[0:00] I had one I liked it I one it’s the best drink I’ve ever had you guys going back that’s my beer pick of the week spice latte

[0:14] wow all right let’s roll into it we’re already

[0:27] there the adult beverages have po the kidss are asleep welcome to New dad gaming a show about fatherhood gaming and new fathers figuring out their

[0:36] gaming lives my name is Trevor and I have a one-year-old my name is Gavin and I have a one-year-old and I’m Jeff I got a three-year-old and my six-year-old is

[0:44] back oh doubled kids how how do you possibly handle it now that your kid total has doubled I know it’s we’re back to Norm especially

[0:57] this weekend with it being a long weekend and I have two kids running around going crazy so yeah but you’re like a couple days away from school yeah

[1:07] that’s yeah that’s a whole other it’s when you have kids you don’t realize that you’re making lunches like for like 12

[1:15] years that’s that’s your job now is you’re making lunch wait 12 year okay I’m trying to like do the math like wait cuz I was assuming like as of

[1:25] zero so after they turn 12 like you’re on your own just well I might cut that back you know you’re you’re eight years old now get out there and earn your own

[1:34] lunch Jeff your son continues to show up to school with just a spoon of peanut butter for lunch uh firstly peanut butter is not allowed in this

[1:43] school secondly we debate the nutritional value of this teaching them Street smarts go get your own yeah dougy Doug world this is

[1:53] your rent uh you have to walk a lot of dogs uh probably cut a bunch of grass and uh yeah you’ll find me to be a very fair landlord keep it going

[2:04] yeah but I’m not going to go easy on you just cuz I’m your father so pay me now no so gentlemen how was your week in fatherhood and gaming Gavin uh good um

[2:21] gaming still working away through Mad Max I am enjoying it thoroughly it’s probably up there with one of my favorite games of the year um I find

[2:33] it’s the grinding in it is buried and rewarding uh the world itself is nice and realized it feels very madmax like just the terminology they use all that

[2:45] stuff it’s it’s really good um and making that car oh customizing building upgrading that car and then like using like the Nitro boost to just like cut

[2:57] another car in half like it’s very CTIC the vehicle combat is really fun and the hand to hand combat is pretty solid like it’s it’s kind of like Arkham nsh um

[3:09] there’s one kind of button pairing that I wish they hadn’t have done because uh they have a certain prompt that also coincides with a button that will use a

[3:20] consumable um oh so it’s it’s resources are so limited I kind of wish that that prompt was maybe with the other button that uses consumables but that’s like

[3:30] such a minor grievance it’s like the game’s fun it’s really fun um yeah and uh started playing a bit of uh alone with you um but not alone

[3:42] playing it with my wife uh which is fun so uh it’s also the harsh the hard harshest critic of all oh yeah really hard it’s really hard to play it because

[3:52] it’s like I just look at it and like I’m really really happy and proud with what we did but like you know it’s you’re looking at your own works like oh if I

[4:00] had done that differently and it’s like you know it’s never done kind of thing but uh but still I’m really pleased with how it’s all come together like feels

[4:08] really solid yeah I’m enjoying it but yeah still and still just diing m Max uh got back into watching Archer because really yeah like I wanna so I did um

[4:22] that’s it end of story uh as far as fatherhood um good had a really solid day with baby yesterday uh we kind of have our Saturdays

[4:31] together which is great um because Mama’s off to work so it’s just uh baby and me so it’s good um yeah we had a solid day uh trying to think any sort of

[4:43] Adventure just been going on lots of walks and stuff going the park playing on swings uh going down slides you know General fun stuff stuff I do anyways you

[4:52] know I got a kid so um they look at you less funny yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah they’re not calling the cops as much um yeah I really can’t think of any uh

[5:05] big things we did do one thing today where okay she likes opening drawers and pulling out all the DVDs that are in the drawers lovely and then stomping on them

[5:15] yeah which is great and like setting them up and I’m tripping on them and like it was minor irritation for my wife and it was

[5:24] driving me mad so uh I rearranged some stuff so now we have those stored in another area that is a little bit less interesting to her and then those

[5:34] drawers I just filled them with her toys so it’s like those are now her toy drawers so when she got up from her nap and open up the drawer expecting to see

[5:41] like this row of DVDs that she can just fling out she uh was met with like just some stuffed animals and she was like kind of look confused minorly

[5:53] disappointed and then she’s like toys just started throwing around again so uh so yeah yeah know today was a good day too because it was like the whole family

[6:01] was home uh we got some just general chores done uh CAD tip uh go grocery shopping or everybody else yeah it’s a good tip I like that yeah this morning I

[6:16] went out like I was actually sorry gav can I can I could you turn down the TV a bit oh yeah sure they’re watching Archer leave them

[6:28] alone yeah how’s that is that good that’s much yeah that’s much better all right cool I’ll spce this up afterwards so yeah get it uh newad so start at new

[6:40] Dead tip so yeah uh new Dead tip uh go grocery shopping early on a Sunday um because either everybody’s at church or everybody who doesn’t go to church is

[6:51] sleeping it off and um so no no uh Sunday morning is a really good time at least in my neighborhood the grocery store I like to

[7:02] go to I was there by about 8:30 9:00 and the place was like Ghost Town um also everything’s restocked so that’s fantastic so many times I try to find

[7:12] things on sale and it’s on sale but not in stock so doesn’t matter um so yeah no it was it was really good and yeah I also got to swing by the uh gas station

[7:22] get some stuff done with the car and uh whatnot topped up on fuel couple things cleaned so uh cars happy fridge is full Pantry bustling food all sorts of

[7:34] goodness um yeah it was uh it was very effective when I was home by like a little after 10 and that was just done the rest of the world a week and

[7:46] then yeah that’s I bet everybody else is because that’s the thing I just I don’t like crowds that much like I don’t mind crowds but like I just don’t like

[7:53] crowded grocery stores not a grocery store yeah it’s horrible like I’ll go to a crowded convention or like an amusement park or the zoo or something

[8:02] like that’s fine with me but uh I get I get little punch happy at the grocery store so I try to find times where it’s like I can just do this in peace and uh

[8:14] not deal with like the aisles being clogged with just people not knowing how to navigate three-dimensional space and and and really this weekend is

[8:25] a long weekend and school starts after the long weekend well the py day and then it starts yeah it’s pretty much just real life Mad Max but

[8:36] inside of a grocery store it was torn up and I don’t know your grocery store but mine there was no milk left like everything was like rooted out of the

[8:44] doors like people just running back and forth yeah yeah it was nuts oh mine they like I met me at the door and gave me some slippers like no I thought it was

[8:53] Walking Dead I thought coffee there’s apocalypse or something happened yeah I know I we have entirely different experiences

[9:01] which is funny too because like I live more within like the major Metropolitan core and you live more in an area that’s maybe that’s why though it’s like your

[9:10] area has a far denser family population yeah it could be like I live in a neighborhood full of a lot of like singles and a lot of yuppies um you know

[9:22] but like not a lot of like getting well there are a few getting ready for school families but I think it was also I just was lucky was like well I’m up anyways

[9:31] might as go to grocery store I just picture you just like sauntering with like grocery music grocery store music and and I’m in there fighting for my

[9:38] life trying to get the daily special yeah just just punching the Dentures out of some poor old lady give me that that didn’t happen folks just to let you know

[9:49] Jeff wouldn’t punch the dentur of an old lady look he learned his lesson the first time it’s not going to happen again Jeff works with his hands so he

[9:56] would kick he would kick the dentur that’s right use a shopping cart maybe ex yeah we were so so the podcast here was late starting because I had actually

[10:08] realized sitting here perfectly comfortable and happy like oh that was a big day just gonna kick back relax before the

[10:15] podcast oh wait tomorrow’s holiday oh wait that means nothing’s gon to be open oh wait I’m having supposed to be having a barbecue and I have to feed people

[10:26] damn it that’s a quick Google search like okay what place is open the nearby one is and just like like tearing off trying

[10:34] to get there in time fortunately this place again much like actually Gavin’s experience it was relatively dead like it was not a lot of activity decent

[10:42] amount of people but and and this place is going to be open till like 11: apparently tonight so like I just tore off like a Dickens I was expecting the

[10:51] apocalypse but but it was actually relatively calm and they were talking they the thing is in my head I’m thinking like there’s probably going to

[11:00] be some grocery stores open tomorrow but I just don’t want to take that chance because I have people showing up supp to feed them it’s just like gas stations

[11:08] open yeah you don’t want to be like getting your your hosting groceries at like shoer drugar yeah I hope you like Fanta here you go

[11:21] again just hamburgers made out of just rage pressed tuna oh I that’d be a Fancy Feast indeed

[11:34] let’s just say that but uh hope you like your deconstructed Wonderbread tuna casserole oh God this is getting worse Jeff savus

[11:46] how was uh your week in fatherhood and gaming um gaming I did the battlefield One beta was it’s more of the

[11:56] same like me and Gavin instantly like oh no I’ll level you it was nice it was nice it’s pretty but when you’re I don’t

[12:08] know there’s a sense of realism to battlefields um like the game itself there’s a and how often you die well yeah like okay there’s horses in this

[12:18] one so you can ride a horse with a sword and you’re facing tanks World War I tanks and they take a couple shots to come down so I’m like well I don’t know

[12:28] you shoot a horse horse goes down yeah you can’t multiple shoot a horse but I guess that would be too easy and be done with it so I like how Jeff speaks as if

[12:38] it’s like experience Invincible oh but the best part I I do hope that everyone gets in on the beta before it’s over the

[12:49] glitches are awesome yeah there’s been like people riding invisible horses that go across the map there’s people been flying that like on top of planes oh

[13:00] it’s amazing and they still have like in Battlefield I think three or four they had like a huge neck glitch guy oh I remember that yeah so he’s

[13:10] back that feels like it’s on purpose yeah brought as a nod little wink a nod Easter egg into there but yeah it’s more the same I don’t know it’s World War I

[13:20] doesn’t feel any different to me but I just like how Battlefield and Call of Duty have just like gone so different directions

[13:31] I’m glad right you be like it’s like okay more Modern Combat shooting okay fine but the fact that it’s like it’s like we’re gonna go back to the Advent

[13:40] of like trench warfare yeah and then the others are like we’re going to space we put bullets in space and lasers like okay fine why why not like yeah

[13:53] they’re kind of heading towards Borderlands really like if you follow the trajectory yeah yeah totally out there right it’ be nice to I would like

[14:02] to see Modern War modern war no Modern Warfare wolf wolfir I think Modern Warfare turn in it’d be great if it was like really incredibly

[14:15] well received like critically like from Gamers and such like everybody gets into this one because it’s just it’s used as a kicking boy of the gaming industry

[14:23] it’s like uh like Call of Duty and Modern Warfare and like you know it’s just it’s such fodder for or throw away insults towards gaming it’d be kind of

[14:32] nice to see this thing come back and just like take like just win the year like this game is just what you have to play this year like well the thing about

[14:40] it is like it’s it’s it’s Modern Warfare and like the Call of Duty franchise like it’s they’ve always been two games in the sense of like you have your

[14:52] signal player and you have your multiplayer so like the single player campaigns I’ve actually always really enjoyed those in Call of Duty like it’s

[15:01] been I found them fun little narrative you know uh firearm whack-a-mole kind of deal but like it’s it was enjoyable it was some cool stuff some really

[15:14] interesting set pieces like when the Eiffel Tower came down like oh that’s intense um wait oh my God wait was that Battlefield I think it might

[15:26] be CU like I’m not sure because I only really played the battlefield ones but I don’t know they’re both like Michael B said pieces right yeah exactly exactly

[15:38] it’s it’s plausible I think that’s and that brings us back to the previous point it’s good that they’re diverging yeah’s going like with old historic

[15:46] combat and that the other one’s going so sci-fi that those moments of like yeah that scene where the eiel tower fell and wait was that like we’re gonna have less

[15:56] of those moments thankfully um yeah I like space stuff I like his stor stuff but I just I don’t know whether is it g to have a single

[16:06] player Battlefield uh I think so yeah but I don’t know what they’ll roll out with it’s cool like they have like in-game weather effects that roll in so

[16:16] in you’re in the desert as the demo map and the Desert Storm Will Roll in so anybody that’s a sniper is screwed um and then you’re going through

[16:24] the storm and if you’re in a plane it’s like I don’t know like you don’t know where the bullets are coming from but yeah yeah or what the ground is it’s

[16:32] mostly the same to me I don’t know yeah but that’s the thing it’s like it’s a lot of people really like that and they got an

[16:41] audience did you play any of the Battlefront yeah yeah yeah does it have that feel to it as well like very much so kind of a that frostbite engine yeah

[16:52] not see it so like it has the engine and then it has even like the menu screens like so the whole aesthetic has kind of been carried over um and so when you

[17:01] you’re loading it you’re like wait what game did I just boot up here cuz it looks almost same be hilarious if in the one um at the desert level like the

[17:12] people on horse pack like they just they they just spawn in a random Tonton no one knows any different like nobody knows it’s just like you see like

[17:21] a bunch of people in horse back and one of them a Tonton wait what is that perfect for like somebody get sniped by like one of like the tuskan Raiders you

[17:31] see you sell that as DLC you’re missing the opportunity quit EA yeah feel B about putting that out into the ether in case they catch it

[17:44] yeah let’s let’s redact that let’s uh remove that we’ll go back yeah can we edit that too please instead the thought has been thought let it’s in there yeah

[17:56] let’s not let’s just remember they’re l now yeah so the um so so you would you not at this stage you would not buy Battlefield one no it’s too much the

[18:07] same like I got Battlefield 4 for five bucks recently on a flash sale so and that’s well populated I’ll be there for a while if I want to pop in just there’s

[18:18] not enough different stuff for me yet see what they do beld for was a solid balance and it had some really nice Maps where uh yeah as you said like the

[18:27] weather effects still changing like they did that in Battlefield 4 where there’s one where there was like a flooding effect and then it became like uh Street

[18:35] combat to like boats it basically just turns it into Venice yeah um and there’s another one like a yeah that was that was

[18:43] a catch Levolution oh it’s like a Trevor word mobular mular mobular Revolution by Doritos

[19:02] so how about uh fatherhood there Jeff how was your week oh fatherhood uh we had a good um oh right I’m was busy in World War I one second I have to go feed

[19:13] them I uh hold on let me just be back in a second um we had dog but not the kids oh crap they’re in the car um we

[19:25] had our first um kid Heist well not kidnapping we might need to work on that terminology there Jeff but kid inspired you didn’t go you didn’t go to

[19:36] jail so where are they we had an organized crime carried out by the kids um my wife and I were in um the family room cleaning up um while

[19:49] the kids were downstairs watching TV for a bit because we keep them busy we can do our own thing clean up the house it’s great everybody wins um so my young

[19:58] young us comes up with a mouthful of food and we’re like um where what are you eating well cuz first first thought is like oh my God he’s gotten into

[20:07] poison or something just a mouthful of it what he’s foaming he’s twitching but uh he’s like don’t worry it’s all gone and

[20:20] we’re like what are you talking about and we could see in his hand it was like granola bar like neutr grain bar and I went to the kitchen we have a cupboard

[20:27] pretty close by um opened it and a full box of neutr bars so six Bars were gone so we walk downstairs and we saw all the rappers on the couch

[20:43] so he my youngest snuck up stairs into the room that we were working in went into the cupboard got the granola bars out deliver them to my older son

[20:54] downstairs who’s probably you know saying right he’s pulling the strings schematics snuck them down there and

[21:04] they ate them while they watched TV and then they Wonder bro give you 20% yeah so that was our first like uh experience of them kind of

[21:16] teaming up and you like a united front he’s so gangster about it too he’s like uh wor what’s in your mouth don’t worry about

[21:25] it hey don’t worry about it you didn’t see nothing he slides you a neutr green bar you didn’t see nothing all right told Jimmy

[21:33] to suck a lemon I don’t know he won’t say anything like um but no was uh we were kind of laughing and also angry because we just talked about grocery

[21:44] shopping that was one thing that was bought for uh you know breakfast snacks or something I’m not going back out in that Madness yeah yeah but it was well

[21:53] pulled off I I’ll give him that like you just did that like walking dead fight yeah it’s like you got all that stuff and you came back and then it’s like you

[22:02] turn around and Glen drinks all the water like with no remorse just like No Remorse oh you wanted some of this that

[22:11] wasn’t for me I couldn’t have all of it g now don’t worry about it don’t worry about it so that was a yeah that was a good experience but that’s enough for my

[22:20] fatherhood like kind of terrifying I mean like geez like now that they’re gonna they’re gonna team up yeah you’re doomed now man I know three I mean it

[22:29] grows from here their relationship is like Blood Brothers now and all going to come back to that one moment remember that time we pulled that off we pulled

[22:39] that off we can pull we can do anything now like we pulled that off we can do it’s like they just did their Oceans 11 they got so many more oceans

[22:48] now I think the bigger man it’s just like that’s the decoy he wants to get angry at them with granola bars cuz in fact they’ve actually stolen yeah I

[22:57] don’t know some other better food testing the waters Jeff maybe maybe just double check your credit card balance

[23:08] yes why do you guys all have four game boys now I don’t understand he knows the code to the iPad too so I I’m watching him I’m watching

[23:18] him anyway that was it was exciting and I don’t know not um one quick note is uh uh forgot to mention this baby did something really

[23:30] one of those like the laugh and then you’re also like kind of upset but you’re too busy laughing um she had got a hold of a blueberry that had fallen

[23:38] behind her high chair during breakfast so she grabbed it and then she was like just kind of walking and she walks with her arms up kind of like she’s flexing

[23:46] because it’s a gun show but she had the blueberry pointed outward and then she just went pie it just like did like a perfect line of blueberry all down a

[23:56] curtain oh and it’s like my wife’s trying to catch her and she’s like yeah just like a so I I was there

[24:08] with like a cute tip just cleaning their stuff while the the girls were finishing their dinner but yeah it was one of those moments were like that is

[24:15] hilarious now I have an hour of work yeah so uh that yeah that reminded me of that today but that was my that was my week

[24:27] hopefully Trevor is better Y no no no no look at that we’ll lead it off with the lead it off with a question of the uh have you ever found yourself becoming

[24:39] that which you hate oh wow escalated quickly yeah because the uh nothing that bad but it’s just

[24:50] the moon just a vot oh this is so we went to being foolish we went went to the CN and the zoo this weekend um cuz one’s not enough yeah why not why what

[25:06] I’ve done some bad things why not punish myself a whole bunch on a holiday weekend it too we were gonna go to the zoo last Wednesday but we’re like yeah

[25:16] it’s too close to the weekend it’s gonna be nuts it’s like the last week so we’re like we’re gonna go to the zoo after all the kids go to school but then you’re

[25:24] like no I’m going to go right when just we’re in the thick of it yeah yeah so it um o overall honestly like what they both went pretty well like so I will

[25:34] like give that kind of a overarching statement about it I think the see there’s not really much to do and that is

[25:40] a I don’t know when it got into everyone’s head that this was a decent family activity but like like just the cost of it like it’s yeah for us to get

[25:49] in and the best part like he gets in free at this point but for to park in cuz he can’t do anything though he gets in free because he can’t do

[25:58] even like but even that the entrance fee gets you like nothing it gets you the ability to buy items to do things like pay for games or pay for rides and the

[26:09] and for instance like so was it cost us 75 bucks for two of us to get in and to park it’s a little bit on us because we

[26:18] drove but at the same time like the the cars were we you couldn’t do it they were just absolutely jam-packed we between that and Fan Expo and all this

[26:26] other stuff like so and this is just right at the place so it’s like 75 bucks for us to get in we’re not even paying for the kid yet

[26:34] and that’s nothing that that that gets you into the place where now you can like buy like what we did get and what was a lot of fun is we got to go to the

[26:45] farm exhibit so just a bunch of farm animals um what’s great is he’s learned how to move like a cow so he SE a cow and he moves and that’s hilarious um

[26:53] less hilarious is when he sees a chicken and he also moves or when he when he sees a donkey or sheep and he moves at them it’s so smart he’s mooing

[27:02] at a cow and then the next oh there we go he just keeps throwing it at animals hoping this is the right one and it’s just not most of the time Hey look it’s

[27:12] a chicken Mo no it’s not that’s a that’s a failing grade so far de

[27:22] son so it’s it’s just bizarre to me like the the sheer like the untenable cost of it like I’m just trying to imagine like a

[27:30] family if you had some 12-y olds and you want to bring them in like the cost like two of them I say just the cost to get them into the place without getting

[27:38] anything and then they of course want to go on rides and just someh they treat some of it so there was one thing he could do there was like this merry go

[27:45] around you know horses going up and down and a lot of parents are just taking their kids and putting it on top that looked really sweet you know that could

[27:51] have been a cool moment and we asked them about them like oh well no no you have to pay because you’ll be holding the kid you have to pay too

[27:59] that’s stupid so it cost four tickets and then that would be eight tickets four tickets was $5 so that was going so that twom minute

[28:09] mry gound thing was going to be $10 I’m never going I’m never going it’s just like it and you’re looking at it like fine like it feels like I can’t

[28:24] fathom how it’s got to this point and it’s still is just wall to wall people because because people like you do it yeah never again like that’s that

[28:35] is it like unless they like do something about like passes or some type of reasonable thing because even when he’s young I’m sure when he’s older he’ll

[28:42] want to go these type of things but have you taken them to Riverdale Farm yes yeah we taken that one too and that that one’s um uh what was it uh

[28:52] free including what’s that price oh free that’s right nothing yeah no he he M he moved at some pigs there so yeah

[29:05] we but so any that’s just a side rant about it and if anything it’s just honestly again like just one of seems to be my theme is where I’m kind of like

[29:13] sad and disappointed in things and that’s just where it’s like this seems like such it could be such a cool fun family thing to do and just it’s the

[29:21] price makes it so un approachable for so many folks that’s the thing though is that’s the lure that they put it like they put the Allure that it’s a fun

[29:28] family thing to do so many things can be a fun family thing to do but when they put it that allur it’s more to just draw in families because they also know too

[29:39] it’s like when you have a family you have like a substantial percentage of that group of people who are like I want I want I want and the other half being

[29:49] like just fine make it stop I can’t I need a second job to make this work yeah no money at the person that’s the Carney so and the reason I

[30:00] mentioned it and the zoo actually wasn’t that bad like it we went early we got there when it opened we got to see the pandas we barely had to wait in line

[30:08] that was he he was really excited for a lot of the animals that was a lot of fun uh and they’re a little bit better about once you pay to get in there’s a bunch

[30:15] of things you can just do oh yeah besides seeing the animals of course so that that was great that things like the going and getting food like the the

[30:22] concession stands there are pretty reasonably priced like we got to like those the hary queen one we got blizzard for a

[30:30] good price uh the Tim Horton is not inflated goodness oh yeah there’s a bunch of Tim Hortons that is there’s so many Tim uh actually that was one thing

[30:38] that we got for this summer is we actually got a uh a year membership so like and the parking pass nice um so we just go like pretty much whenever we

[30:50] feel like it um and with the parking pass and everything like we go and um we we might be out of pocket maybe 10 20 bucks as far as variable expense and

[31:03] that’s it um and then everything else is just there and something that uh she really digs and we like going to do it’s not too far of a drive for us and uh

[31:13] yeah we we actually really did the zoo it’s one of those few family outings where it’s not like the CN where it’s you get in and then it’s like oh well

[31:21] now what can we do well now you have the freedom to buy stuff yeah exactly that’s actually one of my uh the reasons that I find it like going to

[31:29] something like Fan Expo um I really enjoy going to Fan Expo um and I used to do tables at conventions which is a lot of fun and that’s actually the best way

[31:39] to do it is like get a table at erst alley because they have somewhere to hide take a break um but yeah like you go to these things and it’s like you pay

[31:47] admission to get into it but then like it’s like paying admission to a mall it’s like you’re in but you’re not going to do anything until you

[31:57] put more money forward and it’s yeah it’s it’s like a it’s like an app with microtransactions and pay walls and it’s like what do you do you know so

[32:07] it’s not the nice Premium One version where at least you get it for free yeah Wonderland but you pay to get in and then you got the rides yeah it’s

[32:16] like yeah sure you want some funnel cake they’re gonna charge you through the nose because they kind of got you over a barrel on that there’s no other funnel

[32:21] cake in town but like you still get to do the thing you pay to get into do yeah no that’s it’s always been a frustration it was just really brought

[32:32] home but the the main reason like the the for boting sentence I let off with was just the so we had a stroller and we had the kid and just us trying to just

[32:43] beat our way through crowds and crowds with this stroller and I’m feeling I feel awful this whole time you know on the one side it’s like I I kind of hope

[32:52] wish you people would just help a brother out and get out of the way the other it’s like what are you doing with a stroller at this thing right now like

[33:00] what are you thinking like what are you possibly thinking trying to careen a very wobbly four-wheel apparatus through this mob of people what is going through

[33:09] your head I would have go with the baby carrier myself oh he he would not accept that man there’s no way I forget to like and like I I don’t mean that I mean this

[33:19] in the gentlest way pile your kid is a tank he’s a fatty like not fat like kid’s just built like your kid is sturdy he’s so strong

[33:30] too because he he’s getting really to the point like it’s really getting dangerous because like if he doesn’t want to be held and he’s starting to

[33:36] push off you like it’s a it’s an actual battle now like go no you’re too high no I think he’s like clocked in at

[33:44] about 27 pounds now that’s solid God that is a solid baby was he driving himself in this stroller he was just like yeah let’s do

[33:53] this he’s just lifting it over his head walking like bam bam yeah he just got his feet down on the ground just Flint stoning it around he would he would not

[34:03] accept a carrier there’s no chance that that ship has sailed yeah so yeah I forget that like our our little one is still quite little so I can like I can

[34:12] just strapped to me and I’m like yeah I’m fine I got like that’s how if I’m taking the dog for a walk like dog wants to go Offroad to do his business so I

[34:21] can’t really take the stroller Offroad for that um so it’s just a lot easier to just have her strap to me while I do that but uh yeah I don’t know what your

[34:30] little buddy doesn’t want it not even like back Style no it’s just he doesn’t like being constrainted he wants to be on the ground and he wants to be

[34:37] climbing he wants to be climbing he wants to be grabbing and pulling like he’ll push the stroller a lot of the time like he just wants to like go see

[34:45] I’m always curious about like I don’t know what that what this currently means for his long term like because I think he’s a little bit big at this point not

[34:52] he’s not like some massive tall kid but like sturdy big built has a lot of strength I don’t know does that mean when he’s eight it will still exist that

[35:00] way or could he like just drop off a cliff and become super weak like like is he kind of maxed out that has he peaked too early he’s a cage

[35:10] fighter by the time he’s

[35:15] 10 mean I just see something it’s call it even a trend as far as his like strength and like size and it’s like is that is that kind of dictating a future

[35:24] or is it just like this weird hump along the road and like he’s gonna like he’ll be normal later on or he’s like it’s I think he’ll be normal I think I

[35:33] think they’re more rigid at that age right like they’re learning to walk and they’re like straight arming stuff and yeah later my brother-in-law apparently

[35:42] my brother-in-law was a little Michelin baby like he was he fat too I was he was like he was I’ve seen pictures it’s yeah you forget Jeff I’ve we’ve

[35:54] seen those photos Jeff that’s right never mind Sor yes I speak from experience yes um so yeah it’s it all levels out in the end and you have to

[36:03] remember too Trevor you’re not exactly petite what are you trying to say you’re a tall guy no you’re a pretty tall guy you got shoulders like you have leg day

[36:15] like you know you got shoulders no the uh apparently the there’s such a thing in my family called

[36:24] the Kennedy ass where Wow Let’s just end it there yeah that’s sorry end of episode everybody week where they call like a

[36:34] beas thing on a board so so it goes out and and I have it my dad had it uh and my son very much seems to have it so like see that that at

[36:48] least seems to be a family trait there you go so the for the audio listeners what I’m doing at the moment is not I

[36:57] for the audio listeners we’ like to congratulate you on making the right choice no but so anyways yeah so we I’m I’m just shoving this cart through

[37:08] people’s lives like one thing at a time and just hating it I’m I’m thinking back to we were at Canada Day in Ottawa before kids way back and this guy had

[37:21] this three wide baby carrier or or baby stroller so like three seats not a single kid in it like these kids are just like all strolling and running

[37:31] around and he was just like trying to plow it through a million people that are in town and I’m I remember watching I’m like you jackass what are you what

[37:42] on Earth are you doing with that monstrosity at this event yeah now I didn’t have a three-way but like a three side one but like man like if I didn’t

[37:53] feel like I was thinking about that whole time just like how how much I hated that guy for at this event having that how the audacity of that man to

[38:03] have that stroller at the event and here I am that’s the thing is like his stroller was like a stupid monstrosity those three wide ones are just whoever

[38:13] invented that needs to actually have a kid and understand what these things are designed to do like stack them you know uh yes go high that was your was your

[38:25] kid in the roller at the time oh yeah no he always was like otherwise like people can just bug her off then like you’re kid you’re using like before he was

[38:34] using his as like essentially a shopping cart he was just you know pushing the shopping cart through a group of people and he had two other shopping carts lash

[38:43] to the sides like you actually were using those with a primary function that so I wouldn’t put you in the same category is

[38:51] that it’s just there’s people lining up for rides people have food and just like just careening through and I just couldn’t couldn’t shake that thought of

[38:58] like oh here I am around My Views change on those people though like now that I’ve been through that and I’ve dropped the

[39:06] strollers completely I would look at you and be like oh you brave soul like what are you doing to yourself bra bastard you’re gonna you’re just like you’re

[39:15] just like oh wait wait till he gets to discover the umbrella stroller that up strap it on your back and off you go like that’s the thing too

[39:24] is like you it’s late yeah oh I’m looking forward to that that’s good um yeah man I wouldn’t put you in the same category as that guy like I was an idiot

[39:33] like why would you bring a three wide like and if your kids are big enough to be off gallivanting while you’re pushing an empty stroller then like put one of

[39:42] them to work pushing the other two and get umbrella strollers like you know multitask diversify all those kind of has kind of an umbrella stroller like

[39:53] it’s not big it’s not like the say it does fold up it’s not umbrella like it’s more of a briefcase type thing yeah but still

[40:02] it’s it’s not that bad like like I think Fisher Price sells a cow plow so just get one of those and it’ll be fine should that that attachment would

[40:11] be pretty fantastic make make sure he has a for the benefit of people to give them a chance to give him a bell so he’s just ringing it the whole time yeah oh

[40:21] God yeah so if they don’t get out of the way then they get the cow plow yeah exactly but um and was to is he he did great he did about as great as a kid

[40:30] could be expected to of course like he definitely a couple meltdowns like just lost it yeah I don’t want say lost it it’s just like he understandably became

[40:39] uncomfortable or tired or hungry at certain points and he said what everybody else was thinking yeah all the moaning the collective moaning at the CN

[40:47] but then like Trevor wanted to cry so his son took the torch that’s right and he the problem is too like then but then you’re just in the thick of it you’re

[40:57] right in the middle of all these this huge mob of people and like he’s going nuts and it’s just like well here we are keep pushing good thing to is when

[41:10] he cries at least like that kind of acts like a cow plow because people want to get away from that so definitely hear him coming so yeah so both I mean both

[41:17] events like it was just that creening the card around through people it was him understandably being upset again he did great like all things considered but

[41:27] obviously just had some a couple moments of not wanting to do this anymore yeah and uh yeah it was a very interesting week in that way fun it ultim be fun

[41:37] like we did have a great time I’ll look back and laugh at some of it some of the videos of him mooing at pigs are pretty damn

[41:44] funny we always knew he was a bright boy h no son that is a duck that’s fine no my lad that is is the wrong he’ll push over the kids that tell him he’s

[41:57] wrong right like suplex him yeah honestly by like the year 2035 like ducks will now officially

[42:12] move he will scare them into mooing because our grand Wasteland Overlord will tell them to oh the um yeah and I guess just quick

[42:25] to R from gaming side it was a bunch of no man Sky wait wait wait a you beat me to it oh to guess I was gonna guess nice sorry

[42:35] as as to be expected it’s still been no man’s Sky I think one the the better experiences we had uh got together with a friend actually had it has a game as

[42:44] well and we actually went to his place he and we set it up so we were both playing at the same time so being it’s kind of like awesome like co-op session

[42:52] because like you’re looking over like oh my God look at this thing oh God look at this you’re just going back and forth like that that was incredible like that

[42:57] was it was really fun to be kind of just off exploring different spaces but still some kind of amount of comaraderie and like chatting and like joking about as

[43:06] going through it um I think getting a bit of an itch for other games I’m trying to think about what I’ll like I think I’d like to finish um just cause

[43:14] three um I need to work my way through alone with you the I keep having I I played some OverWatch and it’s a little bit be kind

[43:25] of interesting I’ve been having some thoughts around that as well where overwat still having fun with it great game tons of fun they

[43:31] just released season two so they had their competitive season you try to rank up you try to go across um I’m not high enough level to play competitive

[43:40] yet yeah got it yeah see that’s the thing the other thing the other thing that’s kind of just quietly in the corner is Street Fighter 5 like

[43:48] reminding me that BBE should hey come on come on come on back and it’s but it’s the it’s the amount of time I’d have to but which

[43:57] would kind of be fun as well but there between some OverWatch and trying to get better at that which I think like involves some a whole bunch of play but

[44:04] maybe a little bit of study to understand it um Street Fighter 5 which involves a ton of study to try to get better at it but I had found that

[44:11] enjoyable when I was doing it and it’s just and then no man’s Sky which is just you know like space drugs as far as just like quietly floating and not not gonna

[44:23] die nothing matters just floating and face you’re fine you ever see that uh there’s a South Park episode where Stan’s dad is just chasing the white

[44:34] dragon video game yeah like that’s no man’s sky was wasn’t that was the reference I was gonna go with but I wasn’t sure if it’d be referenced or

[44:44] like if it’ be caught so oh well I would have caught would CAU nice yeah so it’s just a it’s kind of a dad thought I mean with the limited time and now you got

[44:53] this like little 1 hour or two hour window and it’s like what do you spend that time in and like could you possibly put enough into one of those other games

[45:03] like especially one the competitive ones where it becomes meaningful like you can make any kind of meaningful progress as opposed to something that has no

[45:12] progress something like just cause jump in it’s cathartic it’s quiet like it’s just it’s dumb arcade fun it’s great excellent and you slowly progress and

[45:21] you eventually will’t beat it right no man Sky there’s no point to the game so it’s in a good way so you’re just kind of going about it but with uh

[45:31] Street Fighter 5 and um OverWatch and many of the other anything else would be competitive like could you possibly as a dad put in any significant time to be to

[45:41] get good at it to that regard where where you’re climbing ranks like could you put in enough to get that benefit back just pure no from Jeff yeah I like

[45:51] honestly I’ve Full Tilt given up on competitive multiplayer at least for the time bu G because it’s just I I think I also find too that it’s

[46:02] not just because I don’t quite have the time to dedicate to being good enough to really stand a chance um the games that I’m finding luring are ones that are

[46:12] nice Escape but uh as you mentioned earlier like you only have these little fragments of time and the ones that give me a nice sense

[46:21] of reward in the time that I’ve been planing them so Doom was great for that M charted series is fantastic for that I’m finding Mad Max is great for that as

[46:30] well even though it is a very grindy game um what I can do in the span of a nap for you know that little hour or two that I get at the end of the day um I

[46:43] can achieve enough and unlock enough that like oh sweet I got new exhausts for the car that’s what I wanted to achieve before going to bed and I did so

[46:52] it’s great I can sleep sound now because apparently I can’t sleep on the I do something interesting with a video game um uh but yeah let me just any other

[47:01] games not d light was pretty good for um like just being able to get some stuff done uh fallout like I love I really enjoyed Fallout 4 um but I found

[47:13] that it was a very heavy time sync game I think no man sky is very similar in that regard where it’s like you spent a lot of time in it you do a lot of

[47:20] exploration you see a lot of an interesting environment but at the end of it you’ve just you filled your inventory then sorted it

[47:31] then expanded it and then filled it again um which is fine like it’s fun but it’s like watching reruns of friends like it’s wow it’s a good

[47:44] decompression um it’s a good sort of like unwind but like that sense of progress I I don’t know whether it doesn’t really get your it’s

[47:55] te anything was as much as as another game that has like narrative goals or um like growth goals

[48:05] uh yeah I think it’s kind of just the current um and it’s not it’s not gotten any better for better for dads is one of the thing that I’ve kind of realized as

[48:13] well because for instance with Street Fighter they had new characters come out so they’ve had Yuri they’ve had Eran is coming out shortly um Iuka IA oh man I’m

[48:26] GNA I blew that name there’s the this ninja girl as well but those are three new characters and if you are you know kind of closing

[48:35] ranks you kind of need to have strategies against these people and same with OverWatch where they’re going to be introducing they’ve introduced one new

[48:40] character Anna one sorry one of the best a sign one of the best uh tweets I saw in reference to um I believe it was EA that came up with a sentence saying like

[48:51] you know it’s really hard to develop female characters like it’s it’s really hard to get female characters in video games and Blizzard’s like this is a

[48:58] grandma that literally Snipes medicine into you it’s just like oh okay like Anna is such a like she’s such a cool character

[49:08] and it’s such a unique class too because it’s like it’s a support class it’s a it’s a Healer class but it’s also a sniper distance range class so it’s like

[49:17] you don’t usually the support healer class is like in the thick of it they’re like yeah strapping Band-Aids to people but this one it’s like no she’s like up

[49:27] in the trees kind of hiding and yeah OverWatch is really starting to like SLA some sense into other developers are saying it’s really difficult to do stuff

[49:39] like no you just do it just do it just bre be brave um don’t worry about people telling you that like these body types shouldn’t exist or these types of

[49:51] characters shouldn’t exist like just do it yeah or like this this 6 fo8 Uh Russian she’s awesome yeah it’s incredible and there was the in the

[50:01] Olympics there was the uh the weightlifter yeah the hu the I try I don’t was it Ukrainian or was it Russian I can’t remember but she did that like

[50:09] cute little heart thing this massive woman she does this incredible lift like really impressive weight and she drops it and this woman like is just an

[50:18] incredible physical form and at she gives this like cute like kind of jump and does this like little heart it’s like oh it look so much like the girl

[50:24] from over watch it’s amazing yeah so the um and even with you’re in the there’s all these little points these guys are so good at this like there is you’re in

[50:34] the lobby before the game and when you choose some characters they’ll interact against each other because they all have this backstory despite it not having any

[50:42] story mode or single player campaign which I I hope they bring out because I just want to know more about them um so that sniper Grandma Anna is the mother

[50:53] of pharaoh or pharaoh sorry the another class and phah will say like if you if those two are in the same room will’ll say like um you know mother it’s so

[51:03] great like I’ve always like dreamed of fighting by your side and then the grandma says the only reason I ever fought is so that you wouldn’t have to

[51:09] do this and it’s just like damn that’s like that’s such a better story like encapsulated in the throwaway sentences before a match than some entire games

[51:21] like that’s like it’s incredible like it’s so cool anyways but like also but anyway she she comes into the meta and I think

[51:29] they’re going to be introducing some new character as well uh I can’t even remember what the name of it is anyways another one’s coming in

[51:38] and if you’re playing you need to know how to counter them like you need to know strategies of what your team make above it and as a dad you’re Pro if you

[51:45] even if you’re trying to do that with the limited time that you have to get into it and then they introduce a new character which they constantly have to

[51:53] now given the current landscape people are expecting constant updates new content you know new play modes like it you might have barely grasped it before

[52:04] and they just changed the game again like it’s a new map it’s a new character y well and by the time you possibly get that they’ve probably moved on like

[52:14] entirely not to mention like the patches coming out like you you I think you’d be I’d probably be better off like becoming a master at like Street Fighter 2

[52:23] because that’s not going to change yeah like that’s locked in stone like that’s good like well it’s like when you look at like that documentary king of Kong

[52:32] it’s like why do you think they got off there like that one guy had a family like that’s where it’s like it’s like yeah I got a family now I’m just GNA

[52:40] become really good at dony Kong he’s not getting a patch any day soon oh man so the Mega Man eight go for it go for it but uh yeah so in other way

[52:56] it’s awesome man so no no man sky is great um OverWatch I keep thinking I’m probably going to start dipping into Street

[53:03] Fighter again a little bit but it’s just it it’s hard to dedicate some hours to lessons around that yeah like because and I literally would have to study and

[53:15] like and I’m currently and I’m currently trying to study Spanish and a new programming language so like it’s uh yeah it’s a little much

[53:24] unless you mix up the two which would be great that would be great it’s like okay so you see where the uh we bring in this ass it here so

[53:33] we just do uppercut uppercut up down ba ba um so that’s again and then no man Sky just kind of sitting there like hey

[53:42] buddy just take it easy just it’s okay just man come into space it’s all right those are the games that like dads need like being a dad is is just a

[53:56] responsibility um it’s a wonderful one but it is one so like playing games that are also responsibilities it’s just like why why

[54:06] shoulder more why it should be the thing at the end it’s like hey come on just come on play for a bit just wants to play No

[54:17] Man’s Sky listening to Coldplay that’s fine yeah like it’s okay just I know you had a rough week play

[54:26] Sky one thing one thing I did see was at the so at the CN there was this booth these chair there massage chairs there were

[54:33] $110,000 they the armrests would when you press the button they would raise up and then so you could put your arms in it and then they kind of like lower

[54:43] quietly onto it so like it’s giving you like kind of pressure massages to your arms as well and it’s just like there’s this room of people currently in the

[54:50] demo and they were just on some plane of Heaven I don’t think they knew existed like they are just they have dissolved and disappeared into it can only be

[55:00] described as the greatest sensation they’ve ever had so what you do is you buy that chair and you get yourself your VR headset oh yeah then you lose your

[55:10] just and you’re you’re good life is gonna be okay you’re never coming back shall we wrap it up and do beer picks let’s wrap it up beer picks before

[55:24] Trevor just volunteers himself to the SpaceX program that’s a lot of work I don’t want I want to relax

[55:32] studying Spanish and Street Fighter moves the only place you can practice is space get launched in the space we go on Lamar’s Mission so I good Street

[55:44] Fighter the number one in the world there’s finally time nine years of practice so the uh yeah it’s much like that novel though like as you’re going

[55:57] up like the controller would definitely Fray like well you mean I can’t play there was finally time no all right so the so I went to this one cold and I’ve

[56:08] been trying to I was telling you guys before this show started I wasn’t sure how I felt about this beer um I think it’s gone to between it’s raised up

[56:17] through the episode from being a I don’t like it to a this is pretty good um I don’t know as the effects of the alcohol kicking

[56:25] go how many did yeah I don’t think I’d buy it again they put it that way but if it was on tap with others I’d probably I might dip

[56:33] into it again so it is a Belgian style I gota try to leison seon okay they’re being cute I want to make sure I didn’t like blow it payon the seon it

[56:45] payon the seon so it’s trai they call traditional farmal ale it’s from uh nickel Brock Brewery and they do a bunch of ones they based out of uh Burlington

[56:55] yeah so kind of a fruity profile to it a a bunch of hops like but done well like it’s hops like much like we discussed many times like hops is part of a story

[57:05] as opposed to just here’s a bunch of hops jerk like drink it down and it’s a fruity hoppy like it’s a strong beer it’s a

[57:14] 5.7 uh percent there but yeah that’s kind of warm it’s kind of warmed on me since this uh show was started here so I’m not going to buy it again would

[57:23] drink it again not too bad so that’s Belgian style of peson Saison from nickel Brock

[57:32] Gavin uh this evening I went with uh can there it’s called mythology monkey F monkey uh it’s a brewery based in Barry Ontario which is

[57:45] just uh pretty well you drive past it getting to Cottage Country um it’s uh usually their beers are like pretty heavy with the flavor and hops um which

[57:56] I I dig like I don’t think they ever really overdo it um but this one actually is uh a little bit milder which is nice like it’s it’s uh it was a good

[58:07] one um I would get it again the can was uh super funky um as usually all their marketing stuff is like they do not shy away from just busyness um that’s sort

[58:19] of their attitude uh yeah it was it was refreshing um it a pser um they also had a a wheat beer but uh I want pilsner because I like

[58:33] psers um yeah uh just a nice clean finish uh I dug it I get it again u s I don’t have a more put together review for it

[58:48] it’s just a really nice full flavored Piller um there nothing really like that’s thing is like there’s nothing really about it that’s like oh and it’s

[58:57] got like hazelnut it’s like no it’s just it’s a really good solid pser yeah you sound like you might have had it what’s the one it was it ends in

[59:09] bomb or something something smash bomb smash bomb I remember tasting that one I was like whoa there’s lots of flavor in this

[59:17] one that one’s like concentrate welcome to welcome to flavor country population you just exploded in my throat there yeah it’s like it’s like all the Hops

[59:30] that like Kors uses in a year yeah let’s just concentrate it and put in this can all six hops they use throughout the whole

[59:39] year Jeff yourself uh I picked up uh innocent gun logger small batch I’ve seen that I’ve been curious about that one because like

[59:50] it as opposed to their other yeah their more famous um the bottle was it Whiskey what’s the not is it bourbon is it bourbon barrels they do it in what do

[1:00:00] they do single casks yeah yeah Scotch cks right yeah yeah well this one’s good um it’s kind of it’s kind a slight lemony taste to it which is it’s okay um

[1:00:15] but it’s really good cold i’ when it started to warm up you could taste it a little bit more so it’s okay it’s kind of a light beer 4.6

[1:00:25] um so it does the job I think I’d buy another if it was just like your basic but there’s nothing like there’s nothing setting it off from something like I

[1:00:35] couldn’t distinguish this from something else that was um like your basic logger kind of Brew but it says it’s from Scotland I don’t know if it’s brewed in

[1:00:44] Scotland or must be brewed here but out of Scotland but it’s kind of cool they find like maybe that’s where like the biggest supply of bottles are or Barrel

[1:00:53] St Maybe well that’s like inun innocent gun like the the main standard bottle ones that are aged in the cks like that’s a Scottish beer um but I’m not

[1:01:06] sure about the small batch say much more but yeah it’s pretty good I does it have the same sort of sweetness that regular innocent gun has

[1:01:17] or yeah it does have a little uh Touch of that it’s not overwhelming but it’s good not bad cool nice very good everybody that will do it for this damn

[1:01:30] that’s a bad start try that again it’s your signature it’s got to be your sign off you should be a news anchor life I blow it every

[1:01:42] week and just Trevor’s a marathon runner who always trips the Finish Line man it was I won no what’s happened face plants

[1:01:55] into a solar blanket calls it a day that’s PR pleased because the beginning was so smooth I’m like ah this beginning is really coming together like just like
