[0:43] one the adult beverages are poored the kids are asleep it’s time for new dad gaming a show about fatherhood gaming and new fathers figuring out their

[0:51] gaming lives my name is Trevor and I have a one-year-old my name is Gavin and I have a one-year-old and I’m Jeff I got a six-year-old and a three y old jeez

[1:01] that you okay Jeff it sounds pretty down got a three-year-old ay old and a three-year-old they’re wearing me down so let’s see that is 12 years and

[1:15] 15 years respectively until they’re out of the house hopefully we’ll see yeah try 35 and 3 no no still in diapers too it’s weird yeah

[1:30] I’m getting an apartment that ain’t broke gentlemen how was your week in fatherhood and gaming um I finished Mad Max and uh baby

[1:45] likes Falafel I love it like the which which which came first the finishing of the game or the discovery of your kids

[1:54] Falafel habit Falafel fful came first okay because she liked hummus and it’s basically just hummus cake um kids love hummus he like my kids

[2:04] love wait kids like hummus oh yeah like scoop fulls yeah yeah in their mouth like yeah man try Baba G too oh yeah except then they get stinky garlic

[2:17] breath yeah yeah given the amount of stink that comes off them anyways that’s fine that’s a compliment um yeah no uh pretty good week um uh baby had some new

[2:29] t Sensations this week uh which was fun uh she’s digging it so um what else we went to the zoo on Friday and it was it was nice because it’s the offseason so

[2:41] it wasn’t a mad house it was actually quite quiet uh so no big lines or anything got to go see some pandas and stuff and just you know have a nice uh

[2:51] nice morning together and and then yeah I finished off Mad Max which was uh a very good game like it everything about it plot-wise had some neat little

[3:01] aspects about it I was like okay you got me that’s good um yeah all in all really enjoyable experience so uh I highly recommend it especially anybody who’s a

[3:12] fan of the series um I felt it was quite true to the character um the voice actor was uh was pretty good um you know there was a couple sentences I’m like oh but

[3:24] uh but at the end of the day like how many lines of dialogue do this actor have to do so it’s like yeah cut them some slack all on all it was it was Some

[3:32] solid solid work um yeah uh I would highly recommend it it was really really fun and that’s trying to think of anything else went for a nice little

[3:41] picnic at the waterfront the other day with some friends that was fun uh took the dog with us he had a blast he still sleeping it off

[3:51] um yeah it was a pretty good work week it was like work and family and gaming good balance of everything which was was which was

[4:01] nice M that game is especially right now it’s coming up on every type of sale that I’m seeing like it’s like around I’m seeing it for like what the8 to9

[4:09] range on Steam these days yeah like a super sale like get it get it like it’s kind of getting to the shadow of mortar territory where it’s like why have you

[4:17] not purchased this game yet please please take this game which is also a game that was like just thoroughly thoroughly enjoyable um so yeah they’re

[4:28] both like I don’t know which you know mad person in accounting thinks it’s a good idea to low ball the price on them so much but like honestly people pick

[4:40] them up they’re worth it especially if they’re on sale like it’s worth the money I think it’s like it’s kind of Skyrim that like all the steam sales

[4:47] that had it for like four bucks and like really that’s a lot of game for four bucks and especially like there’s some when I got it I think I got it for five

[4:55] and it included the legendary pack or like all the DLC and everything yeah nuts like just like this for five bucks like that’s yeah this is chaos like it’s

[5:05] pretty insane actually before I forget there is a sale right now that um I just took advantage of and uh I highly recommend it to anybody looking to get

[5:17] into game design um Humble Bundle is doing a game maker uh sale oh cool uh and you can pick up like pretty well close to $2,000 worth of software for

[5:28] like 15 bucks um it’s an insanely good deal um and yeah you get all the modules that you need for exporting for IOS and Android

[5:37] and all that uh along with just like the open uh the the DRM free uh version you also get in the package uh source code to a bunch of games so you can kind of

[5:49] peek behind the curtain see how they did what um kind of help you out as you’re learning the uh the software itself so anybody looking to start designing games

[5:59] and start working in that I couldn’t recommend it more um it’s a amazingly good price it’s it’s almost criminally are the are the tools up to date I

[6:09] remember there’s this one bundle um I think I might have even bought it but it was all it felt in looking at it it seemed like it was all s like last

[6:18] year’s software like it wasn’t like the new version or an upto-date version of it is this fairly recent yeah I think it’s the newest version like I and I

[6:27] think with game maker it’s because being morbin engine sort of thing like they’re they’re pretty good about not pay Walling everything um and even so like

[6:38] to have this amount of content ready for for that price is is even just for a learning tool is totally worth it so um yeah that’s that’s pretty cool I’ll

[6:49] picky back off that because that was the game I was going to talk about this week was um I kickstarted hyperlife drift Drifter a while back and I think they

[6:59] used that game maker Studio to create the game whoa hyperli drift hyperli Drifter made in game maker Studio yeah and I think Hotline Miami too I’ll have

[7:10] to double check that one yeah um like some pretty big games seriously yeah alone with you was there you go critically claimed alone with

[7:24] you Game of the Year Contender alone with you when it comes to Indie Games it’s pretty well unity and Game maker like those are the top two uh kind of

[7:35] platform Work Platforms that are being used um CO as far as like game engine goes um like game maker is great like it’s a 2d engine um but it does a lot

[7:48] and uh it’s very economical too so it’s not like financially but just like uh you know there’s you can do a lot with it but it’s not as you know because it’s

[7:59] not and stuff but anyways I’m not going to get into too many details because I know uh programmers out there will be pushing their glasses up and being like

[8:06] ah point of order said that wrong artist um but uh anyways yeah game maker is a very very widely used U game development software so it’s definitely worth

[8:19] picking up because it can do a whole bunch and do it uh quite reliably you D tip I like it might convinced me to pick it up back

[8:28] i’ seen it I wasn’t so sure but hearing that knowing that alone with you and hyperight and Miami was made with those geez that uh that’s very

[8:41] interesting my free dad time and all my games right you could take care of like a pixel baby we can make a game out of it there we go you have dad jokes that

[8:52] you have to solve like riddles oh yeah how do you how do you make the best dad joke out of these four words it’s some sort of dad AI that like

[9:01] judges it like boss battle you could have made people it’s probably like a moan rating where it says like uh and based on that like that’s how good it

[9:09] was it’s like I didn’t get enough like booze and jeers what’s the name of when everyone’s like oh no it’s awful the particular word for that type of uh I

[9:20] think that was us when you made the joke like yeah what’s what’s the name of when people like make that like pained cry after something makes a terrible joke

[9:28] there’s a particular name for it’s not moan Trevor gas so uh Jeff yourself do you what uh how was your week in gaming and

[9:43] fatherhood well yeah as I mentioned before hyperli hyperlight Drifter um got a chance to play that on PS4 uh it came out on PC a while ago but I kickstarted

[9:54] it for the PS4 version so pretty cool um it’s um again indie game made by well um small Studio it was one person that actually had like a heart condition and

[10:06] he wanted to make this game um kind of about him and about his experience um I think he um him going through getting a pacemaker and dealing

[10:16] with a heart um issue with game design was a a great deal for him uh and the game is really cool um if you like like a techno soundtrack kind of beat it’s

[10:27] got that to it and the visual are very retro so like a pixel uh Super Nintendo kind of feel to it and um I’m having a blast with it

[10:37] it’s difficult like it’s not an easy game which I think these things tend to be right so they’ll send you off to one area and uh you can kind of beat that

[10:46] boss but then it kind of doesn’t hold your hand anymore so you have to feel it out for yourself so it’s kind of neat that way too it’s very symbol heavy so

[10:55] there’s not much text telling you where to go and what to do but it’s very open world and like a like an open map and you go around um trying to discover what

[11:05] what your character is doing what why is he there uh what does he have to do and it’s kind of a neat a neat little retro game so highly recommend that I think

[11:14] it’s on the store pretty cheap about 10 bucks or so um in fatherhood on a positive note because I think I I think I make fun of my kids a

[11:27] lot this is a place to you see this is this is therapy it’s we what happened I’ll redeem I’ll redeem myself um my son who’s in grade one uh we got an email

[11:40] from his teacher today um saying that he has been sitting down and playing and talking to and um being this kid’s friend in

[11:50] class which is really nice to see um it turns out this kid has uh Down syndrome so he um was very nice to him for the first week of to school and then today

[12:00] actually when um kids were pushing this other friend around and he fell down uh and was crying Jude ran over and um hugged him and um made him feel better

[12:12] and started talking to him and kind of you know dismissed the the negative situation that uh that kid was in so we got a nice email from the teacher saying

[12:20] she was really surprised and proud of him so it was kind of neat to see that you know parenting pays off that’s that’s a proud papa moment when you find

[12:28] it like your kids a schoolyard superhero yeah so it’s hopefully that continues because we’ve uh we’ve had our run-ins with the law sometimes so um not

[12:39] to say policeing yeah so you know maybe he’s like a he’s one of those like you know uh Wy Rogues who’s like got a heart of

[12:50] gold but you Robin Hood rough exteria but in truth he’s just an absolute kind soul and just misunderstood yeah exact steal every neutr brain bar in sight

[13:02] right when it that’s his viice yeah that I’ll deal with that that’s okay that’s fine but no it was It was kind of cool to to hear about and see that hopefully

[13:12] develop uh through the course of his life so good for him man that’s awesome what a great story congratulations that’s uh that must make you you you and

[13:22] and the wife really really proud like that’s am thing to hear when like your kids being like that that’s pretty awesome yeah we had to uh he was asleep

[13:30] and we had to kind of wake him up and be like yeah we got a not from your teacher and he did a good job today so no it was good too did his face go it’s like we

[13:38] got a note from your teacher he’s like it was like fear it was like oh and he’s like I no I’ve been good I don’t know what you’re I’ve been good so he was

[13:48] trying to downplay it he’s like I don’t know what you’re talking about so then you slid him on neutr grain bar you like don’t check my bed there’s neutr

[13:56] grain bars there see now thanks I’m good I got a punch it it was good to hear it was good uh good Dam dad moment there awesome I’m

[14:08] proud of Papa that’s awesome how about you Trev the so a sampling of games didn’t it was a rough work week but I found myself with a lot

[14:17] of tiny little bits and then accordingly just kind of went for a wide sampling of things i’ kind of gotten to a point with no man sky where I’d achieved a few

[14:26] things that I’d wanted to and still still positive on the game still liking it still the pangs of sadness when I read the put the turmoil and the

[14:35] negativity online but not having a great time but uh but I got to a good point I’m like I kind of feel like a few other things so I dip back into Uncharted

[14:45] three again decid maybe I should try to push that a little bit further and see if I can beat it and I’m not sure how much further I have to go I’m kind of at

[14:53] a good spot with it where like I’ve kind of had enough like all right we’re we are you so the president’s back on the island

[15:04] and I just defended this place where there’s like just two boxes and there’s like fighter jets coming in oh unart you you said Uncharted three oh geez I’m

[15:14] sorry not just cause three my bad I was like where are their Jets miss the Jets the president see I was playing Uncharted 3 last night like that was the

[15:25] one I’m like okay I’m going to get back into this now I’m done Mad Mats uh which by the way uh button mapping muscle memory and jump from one game to another

[15:35] is so hard sometimes this is a button to run not in this game that button does something entirely

[15:43] different so uh anyways yeah when you were talking about Jets and stuff in unch I was confused but now I’m not keep up all man

[15:53] with button mapping like yeah that God I must have died three times because in my head what was grappling hook was actually grenade like oh I better hop

[16:04] onto that just soft Loba grenade just right at my feet I’m like ah nuts just blow up and then they proceed to do it two or three more times I just can’t get

[16:14] into my head my dad addled brain that like okay that’s this is the deadly grenade thing don’t touch it and just every time dead so frustrating yeah Max

[16:25] Sprint was trigger and then in like Uncharted trigger his gun so like I’m trying to run away from things and just standing there shooting his gun wildly

[16:35] in the air like Asado like just move man get out of danger there’s a grenade he like

[16:45] like so the uh Scott just caus a bit trying to finish it and just I hope it ends pretty soon it’s been great but if it drags on like I would like to finish

[16:57] it like I really would like to finish this one just cap it check it off I remember the story like the story missions being pretty to

[17:03] the point there wasn’t too too much um if you were in a was it like a bunch of Tanks or no Jets right yes this is now again the

[17:16] president’s in jets are streaming over top like I’m in an anti-aircraft gun shooting him down and he’s now said and then like one of the Traders takes off

[17:23] in a helicopter and I’m chasing them in a motorcycle which I ditched immediately because the motorcycle driving this game is terrible awful I’ll take a left turn

[17:34] no you won’t slating off so so I end up chasing him in my parachute just parachuting Along on what

[17:43] should be an epic motorcycle chase I’m just like I can’t bother eventually I just like I’m supposed to shoot him down but instead I just like grapple up and

[17:50] like lob on a couple grenades and like jump off I like when they try to force you down this epic path and you just take

[17:57] instead of much easier less less romantic path to like finish the job you have to play the game with the psychology of a cat like a

[18:06] house cat just be like oh you want me to do this thing no I GNA do it this way I don’t care just like go at it like a house cat

[18:15] just yeah just imagine like everyone’s like watching this gate he’s like all right anytime I was gonna come here and like just this little dot parachuting in

[18:22] the background just quietly quiet around the back it’s so easier had a great time with that was playing a bit of um alone

[18:32] with you the it’s funny because the I find I can’t really do I haven’t thus far been able to do more than a section at a time uh because in that

[18:42] game you’re meeting different characters that are then simulated in the AI and after that it’s like okay next day let’s go find somebody else and it’s like I

[18:52] that was a good chunk I feel good about that chunk and I don’t that’s kind of actually that’s honestly how I’ve been playing it it’s a thing where it’s like

[19:00] a book and it’s like okay that’s a good chapter and it’s like I don’t really feel like digging into a new chapter again like I’m I’m satisfied I’m GNA put

[19:07] a bookmark in set it down for the night go back at it again tomorrow yeah like it’s um it’s one of those experiences where the the morsal division is good um

[19:19] but there’s no there’s no shame in being like yeah I’m good for the night like i’ I’ve been satisfied with that yeah I’m satiated

[19:29] I’m good I’m gonna move on to something else and blow something up or you know just go to bed it’s interesting knowing knowing you

[19:38] having worked on the game and playing it because the because I found a spelling mistake and I was chuckling like they missell when they just missed

[19:47] a w and I was laughing like ah these guys oh these guys then another time like I broke the walking path and I I was going up onto the walls like in some

[19:56] weird distance and again it just caused me like chuckle I like oh you guys the like nothing game it was so minute but it’s still it’s just a funny moment in

[20:06] knowing you having you worked on the game and I’m like oh Gavin I can I can kind of somewhat be like it wasn’t me all my stuff was just

[20:18] pixels but uh pixels are on point thank you um yeah oh pixels pixels pixels so otherwise the it’s got It’s playing a bit of OverWatch as well um

[20:33] which is fantastic game they released season two as far as a competitive thing I’m not good enough to play competitive yet you have to be level 25 to get into

[20:40] it apparently see the thing is I was talking to you in high school basically yeah gotta graduate to it yeah it and it makes sense and apparently it actually

[20:50] gets a little bit more call it fun it’s just because at that point people do have well people have a sense of what they’re doing at the moment like you’ll

[20:58] just get a lot of Rogues and people are just flying all over and there’s no uh group work and this thing this is not Call of Duty you have to work together

[21:05] as a team like you cannot just be one great one great player with four mediocre ones and win like that will never work you gotta be together and if

[21:13] like that this team that you’ve just been thrown in with are all lower levels or slightly higher but they’re not really interested in teamwork you’re

[21:20] still dead so apparently when you get to that level that you start to be able to contribute at A Team level like okay let’s all do this particular thing so

[21:28] curious to try it I’m terrified of it because I don’t want to get yelled at by 14year olds because I’m not doing what I’m supposed

[21:35] to it seems to still be so much uh technicality to it but man it’s still still a blast I’m telling you that I so badly want them to release a movie set

[21:45] in this world with the characters there just seems to be so much Rich lore that they could draw from like they have the whole Arc they could just

[21:55] like tell that particular story love to see how dare you sir how dare you I’ve seen the shorts the shorts I think is it

[22:06] fits it well right you get like the 10 minute yeah but imagine that just stretched out a little bit to like 50 or 60 Minutes like a full story oh my

[22:17] God I don’t know that’s just me I don’t know so much you can tell I don’t know I think Jeff’s equivalent to like Geneva Convention definition of torture being

[22:28] forced to watch an OverWatch featur like film I don’t like the game I can’t get into the game they had a free to play I think this weekend too on PS4 like that

[22:39] yeah I saw that on consoles I didn’t do that because I don’t know I why tease myself I don’t got time for anything multiplayer at the moment so why uh why

[22:53] play a level multiplayer and then be like oh I really like this now I gotta get PlayStation Plus at like 70 bucks a year and I get the game do

[23:05] you need it for that I thought they said that you didn’t need it I don’t know I think yeah I don’t think so otherwise you PlayStation Plus or any of the other

[23:15] stuff it’s mostly just like I just do not have the hours yeah um neither do I so

[23:24] bad that’s yeah it looks really beautiful like I think it is something that I don’t know maybe some time down the line I’ll probably dig into because

[23:33] I I like those types of multiplayer games where is less about a single person dominating the map uh Pala Call of Duty and more about like Support

[23:43] classes um that’s the one thing I really liked about uh previous iterations Battlefield was things like the engineer class I love that because I just run

[23:51] around fixing tanks and plant and C4 and all those other fun things like I felt that sense of almost like fifth business contribution

[24:02] or like I think you would get see so you so one of my favorite players to play is Mercy a support character but not not only are you healing though you can also

[24:11] give somebody a damage boost and in so doing it’s like you see the one guy that’s about to go in and like you know try to take out the entire

[24:20] team you target him you give him like the Boost and you kind of stay on them a lot like the medic and the heavy in Team Fortress too yeah like stream and you’re

[24:29] boosting them but now you’re a part of it you’re actually getting points for the kills that he’s getting because you’re doing this like teamwork thing

[24:34] and it’s just it’s a blast I see you and I are playing very different games because what I see is everyone running off and then just the visual mess of

[24:45] just colors and hit points and people run around trying to kill each other and then skulls popping up and I’m dead I don’t know it

[24:56] was maybe that was because it was a freeo playay weekend when I first did it so maybe you don’t have that teamwork aspect because people are just trying it

[25:04] out they’re like yeah I’ll do it and they run in like Leroy Jenkins and yeah basically just jumped into the nud pool yeah and it’s just like a ball pit of

[25:16] chaos yeah there is no teamwork that’s what I’m kind of saying where that and that’s where as soon as you do get into you actually start playing competitive

[25:22] games even if you’re not what again Trevor let’s call it fun what’s the words that I’m looking for enjoyable if you

[25:33] will yeah and I hate to say it like that but I just mean like that very much the Leroy very much the team work it seems like once you’re doing it competitively

[25:41] even if you don’t care to like become Pro and gain ranks it’s just more that the team is knows that you have to do it thus as a team as as I’ve been told I

[25:50] don’t know if I ever make it that high I’ll tell you the difference I wonder if that game would be like I remember with Battlefield a

[25:58] buddy of mine um and I that was like the main way that we kept in touch like long distance was like we were just boot up Battlefield and we would chat and play

[26:10] and we just be each other’s Like You Know cover each other’s six kind of thing and uh but like what was great about is that we almost had like these

[26:19] like battle stories afterwards because we were just be playing together and we would be side by side the whole time so we’d experience things together and uh I

[26:28] wonder if OverWatch would have that sort of aspect to it as well or whether it’s a little bit too arena is for that um well that see it depends on you and like

[26:41] I’m don’t know if it’s just like being a dad or being old but like I’ve never been good about like it’s I have a lot of social anxiety around gaming with

[26:51] other people and the requirements and like talking to other folks like just random strangers because I just a lot of my experience with it had been gang

[26:57] yelled that and it’s just like I’m not that’s not what my game is about paing up somebody you already know like having like the buddy system yeah so what so so

[27:08] again like my my friend who plays it and he he’s super competitive he’s like really high up in levels and he’s he’s just had

[27:16] random matches with people and he had a really great experience with them like hey ZZ 65 894 like that that was a great match I’m going to add you to my friend

[27:25] list and they become friends the guys in Florida or New York or wherever and he’ll be online and he sees them and he’s like hey good to see on you want to

[27:33] hop on a game together like you can have um structured teams you can choose your team of six right or six or five gez I should know

[27:42] that yeah you should come on I should really know that that’s you could choose your team so yeah you can very much go as a buddy system and like have the

[27:51] three or four five if you can get the entire crew of it and again I think it’s just like I think if I had that social ability in

[27:58] that social awareness within gaming I might be a a bit better to navigate these things where I could like add folks to be my friends in this game but

[28:06] I’m still I I I based on this guy’s advice I actually joined voice chat for a couple of my games I’m like you know what like just apparently you can talk

[28:17] to each other and it’s very useful in this game and I did and nobody was talking so I’m like okay do I like announce myself like hello hello new new

[28:30] Dad here any Gamers out there hey who’s got a mic talk to got a got my got my ultra ready if you guys I rarely put the mic

[28:41] on so I don’t know you might be man I got so much anxiety about that and it’s just I want to relax I want to have a good time and I don’t want to get

[28:51] yelled at by 16-year-old who’s so much better than me so much better that’s right Gavin get angry and throw things

[29:02] yeah so I’m any for all of this though that’s all on the periphery I’m still enjoying it like damn lot so it’s that was the other so a

[29:14] decent sampling of games for myself this week the I want to get through some of that so I can get to um Uncharted I want Journeys free on PSN I really I’ve

[29:24] always wanted to play that one play that one that one Co-op oh my God but can you you that’s a random Co-op one right well okay Co-op quickly a funny story I was

[29:37] playing and it’s like a two three hour game like from beginning to end right so I’m playing along and you reach certain levels I’m in second level and I see

[29:45] another person pop up right so I’m like oh he’s telling me to like there’s no speech in the game there’s no voice there’s no speech you can hit a button

[29:53] and it has like a little symbol that pops up so you know that somebody’s trying to communicate with you so this person was doing that and sending me

[30:00] over to a light so I thought I thought it was the AI teaching me how to do that level because something new is introduced in that level but it turned

[30:10] out to be a person um because that person was doing like spinning around me and stuff so I’m like okay it’s not AI this is actually a

[30:20] human and I went through the entire game with them from start to finish like one sitting because I didn’t I felt bad if I left because there’s no way to let him

[30:30] know that I’m I’m leaving but that’s interesting what’s really cool not well want to come to bed but it’s some I

[30:41] can’t let this stranger down he depends on me yeah in the morning but when you do play it play all the way through like if you can in one sitting great two

[30:51] sittings even better that’s fine but wait until the end credits because it’s really there’s a neat thing in there that’s all but it’s really it’s a neat

[31:00] game and that’s one of the co-op experiences that may might be your baby step into social networking online because

[31:08] it’s you have to communicate a totally different way like there’s no you’re doing like I don’t know movements with your character to try and tell them

[31:16] something and there’s no voice like there’s you just go and try and figure out the puzzles that are in the game it’s kind of NE jeez did I tell you

[31:23] about like the the event I did with Street Fighter like the random Fight Night for R like for lowl guys like myself who were playing it oh

[31:34] yeah yeah yeah yeah you yeah I I mentioned yeah that was that in itself in its entirety was interesting and like everyone seemed relatively supportive

[31:43] but some of the stuff that happened was like I typed I even typed out messages like okay well it’s uh doing rayu if you guys any tips or like looks like I’m all

[31:50] up next it’s just small messages to try to put out there and just no response nothing oh like and that’s like worse than the like the feeling of like not

[32:01] doing it like that you’re too worried to do something is when you do it and there’s like actually just dead pants silence like everyone in the room looks

[32:08] at you like who the hell brought the uh what are you do brought the old man over here you’re putting yourself on the line right there nice nice Fanny Pack

[32:32] weathered um so I did have a dad thing that uh so it’s a bit targeted to Jeff um as always Gavin interested to hear your thoughts on it because it curious

[32:43] if it’s a boy thing probably which which immediately hints to like what it’s about yeah so the wi

[32:52] man whenever given the opportunity just loves to yank on his penis oh dude you’re just like it’s it’s like literally it’s it’s Troublesome even now

[33:22] some part of it is too like he’s super I mean he’s like a year and four months now so it’s really particularly nothing but

[33:31] it’s kind of almost training myself as like I’m not because I don’t want to make a big deal of it it’s like but in that you know it’s like I don’t it’s

[33:39] like I don’t want to attach negativity to that and like be like like no never don’t touch like that’s that’s Satan’s nose don’t touch that thing

[33:46] like Satan’s nose wow want like a like a bit’s Motel situation on right where so it’s like you don’t want to like call attention to it and

[33:57] like be like super excitable about that particular thing it seems very natural but at the same time like those are kind of a limit that you maybe want to

[34:06] introduce like maybe um well I’ll tell you one thing that’s definitely a boy thing um by by it very nature but I mean

[34:16] that’s in like every yes so try having two because they both go down there and they both run around naked touching themselves cuz

[34:27] that’s what boy do um to help you out though like what we’ve kind of implemented is most stps is you

[34:37] can do that stuff in the bathroom uh or your bedroom like that’s kind of your safe zones anywhere else is off limits like it’s just not good behavior it’s

[34:49] not good manners um uh you’re not going to get that across to a one-year-old so I think now it’s just Discovery I don’t think you can get around it right so you

[34:59] can slide until I’m not worried about it necessarily it’s just yeah and you shouldn’t be really just curious It’s just like huh that’s happening a whole

[35:07] lot and then it’s more it’s more the bothersome when you’re changing them because like come on just give me give me a second I just need to no you don’t

[35:15] get a second and my wife has never in her life dreamed that she would say some of the things like don’t put that in there don’t do that to that like it’s

[35:27] thanks giving dinner please honestly there is so many things that never mind anyway yes it will get worse but you can start talking them down from it like

[35:40] there’s a time and there’s a place please don’t stick it in there or do that with that thing like there’s or please R Canadian Tire just yeah bath

[36:08] it becomes I think the more you overthink it though the more emphasis and weight it’ll naturally have like if he’s going for it and you don’t want him

[36:17] to go at it right then just SWAT his hand out of the way or misdirection right yeah like hey look look at this ducky and then or Transformer yeah if

[36:27] I’m changing her and like she’s trying to get her hands down in the mess um because like girls are they are difficult for that sort of

[36:38] stuff as well um but if I want her to just like yeah your hands don’t need to be down here right now just hold on to this stuff and I’ll just give her like a

[36:47] toy or you know we have a little bottle of lotion that we do for like bedtime massage and stuff like that so we’ll get that to her basically it’s like here’s

[36:57] something interesting and it just sort of gets her mind off of it and it doesn’t make it like a no no thing it’s just like a yeah yeah okay whatever but

[37:06] look at this and it’s just redirect the attention and that way there’s no like like oh what sort of psychological thing am I doing it’s like no no no just

[37:15] playing to their you know baby attention span and it’s like here’s like set of keys great keep your hands out of the poop while I finish

[37:25] up it doesn’t it doesn’t help that uh I find it funny generious they just go and I’m just like oh geez look at them look at it happen

[37:36] and unfortunately my wife it’s like a little less entertained by it which makes it more entertaining for me yes yes I’m in the same it’s great because

[37:45] she’s kind of get yeah they don’t have them they don’t understand it’s just no and they look at you they’re like is did you do this like is this

[37:53] normal I don’t want to search online that’s weird is this what supposed to happen that’s not a Google search yeah do you’re gonna have cops at your house

[38:02] do not search before that ever that’s like I how get your door kicked in by the cops no I have a kid I’m just trying to

[38:12] figure stuff out yeah oh man so yeah anything I’m like probably way too entertained by it it’s just so funny but uh yeah know all right so that’s assume

[38:24] as much as it’ be natural still want to do a pict brain about it a bit and the it’s good that yeah I guess like the real like Gavin said just don’t uh don’t

[38:33] think too much on it and misdirect and then for yourself eventually you can sounds like eventually you can talk them down yeah or talk them off if you will

[38:41] like Jeff is at we can actually reason with them but right now like you’re in like Primal baby mode and Primal baby mode can’t be reasoned with so just

[38:52] distract them with shinier things until they understand language enough that you can exp them this is do this speaking of Primal baby mode I one of the so this

[39:02] week my son will start to visit the toddler room at daycare and then next week this Friday he is full-time out of the baby room he’s up up with the

[39:12] toddlers now up into I guess they’re two three maybe even four I’m not I haven’t seen all the ages of the kids up there but he’s graduating on to the next class

[39:22] I just yeah as a moment of like huh getting uh getting real big aren’t you boy how about that there’s a moment too when I was uh putting him in the

[39:36] Thunderdome it’s gonna be I think it’s gonna be great for his development be curious to see what happens now that he’s not the biggest guy in class If he

[39:43] if he has like aert dominance or if like how he handles it or I’m mostly excited about what how much more I think he’ll learn now from like bigger kids and

[39:51] seeing them do stuff but there’s definitely a moment where I was putting them to bed and generally um he’s been great about going to bed like we hardly

[39:59] we don’t really rock him to sleep anymore we just give him kind of like a little bit of comfort and then set him down and he sorts himself out very very

[40:05] quietly doesn’t even like cry anymore but the there’s just one more when I was trying to hold him except there like his length now is beyond my upper

[40:14] torso so so it’s like kind of hard to fit he’s kind pushing off and going in and just like it’s again that like moment of pain of like huh you’re not uh

[40:24] you’re not going to get any smaller are you this is it’s going to keep keep this is it isn’t it like that’s the last moment as far as that tiny stuff so I

[40:32] remember so at one point when he has he was falling asleep it was like just a super conscious effort to appreciate it to just drink in that moment and like

[40:41] memorize it like how wonderful that is for setting them down because has even like within months I might not be able to do that this guy’s getting

[40:51] huge baby he’ll be tucking you in yeah please yes please so that not interesting father moments like just passing those barriers

[41:03] of like not uh man baby no more just think 40 episodes ago you were like he’s not gonna sleep I know what I’m doing how would I got a

[41:19] bed now it’s just like he’s pushing me away trying to get into bed like put me down I want go to sleep let me go Dad I’m 24 please suck it out 40

[41:30] episodes ago you’re like what were you bouncing on a yoga ball playing hear stone with one hand yeah exactly H those are the days good old hearstone I was

[41:40] think about that the other day would it be fun to get back into it it’s like only only I think I only have one

[41:49] time to get beaten there’s only one game I can get beaten at awfully at any one time I think and it was hurtstone I just got mobed into until I

[41:57] could care less than it was Street Fighter um I keep think that keeps poking back me I keep thinking like I should probably get back in that a

[42:04] little bit but now it’s definitely OverWatch and that’s what I get killed in all the time there’s one game at least to bring

[42:12] to bring me humility every little bit so the H Sunrise Sun Cats in the Cradle with the silver wow single tear just down your face

[42:27] H so let’s talk about beer yeah I was GNA say let’s like we into alcohol now perfect timing so my myself I don’t actually have the beer on me I’d had it

[42:36] previously but I just noted it it was a oatmeal sto jeez it’s going be hard to pronounce so it’s from left field and actually gez

[42:45] now that think of I’ve seen this in the beer store and had never actually picked it up and now I will so it’s from Left Field Brewery it’s ephus oatmeal brown

[42:54] ale ephus pronounced or spelled e e p s ephas sound to me let’s with that yeah epas oatmeal brown ale that it is delicious super dark uh very much for

[43:10] this time of year as we’re coming into fall um smooth ton of flavor that just a fantastic beer and like I said I’ve been seeing this in the um lbo for quite some

[43:22] time the label looked almost a little bit cheap so I didn’t really think much of it but and after trying it at a bar it was just like yeah this is this is

[43:30] going to be picked up especially for the upcoming season with fall and winter so eph oatmeal brown ale from Left Field highly recommend it

[43:40] nice uh Gavin uh I went with h downhill pale ale calling breweries it was tasty um popping little sweet

[43:55] uh all in all though it was good it was kind of your had that sort of quintessential micro brew kind of hoppiness to it um but not too too much

[44:05] you know just on the cusp of being a little heavy but uh didn’t really overstate its welcome in that regard and yeah um really the the can caught my eye

[44:16] and uh I’d heard good things about calling wood so I thought I’d give one to try and uh I like pale LS and this one’s pretty tasty it’s definitely a um

[44:27] you know a single pint just sip it enjoy it uh I don’t know whether I would have like more than one like I know I don’t think it’s a really a two in a row kind

[44:36] of beer um but all in all it was uh it was really enjoyable Jeff yourself yeah I’ll go along with that uh another IPA crosswind

[44:48] hail L from uh Lake a Bas Brewing Company um it’s another um it’s another good beer it’s not to Hoppy so I could probably have a ton of these These are
