a bit of a trip and now they’ve just like what II through

[17:56] what was III like what like what III this Pokemon go there’s only pokemon going out the only thing that exists yeah cheers like Nintendo will do these

[18:05] little things it Nintendo’s like this really interesting like alt-rock band that like releases a lot of just like oh that wasn’t very good well isn’t that

[18:16] was okay album and then every so often they’re just put all their eggs into one basket and release a single that like revolutionizes music at exit five to ten

[18:26] years and then in that five to ten years that musics being revolutionized by something that they made their still sort of just like putting out mediocrity

[18:36] and then five to ten years later they put of that other thing that released a new single and it’s like just changes everything again turns everything on its

[18:45] head it’s like this weird sort of thing like Nintendo every so often just does this one thing and it says one thing that just changes everything yeah and

[18:53] has all the other companies scrambling to try to like make ice cream cones at glow in the dark and like all those other crazy stuff like I’m really

[19:04] curious to see like what microsoft and sony are going like how they’re going to respond you know like are they going to be looking into augmented reality and

[19:15] stuff like that because like both Sony and Microsoft do have a very very laughable stake in the phone market compared to like Samsung and Apple um

[19:25] and maybe that’s their weak point is because like you know sony has like the ericsson why and then windows phones and that would there be a

[19:37] situation where because Nintendo isn’t doesn’t have any skin in the game regarding cell phones that their distribution is just whatever they

[19:46] platform they want to do that it’s not like it has to be released by like Android or this or that yeah I’m wondering whether that’s going to be

[19:54] their advantage and if even Sony and Microsoft is going to try to put in to this market I don’t know it’s weird it’s really weird I don’t know it’s so

[20:05] hopefully not I mean like because although as you mentioned with the ice cream cones and the full body scanners that yeah had come after the we the the

[20:13] other thought like what’s going to be like crash bandicoot AR if i find where crash bandicoot is in this park my god rather not liked when you pay that just

[20:23] don’t want to do that like please don’t make me do that so yeah like microsoft releases like a copper based shooter that you actually have to like hide

[20:32] behind a bench probably getting you guys saw that sounds that sounds like it’s gonna happen yeah that’s why she did it happen oh that’s a geez that’s shown to

[20:45] a street coming to street near you a 35 year old hipster with an iphone catching get out catching them all the future so the gavin any so since you weren’t

[20:56] playing pokemon go now the death did you did you get into any gaming this week Oh basically just trying to finish doom guys I’m going on oh yeah yeah I have

[21:11] thoroughly I haven’t enjoyed a game like this no very long while actually no not a very long walks i really enjoyed uncharted 12 and i came right off those

[21:19] into doom so like it’s just been like the hits just keep coming it’s it’s been a good few different games one after another um yeah I picked up a grim

[21:30] fandango i haven’t dug into it yet but I’m excited to give that a try but yeah I just been playing doom um trying to think of anything else that I’ve been

[21:40] enjoying let’s build it just plan that one I’ve been eyeing up a few there was one game called soma it’s like yeah I was curious about that one

[21:57] but I’m not sure from white want to hop to that because it’s very like atmosphere kind of first-person experience i know is that obviously the

[22:06] same is doing but it’s that same sort of i like to switch up the type of game that i’ve been plying so i think the next one might be something a little bit

[22:14] more like might give Mad Max a try or something like that it’s another one that saw man that one that’s another ones with they were talking before we

[22:24] started unless we talked after we started which points repeating it but it’s like shadow of Mordor and Mad Max seem to be two titles that are so

[22:34] desperate to get onto everybody’s computer because those things just continue to drop in price in the craziest fashion so I’ve seen shadow

[22:42] mortar forward as low as nine bucks i saw Mad Max recently for eight bucks you know would both you know then both are like though that’s unbelievable those

[22:51] are both fantastic games as far as I initially think they’re both um they’re developed by the same studio they seem very very like like Mad Max is developed

[23:04] by Avalanche Studios which is the same one behind just cause yeah but then they also had some help from or is it here where’s my mortal no more doors Vegas

[23:20] but yeah I think it’s also the team behind Mordor had a hand in Mad Max so it’s like this kind of hybrid between the two studios or something but or it

[23:28] could be totally wrong it is hallucinating ah sounds like a good idea yeah but no I’m curious about that one it looks it looks fun I’ve heard people

[23:38] compare it to like rage in regards to just like a really fun post-apocalyptic game which was a game i really enjoyed rage was a lot of fun oh yeah i think

[23:50] that might be the next one I’m also holding it for no man sky because spaceships and you went gold it’s got a lunch date

[23:59] yeah it’s gonna happen it’s actually happening so Mike see me for me now i’m just wondering like okay can I do i wait for the VR or do I just buy the

[24:06] PlayStation so I can play it when it comes out and August don’t wait for the VR think that’s because I’ve been my whole plans like okay I’ll just wait for

[24:15] the bundle get it all together but it’s like it’s like there’s a lot of extra months that could be totally immersed as a spaceman I’m to I’m too scared to go

[24:24] into the sensory deprivation like that close to a kid you know exactly what that’s exactly why I want to go to space deaf person a tip ovation that’s all I

[24:36] want is have to disappear man I just on the space no man sir like it’s just trevor being an ostrich you can about yeah babies on the Carter just cry like

[24:49] way just like it slowly like the helmet goes on yeah mmm the steam goes Valley yeah man august i think that comes out now yeah with like

[25:04] i said gold so interesting that one to the I think this space is what six gigs he said with six gigs in almost all audio because it’s all personally

[25:15] generated right so it’s just like an algorithm sitting in their freaking for comparison quantum break was forty four gigs yeah yeah it’s like heavy man

[25:25] entire universe in six gigs yeah in an hour worth of don’t download that’s unbelievable go catch a mall or ever yeah could pick if I could fit on my

[25:37] phone is perfect yeah the so yeah so I wanted to mention i had a first time experience or just really excited about i’m curious to see if it continues to go

[25:50] or not but i played a video game with my wife my like first time ever like it was graduation i’ve said i’ve tried before like except i’ve tried at very bad

[26:00] angles i think i remember when mentioning me use in an earlier episode yeah yeah that gives having some bad decisions awful is the worst of

[26:10] decisions so she’s not had a great introduction to it by the way i said like you know i’d be curious he won’t try this game with me and she’s like a

[26:17] video games i’m like no no let me let me set this up like this is you know set in the late 80s Early 90s it’s a man who has given up everything and moved to the

[26:28] force to be a park ranger he’s currently going through a very difficult separation with his wife this is him trying to sort everything out so he goes

[26:35] out into the forest then things start to unravel and a mystery unfolds and what put like that it was kind of like okay all right like it was pitched much more

[26:44] long like remember how much you liked breaking bad or all these other shows like it’s kind of like that except it’s a little bit more interactive yeah you

[26:54] want to watch an animated series that I’m going to pilot okay yes basically like you’re going to control and that’s some of the games that I like playing

[27:05] Lindsey’s actually gotten into watching um so like my wife will sit and like the last of us she thoroughly enjoyed she watched last of us like was

[27:15] a TV show um and like I would feel bad playing it without her so like I made sure that it’s like if I’m gonna play it she’s gonna be around because she wants

[27:23] to know what’s gonna happen next to the characters um and then yeah so that’s cool so Noah’s was your wife’s playing or was it so what was I geez oh did we

[27:34] mention the game you just call you Bozek you know what you’re talking about Firewatch actually it’s fire watch which mega says it like that’s Stuart the

[27:43] writing is fantastic like the voice work is phenomenal this thing really does play like a series and it helps that the graphics are as beautiful as they are

[27:52] but also is approachable so it’s not trying to be cutting-edge realistic it’s much more artistic in that sense as far as a bit of a paintbrush approach to it

[28:01] all the rocks and rock formations in that game are made from like five boulders real really destroyed yeah there was a the art director did a talk

[28:12] for GC and it’s on their archive and yeah they basically just like for all the rock formations and stuff they just repurpose and scaled a variety of

[28:22] different rock shapes that they created and they were able to get so much mileage due to just overlapping and combining these rocks and just a

[28:30] duplicate and twist and rotating like they’re able to make full-on formations just from these few rocks it’s just amazing sort of stuff of their allah

[28:39] make and just being very economical with it and yeah that came it’s it’s not trying to be photo real but the art direction and just the design choices in

[28:52] it visually or some of the best i’ve ever seen it’s just yeah as he said Trevor it’s just it’s it’s a pleasure to watch mm-hmm I just and the core

[29:01] mechanic is interesting to just for me as a gamer it wouldn’t mean as much what’s great for her is it because of all the dialogue choices and as you’re

[29:07] constantly throughout the game you are constantly talking to this other Ranger and that’s really how the story gets moved along but with that comes choices

[29:15] so are you going to be a dick are you going to be kind of quirky and funny like what’s how are you going to approach this

[29:22] melton that’s just spam the red button the whole gang this is who is I’ll try and change me and I found it the hard way that there’s uh there’s actually

[29:32] limit you can’t mass effect it just sit there forever let them stare like you have a time limit to respond to some things because I blew it the first night

[29:42] this other Ranger was trying to get to know us and I just we didn’t answer because I didn’t know that was a case because we were discussing which answer

[29:48] we wanted to go with he’s like okay I guess you don’t feel like talking guess we’ll see you tomorrow you have enough you’re like no we should pick this one

[29:55] no we should hoody uh man so I’ll keep posted out it might have been a one-off and in fact she didn’t really like you very much i got she asked afterwards and

[30:05] she really did seem to enjoy it so I mean it could be the gateway into these type of experiences guys certainly have been enjoying this game so that could

[30:14] now be a thing that we do mm-hmm I know there’s a lot of games that I pick that are like I will decide whether it’s a game I want to play action I think I

[30:26] mentioned this in a previous episode that i wanted i was debating whether to get fire watch for the pc or for playstation because if i get up to the

[30:34] PlayStation I know my wife can sit and experience it with me and we can play together a lot more comfortably because we can sit on the couch together or as

[30:42] the pc it’s kind of a one chair experience and it’s not as comfortable to experience that together yeah i could set stuff up this room on the TV but i

[30:50] also just don’t have the time or the care yeah to do so so yeah it’s at but the other are certain games with one until dawn it’s like a horror okay you

[31:04] know how to keep all the teenagers alive um narrative form Avenger yeah it’s like an interact or movie where it’s just choices that you’re making and you know

[31:15] the typical sort of like slasher film like teenagers making bad decisions and just trying to trying to like Corral them away from the bad decisions but

[31:26] usually just right into a different bad decision but that’s one that I wanted to pick up sometime soon to play you know a lot

[31:34] hi my wife because I think that would be a lot of fun for us is sort of like figure that out like she’s pretty good with horror movies like you know

[31:43] especially ones that are a little bit more like tongue-in-cheek like scream more like cabin in the woods stuff like that where it’s not quite as its

[31:53] horrifying but not horrific I guess is a way of describing like something looks like it’s scary it’s bloody and ah well someone got stabbed but it’s not

[32:02] something where it’s like like hostile which is like this is just wrong haha hell yeah park we push the human gross nasaan this particular thing yeah but so

[32:18] yeah I think picking games that are good spectator games I guess is kind of a way of describing them like finding good spectator games uncharted is a good

[32:27] series for that anything naughty dog does is usually a fun thing to sit and watch and then eventually you’ll be able to lure her into something like Diablo

[32:36] which is fantastic couch co-op um we did like almost two full playthroughs together on that like that just feels like such a that’s a long shot that

[32:51] feels a bridge sofa too far it just feels so far Oh like like she had never played a role playing game before like this was her first time diving into any

[33:01] kind of that style of game and she totally grasped it nice and quick and she picked like the type of character she wanted to play and got so into it

[33:12] especially with all the different gear that you could equip your character with like she was always trying to find this balance between fashion and

[33:19] functionality so she was trying to find what the outfits and like she wanted her character to look really cool and badass but she also to make sure her stats were

[33:28] good too as like all of us do when we’re playing it so she totally got bit by that bug in an RPG where’s that you want to craft an awesome looking character

[33:36] but also a character that’s going to play really well too um it was about halfway through our first playthrough will be discovered be good bye um like

[33:45] died to like our coordinate our outfits so we spent a whole evening just like a movie that’s great yeah so and we would ever swaption

[33:57] we would like trade equipment and stuff too or like she would pick up something that my character could use and I pick up something that her character reviews

[34:04] we just you know typical Diablo trade saw or everybody just throws crap on the floor and then walks through those side of the room and picks it up but no it

[34:14] was a really fun game to play together because of it it was great on the console because the controllers how were well mapped for it and just felt like it

[34:23] just felt good it was very spammy and fun and you know she played at a distance with like a like a very magic heavy character and I was more like a

[34:34] punchy punchy character and between the two of us we really tore things up it was it was good she was just Chuck and lightning and I was just punching

[34:41] everything in the face and it was a lot of fun but also like narrative ones are fun too because it’s like I decide like well how do I do this like what should

[34:51] we do how do we respond we’d better make up our minds where they’re going to hang up on us ok that’s the unit actually Jeff that kind of brings up a question

[35:00] the have you ever found a game that your kids are willing to spectate you play games ever something you ever tried cuz it’s something that’s like struck me is

[35:10] like it’d be great if I could distract him with something that I want to be distracted with also yeah there was when my son was younger he was katamari cuz

[35:22] yeah I was cracked when the ball because you would just roll a ball over stuff and pick up our stuff and you get bigger and bigger and bigger so you used to

[35:29] clap at all the stuff i would pick up and i’m making a mess and bashing buildings around and getting bigger and bigger and bigger and it the whole thing

[35:39] is like brightly colored quirky sounds it’s got sound racist song on the soundtrack on that game was like dad exactly on time in my head right now

[35:51] it’s perfect but soon that katamari they just flooded yeah my head and now i want to play it and i bet i bet like yeah that actually would be a great one for

[36:00] babies too because like my daughter lo his music I’m sure she would just be dancing away to that were cows um yeah that’s a good one that’s the one I’ve

[36:10] tried i haven’t tried anything else anything else my oldest has played so like tear away and all that stuff he’s kind of interactive with but katamari

[36:19] was a good one I remember using that one on him what about chatter like the Raymond Williams like Rayman legends was beautiful rayman legends we played that

[36:28] one um together I think you have up to four players so he was proud of that one as well but he loved the the animated style of it mm-hmm because it is again

[36:37] so colorful so well like like just fluid and yeah the character would react to your environment that was another one actually that was good spose co-op

[36:47] Raymond hey man that was a lot of fun we had a great time together with that one seems a little technically challenging no doesn’t acquire like a certain about

[36:56] deafness no it’s just a platformer it’s if you can play Donkey Kong you can play it yeah and the like that like the checkpoint system I guess you call it is

[37:05] pretty pretty good yeah it is pretty women yeah try again yeah it can be challenging at times but it has a good learning curve and like if I guess if

[37:15] you let the other person who might not have played many games in the past if they cut their teeth on something like Mario first and then you slowly work

[37:23] your way from like a Mario to a donkey kong to a Rayman you know these sort of that Trek then that would probably work well and it has the music stages right

[37:33] is that the one with the music stages there’s one where you collect stuff like you jump to the notes and it makes a those yeah maybe that’s not legends

[37:42] maybe it’s something else but they’re all learning together for me but that was pretty fun that was a good one too macadam re definitely some there’s it I

[37:51] heard rumor with like a new one coming home it would soon like or it’s like in the works and oh really a day I saw a mobile version it wasn’t very good yeah

[38:01] it’s not the same but yeah if there’s another one coming out definitely a time for it it’s just really easy to get into right a low barrier of entry just go

[38:09] around have fun it don’t want to be in here so I’m just what you do is you see take your phone and you hold it in front of your face and based

[38:17] on whatever items you see you can roll those up into a wall may just running around the street with your phone picking up stuff see we got a game let’s

[38:26] do it it’s like Luke new dad gaming co we got to start building games you know everything ruining lives somebody gettin arrested next to like a big wad of duct

[38:38] tape and raccoons it’s a baby someday yeah that’s ago when I rescue about the same time you solved the raccoon problem yes this one further world peace just

[38:53] one by one these game is there anything these AR games can’t do I know so how do you know that super happy raccoon ball would be such a hit but here we are

[39:04] pending okay that speaking of world peace gentlemen do you have beer picks for the week I do um I did great lakes brewery called connect pale ale it has a

[39:25] fancy lumberjack gentleman it’s nice it’s very it’s what i like about it is it’s hoppy at first and then it doesn’t linger usually hoppy beers you get that

[39:36] kind of thing going on the back your tongue you don’t get that with this it’s very clean finish nice and smooth and yeah i actually had it earlier in the

[39:47] weekend and I was like that is good i will get another one for the podcast and yeah that’s that’s a good sign the rebuy is always a good sign yeah yeah it made

[39:56] it even on second pass it it does it so um yeah I’ve had great lakes brewery stuff before and they’re usually you know on point so yeah I thought I’d try

[40:10] that out and actually i think i saw the canned jeff has as being a can that i I’d up but i didn’t get so conductors craft ale you know by junction craft

[40:22] brewing and i think Toronto yeah its junction in the junction but yeah a good beer and five percent it’s good tasting like it’s a good base beer

[40:36] I would call it like there’s nothing it tastes very similar to a lot of other beers I’ve had again a little hoppy a little good kids going on nice and cold

[40:45] I like it it’s good probably buy it again too um yeah i like the little graphic like a little guy yeah that’s the one thing I’ve been liking about

[40:54] these smaller round Nipponese is the big they’re really having fun with all labels there was one that I didn’t get a chance to get uh and I kicked myself

[41:05] still um there was a beer small batch release called a robo hop yes types I saw it I saw it today I was gonna get it is it again yeah its own yeah yeah at

[41:17] least have a grocery store yeah it isn’t all right okay yeah cuz I saw it like I think last year and is my chance to get it may be what’s called hot pot maybe

[41:26] that was it was that the same I don’t know well it literally had like a Robocop on the cocker but it was made of hops yes yeah yeah yeah okay alright if

[41:35] i can get it i’ll see if okay i’ll go hunting too we’re all gonna show up with really connection yes three times a robo hot that’s amazing yeah oh yeah you that

[41:46] it’s back in the wild as i got them so first time to ask for a bit of help i’m trying to member have I talked on the podcast because I have a couple in the

[41:57] hopper just in case have I talked on the podcast about side launch mmm don’t think so i’m gonna say knock it have I talked on it have I talked to my podcast

[42:09] about heyday no no this is it so these are both beers and this is this would be the kicker that it tastes they have tastes of banana and clothes I’ve ever

[42:19] talked about this you know I have tea time with side launch is how you yeah yeah I’ve tasted that one okay because I have literally been to the lcbo and

[42:30] without exaggeration for about five weeks running and I cannot find it they every single time they have the placement for

[42:39] so it’s at and I in my mind I’m Jessica are you just toying with people and you’ve actually stopped ordering it because they have the other one they

[42:47] have another side launch is the actual brewer yeah the beer I’m talking about specifically is wheat that’s in the yellow can yeah it was one it’s one of

[42:56] the more surprising beers I’ve ever had as far as flavor so it’s a wheat beer again kind of like a bit of a summer thing for me but it’s got these flavors

[43:05] of banana and cloves which sound bizarre but somehow works out to be so delicious and refreshing like it’s such a calming beautiful beer and very much a beer like

[43:16] you almost say banana and clove and you think it’s not going to be beer enough but it certainly is it’s beer first and man it’s just fantastic is one of my

[43:24] surprise fines and I always try to get it and I cannot find it for weeks now I got I don’t know what is going on with that if it’s just flowing off the

[43:32] shelves you’re too close to the west end I bet you lookin in another neighborhood you find it I try I try to like I work downtown like Drake that right downtown

[43:43] and it’s not there downtown I see it all the time yeah ring send me some but ain’t like start shopping in like uh like molson and like uh you know MGD

[43:58] territory yeah like I want to find that territory all right what’s what’s funny is that I remember that beer i got it for a beer advent calendar my wife gave

[44:10] me so she gave me 24 days before Christmas 24 beers it was all different tall boys and i facebooked each one with my light comments so that i could go out

[44:20] later and say you know which ones did I like which ones I didn’t so I brought up my notes on that one and I’ll straight quote it’s like licking a raspberry bush

[44:29] not even sure how I got this butts beer is too fruity for my liking keep it in collingwood will keep calling it was made in collingwood right it’s the

[44:40] yellow jug side launch Brewing Company the wheat one Wow and the raspberry though rather a Jewish I don’t know why did you get raspberry I don’t know

[44:48] that’s my notes and I’m sticking by that Oh please I can try it again as a challenge we can try it again yeah if you can find

[44:57] it Juno yes do it that’s challenge accepted yeah so sassy when a can of beer review yeah that was I cause one of them was it was just awful I can’t take

[45:09] the I can’t take fruity in my beer I can take hoppy maybe it’s the fruity this one’s certainly fruity the problem I think best far as though as funny as it

[45:20] is I would in some ways not even classified bananas fruity a lot of times we think fruity I think it’s more like the berries of the mangoes or that kind

[45:27] of exotic fruits bananas more oatmeal and like basic raspberry especial oh I know my palette pal five people given like the other sassiness of your post it

[45:40] might have been your six beer in so I don’t kick you got the right one yeah day 9 of 24 so and you might even do it some catching up so the so you think the

[45:49] other one I’m trying to find that little I try to find this one as well there’s another beer that has a very similar profile it’s from granville island it’s

[45:58] called heyday heyy heyday exact same profile so it’s got the bananas got the cloves it’s the weep here if you can’t find one you could very easily

[46:08] substitute it for the other another one that I have not been able to find recently just weeks over week so i did a Gavin said maybe it’s just the ones i’m

[46:17] going to it’s it’s a type of fruity nonsense beers that people seem to like where I’m going but yeah ooh man Jeff anything Levi 20 miles of Trinity

[46:28] Bellwoods Park like that that area so they’re going to get all of those really like interesting like fruit citrus note beers they’re just going to get psycho

[46:39] my goodness I just thought about God can you imagine with that park like tonight with Pokemon go it since I check it out check it at home it’s like shortly oh

[46:47] that be should you should go on the function for Pokemon players hunters here like in here just like you’re just taking photos of them yes I got your 55

[47:02] year old you got your 18 year old punky got you thirty-five-year-old hipster got your bowler cap you got your nose shirt you

[47:09] got you yep actually it was a in the elevator yesterday there was a guy who was talking about he was scared to go to a local gym because he wasn’t a high

[47:21] enough level yet you have to battle it at Jim’s which are other points on the map yeah so it’s like there’s a good life fitness like two blocks away and

[47:29] he’s like yeah we can’t walk to the restaurant this way cuz I’ll be walking by the good life and I don’t want to get challenged to a fight I can’t win I’m

[47:36] like hey this is this is a conversation that two grown men are having in my elevator because his squirtle is in a high enough level so he could walk by

[47:49] the goodlife fitness safely altering his life this is beautiful it’s like it’s life-altering gameplay yeah and almost tragically so no man I can’t go down

[48:06] there why why there’s like a level 42 squirtle I’m not sure I can do it let’s cam yet you can do this role you could do this job with like for the guys no

[48:15] sale arias yes just like it’s like it’s a schoolyard thing again it’s like I can’t walk down that Street to go home after school why it’s like all Derek’s

[48:24] on that street will give me a wedgie leave this nose charmander’s and squirtle’s I’ll go uh-huh but yeah it was so 99 floors of elevator ride just

[48:36] watching these two guys have this like super stone-cold serious conversation about the crippling fear this one man had a bit walking by a good life fitness
