Episode 49: Stealing Candy, Not If But How Much | New Dad Gaming

[0:00] well it’s movember so you could just start yeah that wasn’t okay I would be sleeping on the couch yeah well oh yeah i came across the movember pitchers it’s

[0:15] this horrible I see across it is a gross McLaws and I support my friend who’s who are brave enough to do it um but unfortunate i just can’t take off that

[0:26] mantle um because if too much jeopardy to the relationship so I remember being in a toys r us with my first book newborn at that time with with the

[0:39] mustache and I just felt like I shouldn’t be there where the cameras are panning to me that’s really I have a kid I’m I’m okay you had that not allowed

[0:53] within 400 meters in school yeah yeah mine doesn’t come in full either so it’s like that weird dirty kind of scraggly yep oh it’s on that note yeah the show

[1:17] the adult beverages are poured the kids are asleep welcome to new dad gaming a show about fatherhood gaming and new fathers figuring out their game lives

[1:26] and mustache terrible terrible that new dad mustaches my name is Trevor I have no mustache and I have a one-year-old my name is Gavin on clean shaven were the

[1:38] one year old I’m Jeff I get semi facial hair right now I get a six year old and a three year old just it just felt like a kind of felt like such a dad thing to

[1:49] be able to have a mustache and beard like it apparently my dad had struggled growing one but I recall there’s some good times you had a pretty decent beard

[2:01] and my prospects are none like it doesn’t happen this is this is as dirty as I risky going before it goes off the rails very quickly

[2:11] yeah but the yes so then I then I see people at Gavin like your beard was impressive last week thank you I was actually very pleased with how it came

[2:22] oh yeah it’s Bearden you have that superpower forgot good appearance like that was only a month of growth that’s good and that was what was trimming it

[2:36] back to like I picked up just a bit cheeky little tremor with the guy look like roll guards on it so you can just keep it at a certain length so like that

[2:44] was me kicking it back and he swapped into so I didn’t look too much like I’ve been lost in the desert yeah i was i was wondering i didn’t know whether I can

[2:55] grow like one that would cover all the tureen like I wasn’t sure if I’d have liked areas that just were just you know not proper farm land yes just want you

[3:09] to keep talking about i just want to see how many more analogies for beard you can come yeah wait yelling sure he’ll know now how rough will the Seas become

[3:19] yeah how cloudy will the sky look for a herd is thick yeah would be a peach or a pineapple like what what fruits shall my face be affairs but the reason for the

[3:35] glorious beard was for Halloween which has come and passed I think it’ll be great really curious what Jeff mean you went with when I with your kids and I

[3:45] guess like the that’s the ultimate next steps forward is the going out and trick-or-treating like with the actual kids at this point Gavin I don’t know if

[3:54] you dressed up your kid at all cuz where’s pretty much at the trust him up against it will make him look cute face still oh yeah we totally took advantage

[4:02] of the fact that she had no say in the matter so very weak arm strength you see ya just oblivious it’s like here’s a prop toy fun um so we did like a full

[4:14] family stranger things outfit so we dressed her up his 11 because she doesn’t have any hair um and we did a demi gorgon dog and yeah my

[4:28] wife was all decked out christmas lights and nice little green shirt and stripes and stuff i sported the beard and sheriff’s hat and i went kind of half

[4:39] share of half civvies with his outfit i didn’t go full-blown khaki outfit because I just didn’t have it and I didn’t have time to find it so I liked

[4:49] is more you know I’m gonna go to a bar and sweet-talk somebody when that doesn’t work I’m going to punch him kind of look so yeah we did that and that was

[4:58] a lot of fun we actually got everything out like one of those like that good for our non-canadian listeners of Valley villages like a stretch store and we

[5:09] went there did I mention any bloating one my voice very particular i mentioned that we’ve made a demi gorenberg we did like the petals around his collar so

[5:23] yeah that was fun nice the dog that’s great totally like she didn’t have a say in matters well here’s this it’s cute it’s pretty fun re cool we’re doing the

[5:30] costume that like a lot of people are doing because it’s an awesome show when everybody was excited to take part in it and it’s basically the Halloween is just

[5:38] like cosplay holiday that’s really what it turns into but I’m excited for next year to find it like when she can start to actually verbalize her interests and

[5:48] be like what do you want to be like doggie ok good doggie Hulk princess ok alcohol princess doggie Oh fine why not what is the surgery toes commercial now

[6:02] link yeah all of it you’re everything do this sweetie so yeah whatever you do you dress your little one up against its will oh we have very much against his

[6:15] will to biz he just the key part is a giraffe costume and like a key part of it is like obviously the head that goes on top he hates hats just loads that my

[6:24] daughter hates hats too in like woods like yeah the only way to keep the hood up is you got to put the mitts on her first so she loses the dexterity to pull

[6:34] it off without it yeah like so you’re trapping them yeah but she likes the mittens which is funny so I was like you go to put the

[6:42] mittens on she holds a little hand out like oh this is fun put the mittens on me and you’re like you’re just falling into this trap sweet and then you put

[6:49] the mittens on her and then you put the hat on the hood over the hat and then she’s just like they’re just in her little stroller is a calling at her head

[6:57] just trying to get it off he’s just not working and then she gives up and then then you’re fine it’s all good but I couldn’t imagine with your little one

[7:05] what the draft would I was just just clung and he would have forget it sometimes but for most part it was off and creepy was creepy as one point we’re

[7:15] just going along in the stroller need taking it off except it’s sat so perfectly on his shoulder so as to look like he had two heads weirdest I were

[7:25] just struggling along with this abomination look baby had a giraffe head but no it was great too because I costume just showed up neither my wife

[7:35] or i remember buying that thing we don’t remember getting it as a gift but we’re going to the closet it’s there were like giraffe okay yeah draft this year neat

[7:48] it fits we’re done we did it yeah we were out look we didn’t dress up but this year ourselves a little more low-key but who yeah I know we’d like we

[8:03] should recall dressing up last year either Oh two years in a row traffic we had you man did we not do something I even something lame ooh 0 for 2 i’m

[8:17] going as comfortably as I can that’s the she’s quick sidebar my favorite costume ever pulled off what if this was you Gavin actually but everyone I’ve ever

[8:30] pulled off was kind of late so my wife and I just went as late which involved us wearing a shower cap having like some shampoo in a housecoat and just trying

[8:42] to look I was like like frazzled as possible so I they come up it’s like what are you supposed to be late and they lie they laughed and we laughed and

[8:50] secretly we’re just wearing a house it’s in public it was amazing so comfortable it’s only lost entry so I’d like a BuzzFeed top ten like how to

[9:01] spend no money on we’re late how to fashion a halloween costume and stuff you find at a hotel oh yes but yeah I mean I got a whole thing with candy and

[9:14] I’m curious like for both of you as well with Jeff if you want to dine here you or Halloween experience with the two little ones especially since they’re of

[9:23] candy getting age yeah um very different than when they’re in a stroller and can’t move so I much to Gavin’s family I dressed up as 11 and went out with my

[9:37] kids into work but also when I was yeah thank you oh that was a great costume um my three-year-old hated it he didn’t like the hair for whatever reason he did

[9:50] not like would cry for me to have it on but we got over that anyway yes to go trick-or-treating with stationary baby objects and carrying them from house to

[10:03] house and kind of setting them down and saying trick or treat very different than my experience last night where I’m trying to contain my six-year-old and my

[10:11] three-year-olds a little bit you know slower obviously so my six year olds notice some friends he’s running up ahead my three-year-olds trippin on his

[10:20] pirate costume so I’m kind of stretch in between both kids and my wife SAT home giving out candy so a little bit different than you know just kind of a

[10:31] la dee da go around the block and enjoy the night it’s kind of like okay um where’d he go and he um okay he’s he’s dressed as a pokemon trainer and there’s

[10:41] a lot of Pokemon out here oh I’m trying to weave in and out and get my three-year-old to kind of skip houses to catch up but it did work out in the end

[10:51] if you make friends with the neighborhood dads and stuff the one of the dads of his friends was nice enough to take my my six-year-old ahead and

[11:00] then kind of wait at the corner at the end of the street or whatever until him we caught up so it worked out but man it is like

[11:09] running house-to-house he didn’t quit my three-year-old kept up with them so we were out there for a good hour and a half just hitting houses and dumping the

[11:18] bags of candy into like an external like sack that I had good um eventually we got it all home but it was it was high energy compared to the year before where

[11:31] my five-year-old was kind of chill and I had a two-year-old that was you know he was walking but a couple houses would be good for him but yeah now it’s different

[11:41] like this is a new norm for next few years because yeah you know until until the six year old gets old enough he’s like I don’t want to trick-or-treat I

[11:51] want to go throw eggs yeah yeah guess finally yeah I don’t have to go or even old enough to go with his friends right like just to go around and then just be

[12:01] back at a time that’s gonna be a little ways off so yeah this will be the norm for a while and I don’t know everyone had a blast the end but I was tired it

[12:09] was a it was a long night okay now real real talk I mean this is just us dad’s here you know just dads and some drinks how much of your kids candy did you eat

[12:18] and have you eaten so far oh we’ve already sectioned that off there get none of it like there’s a tax there’s a dad packs yeah and I take back the

[12:28] candies for the parents let’s let’s be honest now I realize what my childhood was about would send the kids out for candy but no I’ve eaten a lot says I

[12:40] thought like one of my thoughts was if I ended because he looked great in his giraffe costume like babies are easy and to look good but if i drag them around

[12:50] my neighborhood could I could I just get a ton of candy for free guess he sees clearly not maybe they’d think that he’s gonna eat it like he’s walking so if I

[12:59] got him to like Ike I just like showed him in front the door like hey it’s a baby hey lady candy that’s a big it’s a kid I was wondering if I could how much

[13:10] I’d be able to collect horse people would like call me on it it’s like he’s too young to eat candy I always only know one I was gonna go canada babies

[13:17] like the ones that could hold their bag okay yeah I know they’re not gonna yeah it’s for the parents I totally get it it’s for the parents so I just stitched

[13:25] the bag into his hope so the soletta kind of walk around with it by default I’m get my hand kept myself some candy let’s make it already or costume like a

[13:35] hunchback and he’s just on your back and you just told it your back no free food for a week we’re all set yeah cuz um so you you guys were out for an hour and a

[13:49] half yeah and that was yeah an eternity so I remember like the we had I had 10 kids at my house like 10 and I live in a relatively young neighborhood like

[14:03] there’s definitely kids in the area so I don’t know where the heck they went like I don’t know if there’s like a sweet spot in Toronto you just go to or if

[14:12] they’re just not trick-or-treating anymore but Gavin I was we’re talking I mean that’s a that is a bounty just left on the table like we used I used to go

[14:19] out for like five hours like it as soon as got close to dark we were hitting every possible house like I don’t know if it’s just different now

[14:28] trick-or-treaters like is how do you think do you think you’re out there for five hours that like you probably out there for like an hour and a half it

[14:36] just felt like no I mean like we we would go until people told us we have no candy they shut off the lights or like it’s is isn’t it late I me so I’m

[14:47] literally talking like six until ten that is late like the we would it was it was all in man like that was again it’s a small town so we could almost at every

[14:58] single host but I don’t Gavin if you had the same type of experience with yeah exa miser he alone like the the town I grew up in wasn’t a huge midsize city

[15:13] but some years we would hit up like I had family in some of the surrounding rural areas so sometimes we go to like some of the smaller little towns and

[15:22] villages which would be fun because usually those places the the number of houses you would hit or like the it goes down but those houses

[15:34] are like full-size candy bar canepa like it it’s sort of because it’s like they know that the kid count there is relatively small because to get out

[15:44] there is a bit of a hassle um so that’s usually where you can go it was quite apt full then those other neighborhoods or a little more suburban so each ear

[15:54] was sort of a little bit different but I remember seeing like a lot of kids out in the streets and stuff and like it being relatively busy so but just from

[16:06] what I’ve been hearing him neighborhood like from some of the other parents a neighborhood talking about the park next day and even with like our apartment

[16:14] building we had to lobby like fully decorated looked awesome and they had like a big bowl for the candy and people there to hand it out so very inviting

[16:23] like you could tell from the sidewalk that’s like this is phil your bag here come on in but i guess the i was talking to the people of my lobby last night i

[16:34] was taking the dog doesn’t really really quiet tonight yeah i guess a lot of the action was like a couple streets over so i think maybe i don’t maybe maybe

[16:45] there’s like some social media dark web for trick-or-treaters and like that’s where they know where all the good spots are and it’s like best kept secrets of

[16:56] like kids it’s like everybody cancer playing pokemon go on like you know november or on like october 28 but they’re not they’re actually liking some

[17:05] back-channel form talking about the street west gauteng it if chocolate bar learn full chocolate bar alert yeah Smith’s time we go Oh would actually be

[17:18] an interesting app to do is like Google Maps think it’s totally like invasion of privacy but like you can tag houses as like this is don’t put that out there

[17:34] man we’re on the receiving end of that now piece of a never go for candy bar yeah cuz he could it be swore yeah jolly good yes I maybe it’s just a

[17:49] I mean so Jeff it sounded like you saw a decent number of kids and families out then like maybe such rano downtown thing no I do definitely think that kids

[17:58] aren’t out as much like again I was from a smallish home town and we we get 150 kids at least right now we average probably 50 60 which i think is low but

[18:11] apparently that’s pretty average and I live in a pretty big city with lots of kids and lots of young families so I don’t know if they’re just no not

[18:20] hitting the same amount of houses I don’t know but yeah it was crowded it just doesn’t seem like they go to a lot of houses a lot of people driving cars

[18:28] to which oh that’s no you don’t do that yeah it wasn’t cold out like come on I could see it if like to bring a kid to a neighborhood if you happen to live you

[18:39] know and allows the neighborhood four-door bunch of condos maybe but long as you just drop him off and then like all right now go yeah in it like you

[18:47] know they were coasting we gotta something you use the car to get to the neighborhood that you want to hit up that year and then like you street park

[18:58] the car and then say okay yes is it or even sometimes to like when I was a kid we would do different neighborhoods sort of like a friend would be like okay

[19:08] let’s let’s do my neighborhood this year will use my house is like a home base you know or like a cousin or someone it was actually yours but you’re what we

[19:18] did our place or it was like okay your friends can come over and you’ll meet and you know you have some pizza or something you fill up on some dinner and

[19:27] then you all go out and then y’all come back sit on a limb floor and do that whole like candy barter exchange thing and then all the kids go home so that

[19:37] would switch up every year kind of things like who’s hosting it what neighborhood wants cocoa and then that would result in a commute but we

[19:46] wouldn’t use the car to get from door door yeah like you would park that the hosts place or you know relatively nearby and then it’s like all right

[19:57] go push it then kind of trusting to watch how these sorry glad no just like there’s that sort of sense of like you need to earn it you know let’s get it

[20:08] work gotta work for your dinner for your weeks of candy yeah maybe curious to watch is regional funny too because now that i think it was like yeah i know my

[20:18] parents probably ate a good chunk right is it that’s why that’s why i went so quickly all of a sudden yeah and all that good stuff kept dwindling yeah the

[20:26] full-size chocolate bars that I gotta eat that that’s my now all the chips know are you taking a crown jewel that’s y Angeles though now my six-year-old is

[20:36] getting a memory you admitted it on video by the way I’ll pay for this later but my six-year-old can now remember in the morning what he got like almost

[20:44] every piece of candy so it’s getting harder I don’t know I don’t gonna be able to place Reese’s Pieces number seven but yeah okay the Smith residence

[20:52] he marks them all off he’s like wait a minute spreadsheet open yes but I think that’s the second part of your app Gavin it’s just like candy tracking what I got

[21:05] where and I’ll see no inventory sheets I’m just like pop up no I think it’s me interesting to watch as we go through moments like this where that’s we have

[21:18] memories of what it was like when we were kids and specific experiences ideally like good ones like we were fortunate sounds like all of us to have

[21:26] kind of good experiences with Halloween you’d like to think that the kids can do it as well be kind of fun to watch well fun or more interesting really to see as

[21:34] they butt up against new realities in the current world with against our old experiences for what because maybe our way of trick-or-treating doesn’t exist

[21:43] anymore i think that’s being I think that’s overstating it i think it’s alive and well doing great beaky kind of see those now that delta between our

[21:51] experiences as youth and like oh I want my kid to have that experience but that experience might not exist anymore maybe we were seven year olds running around

[22:01] in a safe whole town but he can’t really we all three of us sort of we had really good experiences but it actually sounds like our experiences

[22:11] very unique from one another as well so like though we want to share what mean got to experience our kid I think the bigger thing is like we just want to

[22:22] make sure that they get the same level of enjoyment and excitement and fun from it and how they’re able to come to that is I think something that they craft

[22:38] themselves and that there are certain things that they might be able to take from our experiences and a little hints that we can give them uh you know it’s

[22:50] like oh whoa if they got a fountain in front here go there but like I think also too is like we also to be somewhat receptive to like how is it going to

[23:01] change not as much based on the times which is based on their experience the types of friends that they have the types of explode the types of activities

[23:12] that they like to do together um oh yeah it’s I think of big things like we want to make sure that following still States fun you know and still visible as to do

[23:23] and that they bring a lot of candy home yeah they pay that they pay the dad tax yeah great man she’s a great to actually just set that as rules kids welcome back

[23:36] that’s great did do you have your tiding yeah I’m gonna get one of those old-timey like scales yeah and it’s like just make them bed until the scale that

[23:48] balances out they can’t they can’t come in the house dad it’s cold please that there’s rules in this society second and here’s the thing too is I would probably

[24:00] keep it going like all year round because like you know like they just sort of chipped through the candy eventually there’s that like congealed

[24:06] pillowcase the bottom of the closet you just throw it because the legend weapon at that point but what I would do is like they want to try to get it of a

[24:16] chore I’ll just pull the scale it again I think you’re onto something don’t look at that you wanna make crooked cop well I could let this chore slide if we said

[24:31] hey the money let’s just say if you sweet-talk me a little bit yeah yeah exactly and yeah like okay that’s going to be you don’t want to shovel the walk

[24:42] way mm-hmm okay okay all right that was a Snickers but this molasses candy you’re grounded let’s say I not exactly it’s like whizzes candy corn yeah oh

[24:57] great immediately I pull up like a google search for boarding schools and out of bed without dinner son come on standards the suggest besides Halloween

[25:12] adventures what gaming did you get up to in the week me sure yeah really excited I did because I have something to share okay Gavin so what did uh Gavin how was

[25:31] your week in gaming it was good it was normal um not I was do you think I want to hear what it’s good good go toyou know yeah Stu it’ll save you for last

[25:42] Hilda hype though it’s not too much height now nothing too late trains building this is no man’s sky all over again you’re caught Gavin how was your

[25:53] week in gaming those did I thought I played a little bit of this little bit of that but last night my wife and I played small combat but we played it as

[26:03] like the horror character that were available so we had like a Jason Voorhees Leatherface battle we did like an alien vs predator battle and stuff

[26:12] that was a lot of fun very festive halloween ask I’ve been eyeing up until dawn and this right now on sales the Playstations a week of the dead are to

[26:25] sale it’s on right now so I might pick that up because I think I could be a lot of fun yeah my spirit then that is Halloween when we need a

[26:36] family trip we have friends who have twins and they turned one so that was a great big party a lot of kids and are a little long running around and having a

[26:45] great time so that was a lot of fun Beauty lead for myself I’d I beat a game at sita game ok no you have the news that’s big yeah that is I can’t I cannot

[26:59] think of the last time actually beat a game can you put a trophy that appears up here and it’s just like trophy I believe it again ding finally managed

[27:09] without over exaggerating I it might be two years since I beat a game oh cuz I kept jumping into all these like time big experiences like you’ve heard me

[27:18] talk like I’m talking I had a leak dangerous Street Fighter no man’s sky like just like there was a what was the name of Just Cause 3 which I never beat

[27:28] because it just got I was done with it and it was too big house just like don’t have time for you so just it’s been a long streak of never ending games and

[27:39] yes this is with gravity rush it ended when it needed to she looks great maybe a little volcom at best friend is the entire game feels like a trailer for two

[27:51] which at the time wasn’t announced like I think it’s now coming out yeah I think now like I’ve seat Rose forward yeah by the way it ended it felt like an ending

[28:00] where you know when you beat the game but you better Lee beat the game and the game very condescendingly shows you and ending it’s like oh yeah you buted great

[28:07] job good job player whoo yeah great effort that’s what the ending felt like it so I googled it immediately like multiple endings like is this it and it

[28:20] is and it’s totally just a setup for the number two which hadn’t come now for I don’t know how well that game is like I think that’s 2011 for five years say

[28:29] would look great loved it thought that game to death that was fantastic it just a real game gamers game I guess you’d call just like peaks valleys like

[28:39] challenge great love it like check mark done and actually so that so now a so now comes the Kenai and i did a bunch of VR gaining so in it

[28:52] this reality sucks that realities better largely playing the driving game of all them I find that’s the one I keep going back to oh yeah it’s it’s kind of the

[29:01] worst graphics honestly like it’s notably downgrade graphics but just like being in the car and that challenge like it’s fantastic I’m loving it they

[29:10] realize that all the tracks for it to recently like 25 or something wasn’t such a huge amount yeah yeah it’sit’s fendt amount of contents phenomenal and

[29:19] it’s just a lot of fun so loving it but that’s a bigger question their quandary to you dad’s is I now have to start another game yeah in front of me is just

[29:32] a sea of choices so here’s so here’s a list of the ones that I’ve wanted to get to for a while and I’d like you to argue for one of them but I shouldn’t start

[29:43] into so we have no particular order let’s geez we have journey we have that’s an easy beat come on easy win anyway yeah we didn’t get through the

[29:55] first one ok journey we have bioshock we have the Bioshock series 1 2 and 3 I want to get through through them there’s nathan drake so nathan drake for or

[30:09] uncharted 4 sorry I guess it’s called uncharted 4 um cheese so where there was another one there’s probably another two or three let’s start let’s go oh and

[30:21] then infamous infamous have to miss games that is down it in second son yeah exactly so the infamous games bioshock journey uncharted 4 so you’re hear

[30:34] arguments dad’s i would avoid infamous because i think some of the superpower mechanics might be to reminiscing the game you just be excellent point the in

[30:47] keeping with lion general rule if i beat a game the next one on client should be a little bit different whether it’s like switching from third person the first

[30:54] person or dull playing game to shooter we try to switch it up so I would recommend against that one poster I 11 last last second entry Resident Evil 4

[31:07] i’d have you excuse never play that one before sorry last second entry whereas an evil 4 because I keep seeing it and I keep seeing it heralded as such an

[31:19] amazing game from back in the day I had at the time now that’s true ok I would say no to bioshock just because it’s a trilogy and that’s a lot of investment

[31:35] my dad is probably good 30 hours i would say maybe more all the time that’s what I was like three years of dad time yeah 15 chaka you that’s like no man’s sky

[31:46] tutorial hi like it’s yeah good time yeah i would say uncharted 4 that’s just me it’s Pirates is kind of off halloween there’s pirates on halloween a good

[31:58] pirate story 1015 hours your life so that one was tempting because that like I I would call that the apex of well not yeah a pix a ps4 gaming in many ways

[32:13] like that is the one of the experiences to have with a ps4 and I haven’t had it yeah you know since having his console so did that did sing to me a bit as far

[32:23] as you’ve experienced the rest no experience the best guess for not to say other games aren’t great but just like you know it that’s the one like it and

[32:34] I’ve never had a chance to play any of those games i was curious in it but um that seems to be leading any neither argument still Gavin no I think that

[32:47] would be like that’s actually probably next on my list um it’s it’s on my shelf just sort of winking at me every swapping Burton thank you guys you can

[35:59] do you want it and like here don’t I’ll tell you why didn’t you didn’t do it Natalie gave it to know and there we have it ok so the game your epic quest

[36:13] is now reopened icon systems and then reopen them it’s me you arrived back at your castle with the Grail yeah and you just allowed somebody to put in a

[36:28] catapult and shoot it off into the dark woods again yeah so you know anyway like like did you play it already wait i installed it it’s looking at me oh my

[36:42] god you jump back in while you well it’s still kind of fresh right like did I wait we’re gonna go back in and just finish her off yard see just get into it

[36:51] now right I’m thinking man you’ve we found your happy place man just hear you’re a Witcher your which you’re Richard Jeff the only game i own this

[37:00] generation that’s taken a high time i was looking at Skyrim but i decided against it i’ll buy it again a lot of stuff I’ve seen for it and don’t get me

[37:09] wrong Skyrim has claimed way way more hours of my free time and it should um huge fan be game i love it but there’s i’ve seen some of the progressions that

[37:22] were made in it just not quite enough to me back and maybe it’s because I’ve been more than satisfied with the way it was first done that I don’t really feel like

[37:35] the special edition does enough for me um so yeah I just like I would rather if I’m gonna get back into skyrim I’d rather just jump back into my old game

[37:45] and maybe finish doing um yeah well cause of the same mind because the I’d heard that anyone who owned a version was getting a special MPC was getting a

[37:56] graphical upgrade to it must have misunderstood the selling of its own I’d ever beat it so what was gonna be great is like okay well here’s the impetus to

[38:05] finally beat this thing like you’re giving me an upgrade now as I look better I’d have never thought it looked particularly bad but it’s like all right

[38:13] final now I’ll beat it sure can s Adele you’re too is it’s like– yes like the same gold you you knew and loved now shiny shiny that’s gold yeah same

[38:26] witcher you knew you would love and hated just more of it yes so what’s more well that’s the thing they held me back from it tues right like I played Witcher

[38:35] 3 which is just head and shoulders graphically above Skyrim I won’t comment on the gameplay because those are kind of apples oranges but I don’t know if I

[38:46] can go back to a world that was so full in which ER and then skyrim’s it’s just what five six year old game so and it XD bucks on ps4 no thanks i bought it three

[38:59] dollars SSD it’s coming out like full force like 79 bucks yeah yeah yeah like they’re not shine it’s like manna that’s great but didn’t really fix the

[39:11] character models so no good thanks and i saw one thing I wish with Bethesda games like following Skyrim itself it’s just sometimes the character models I find

[39:25] near the part of the game that ages the quickest their environments and stuff those big brush stroke moments are still stomach but when you get up nose to nose

[39:34] with the characters that’s when it really isn’t even oblivion like if you stand on a crook side and over both that environment and bloody it books still

[39:45] really nice if there immersive music and everything’s just kidding but the character models are the things that you’re just like oh wow yeah

[39:54] okay exactly what here you remain but the thing is is like they have to contend with just the restrictions of they are making big open worlds and to

[40:07] make it so variable so like I get it whereas which i think the direction that they take is a little bit more crafted because they hone in some of the

[40:21] variable nature of it but in doing so they allow themselves that opportunity to put more detail into it and just yeah buses in your game the tech is better

[40:32] you know can you imagine like the environmental artist like huge breast stroke like space looks beautiful moon awesomeness and then the character model

[40:43] guy puts his models and you just like dig what are you doing what does a piece he just like took a gun i’m scared i’m at one point was heavily hinting that i

[40:57] should get a wife Tom I was playing throws it was a male character i’m just like–that’s like what this lamp post like why would i even have this thing

[41:06] like generally like i’ve always found it to be dubious in games because it’s literally just a side quest with that isn’t very fun because it’s much more

[41:15] like a responsibility and but especially these characters like they would not very well fleshed out like their personalities and such and then just

[41:25] like they’ve just stand and the weird just barely moving like two steps above a tree and it’s just like this will be your betrothed I’m like nah man i don’t

[41:37] i’m not interested him I think the because what was the reason it was great in Mass Effect I think that’s probably what the only time I ever got into any

[41:48] type of romance thing was because so much of the cut scenes were just so cinematic and the characters so incredibly flushed out that you had you

[41:58] know you could have you could under stand a bond between those mmm bffs special just looking at the character my last Skyrim game in like marry one of

[42:07] these people like and she’s like the werewolves like move better than thank you look that he bought that I can’t to no thank you why does the thing too is

[42:17] that like with the mass effect there was a variable nature but the choices were somewhat limited as far as like the type of emotional response that would be

[42:29] triggered in the non-player characters so the animators could actually go in and really just fine-tune like a lip quiver and like a side I scowl you know

[42:41] things like that so they were able to get those characters to have a better emotional relationship to player then with skyrim where the responses are a

[42:51] little bit more like I hate to use a harsh term like this play a little bit more binary um yes by loading it because like you’re sitting there with like a

[43:02] dialog tree and all these different options and stuff and not only that but the characters also react to actions that you take in game world so there’s a

[43:12] lot of things affecting how they’re going to react to you so they can’t really do a lot and like obviously they are getting better um each iteration

[43:21] like followed forms getting a little bit better like they’re slowly starting to get character models or that uncanny valley um but it still got a bit of a

[43:30] hill to climb to get there and I think what man tell you then I really can’t wait for the next Mass Effect game when you talk about that like you take you

[43:40] take actions but only taking actions but then the reactions based on your cast there is a weird almost grasshopper like shy alien that never shows her face

[43:51] can’t get out of her suit there is a crazy there’s a blue the blue alien with like tentacles coming over the back of her head there is a super buff but gay

[44:02] marine guy there is a guy that kind of like a dog a gruff veteran there is a you know what I mean like it’s just like the cast that there is a crazy

[44:11] experiment geez looks like a the grown-up version of stranger things the girl the girl with all the tattoos and the shaved head

[44:20] like oh yeah and each of those and how you would you would do something like you punch out a guard and that the variance of how all those people react

[44:28] to how you did it like you would it’s funny to look back on it now and it’s just like the you were so spoiled for a variety of personalities in that game

[44:39] and who you wanted to companion was either romantically or just even like as you know it’s time to go shoot up a building like which two people are gonna

[44:47] bring with you yeah you know I sometimes would choose people because I’d say the funniest things it’s it’s like what about this what I mean Gareth because

[44:55] like his a is really gruff cut like humors fantastic all right I just want to see what he says when I punch people like was a mass effect right here

[45:07] connects oh yeah so but its mass effect Andromeda can’t wait that’s beautiful future alright so Jeff that was a mind-blowing thank you I hope so yeah I

[46:17] like that sort of wonder I think goal for its its it’s like a new kind of thing um so yeah it was but it was good it was

[46:28] nice clean finish remedies in flavor nice and smooth uh and yeah so I basically got it though I have to admit because um there’s a man space on the

[46:44] can he kind of looks like Indiana Jones but not like he’s pretty close it was clearly a rip off of me Joe just really close it’s pretty pretty close so it’s

[46:55] like if you were to do like a bootleg starring this guy so that was actually the main reason I got it come like sitting at a job oh wow no it’s not oh

[48:11] people are just pounding them back a lot faster yeah so I think it’s the fact that’s like you had these really hot tropical environments and these types of

[48:19] beers are better suited because honestly if if I was sitting on a beach mexico or like you know in a very humid jungle in Vietnam or goat island I don’t think I’d

[48:33] reach for a Bose lug tread you know I don’t think everyone goes waterloo dark Canadian micrograms yeah hydrate yourself too yeah it’s I think

[48:44] it’s type of ear this but like yeah to have it in October Canada no it’s the wrong setting for it you know so but yeah no I totally agree a bed that had

[48:56] seemed sort of feeling while I was trying but I had mine are really hot summer day it was quite refreshing so yeah yeah my opinion experiment right

[49:05] again when well over 30 plus degrees which should happen this week given no he would I know right that’s crazy thing is it’s for myself actually switching

[49:16] had nothing notable of beer so instead go with the whiskey and as yes it’s very kind it actually gotten this from it was for my birthday from a group of folks

[49:50] cork and the cap on it it’s quite a taste test there too yeah sort of Lee sample it oh yeah I put as is my tradition I was like the poor if ever

[50:13] is a fitting room it’s the drinking whiskey by the punch yeah solid plan to whiskey the it’s great though I mean I’m still not much of a whiskey person

[50:24] there’s certain occasions where it’s just excellent and there’s even some nights who are like whiskey would be good right now and this one in

[50:31] particular for a someone like myself was getting into it like it’s smooth there’s good luck flavor to it so it’s I think a person and my product likely Gavin if

[50:42] you ever around on have you tasted but I think someone with more of appreciation would appreciate much more notes of this thing like a

[50:49] I had someone with a certain palette for and he said it was excellent like a really excellent whiskey so again another conroe that’s punching above its

[50:57] weight which which is funny for us to say because like you guys growing up the candle in Crown Royal is what you put inside a coke yeah yeah crown Cola like

[51:11] yes and it’s like this is the first ride that you kind of cut teeth on when you are legal drinking what are you going all right kids kids right getting right

[51:26] up teacher stance crap load of problems um so yeah it’s a I think because it’s something that’s very just there you know it’s like JD of rye yeah but I

[51:41] think sometimes we forget to that like JD is actually a well-crafted group play or well-crafted like whiskey like it has I really do things with the oak that add

[51:57] certain nuances of flavor but i think the marketing team sometimes under cells that point to just like you know i’m gonna have some JD yeah ok yeah but like

[52:10] the distillery is making a nice product here we should maybe would exemplify that factor instead of just like making it go to for frat boys so yeah I think

[52:22] unfortunately like a crown royal had that sort of mentality where it was kind of taken up by more of the competitive drinking scene so okay think one of my

[52:36] favorite eliza so they it’s ok it comes in the very classic like purple bag right yeah what you’ll use for scrabble tiles eventually yes scramble one I can

[52:44] understand there’s this one commercial and it’s just like you know crown royal like the whiskey of choice in the purple bag where you put your hockey puck see

[52:53] like that’s not a thing that is not everything that’s a lie sir you’re grasping yeah are they really you’re trying

[53:02] they’re trying to make that a thing like I never said never my life for a hockey puck it’s my crown royal bag I’ve never seen it why would you don’t travel with
