[0:01] [Music] the adult beverages are poor the kids are asleep welcome to New dad gaming a show about fatherhood gaming and new

[0:13] fathers figuring out their gaming lives my name is Trevor and I have a one and a halfy old my name is Gavin and I have a one and a halfy old and I’m Jeff I have

[0:22] a six-year-old and three-year-old actually I think I kind of I kind of choked on that a little bit one I say my name is Trevor and I have a

[0:32] one and a half-year-old and another du at the end of August well wow congratulations buddy wow man you guys you Peg you pegged it

[0:44] too I was just like I wasn’t sure how because I want I wanted to get there’s so many things I want to ask about having a second one

[0:54] yeah so I didn’t want to prep you too much but then no you had a good Poker Face you just you’re like that’s it’s just a switch I swear what

[1:02] are you talking about it’s just a switch Yeah it’s just a switch Yeah so the um yeah gents so new dads it’s a I’m about to be a new dad

[1:13] again this is the the wife is at the moment 18 weeks pregnant we’re due August 28th so right at the end of it so we’ll see if it sneaks into September

[1:27] yeah hit the old reset button there which you mean with that like there would be three there’s three of us in the family with September birthdays so

[1:36] my wife and myself and would have have September birthdays and then the kid second kid would also have it so it’d be very September heavy so my uh my whole

[1:47] immediate family growing up we were all in August like mom dad and myself so it was uh wow that’s busy yeah made made for quite an exciting

[1:55] month see it’s that’s like you could just like go for a you know cruise and like all right everybody’s birthday priz Cru we kind of did that but it was

[2:06] more like we go to Swiss La so yeah there you go maybe not that Rockefeller but like you know we’d all go out for dinner and have some nice

[2:14] chicken dinner crazy we we we bought this cruise ship for all of us to enjoy for a a month of our birth and then we you know sink

[2:26] it I don’t know how you guys do your birthdays so the gez yeah um wow so very welcome news uh you know something we were

[2:38] trying for so like it’s it’s incredibly happy um I think especially with what we’d gone through with the first one um just wanted to ensure that incredibly

[2:46] happy that was we were able to you know succeed in finding a second and now it’s the realization there there was literally a moment where we had bought

[2:55] um like just a little U onesie for the new one so it’s just starting to oh I don’t mind sharing it either it’s it’s a boy as well

[3:05] so two boys oh jeez my hockey team grows I honestly want to get around to some questions and thoughts but the uh two quick stories on that so firstly in

[3:17] buying something like okay we found it the gender let’s buy this let’s buy the new guy little something to kind of celebrate hey we got a new baby neat and

[3:26] you go into a bathing baby clothing store it’s just like girl stuff girl stuff girl stuff girl stuff boy stuff there like it’s like one rack like

[3:39] hidden in the corner like okay here’s how you dress your boy yeah here’s like the dresses and like what’s funny though is I find the opposite like trying to

[3:48] dress our daughter like we go into the clothing stores here and it’s like the boys have all this cool Variety in color and it’s like yeah sure the girls have a

[3:56] lot to choose from as long as it’s pink so like like there’s the other end of the spectrum like yeah they have a lot of variety and styles and cut and fabric

[4:06] and stuff but just chromatically it’s very limited so like there’s that aspect as well like I think both genders kind of get uh shoehorned into these norms

[4:19] and it’s like with the boys it’s like oh jeans and a t-shirt have fun but then like all the t-shirts are really cool fun stuff and it’s like oh cool look

[4:26] it’s a dinosaur with a hang glider and a jetpack these juggling knives why not but like little girls is like my little princess cupcake and it’s like all that

[4:37] all the time so to find stuff that is great for little girls and it’s bright and it’s colorful and maybe a color other than pink uh yeah but yeah so I

[4:47] can see it’s like perspective is the same it’s like you go in and it’s like it’s all this like monster truck and blue it’s like well what if he likes

[4:55] red or my son my son loves purple good luck yeah good good chance so Gavin so how have you guys dealt with that have

[5:05] you like just dipped into boy clothing or have you ordered like just have you fought extra hard to find kind of non you hunt and then you also just there’s

[5:15] obviously going to be pink in the equation especially when they’re this young so but a lot of it is just hunting and like my wife’s been really good at

[5:21] finding a good variety so that way it’s just not always pink um but yeah sometimes finding like there’s different different the clothing designer I guess

[5:32] it’s kids clothes it’s not like it’s Michael Kors or anything I don’t even know if do they do clothes I don’t know I saw on it is that just

[5:40] purses I don’t know what I’m talking about but uh yeah no it’s my wife’s good hunting down some nice variety so like you know our daughter has some really

[5:50] fun pink stuff but we also have some other really fun colorful things but it’s funny because we got we picked up a snowsuit um and we grabbed one like

[5:58] secondhand because we’re like like yeah we don’t need to buy her a brand new snowsuit for the duration of time she’s in it um but it was blue and it was like

[6:05] it was like a nice sort of it was literally baby blue and she’s in it and she’s got pink mitts and a hat so there’s a little bit of each in there

[6:12] and then everybody thought she was a little boy the entire winter because she was wearing blue it’s like no or it’s like if she’s wearing like a gray

[6:20] sweater and some jeans and like just because she doesn’t have enough hair to make pigtails they’re like oh it’s a boy like no she’s just slow gr hair that’s

[6:30] all like it’s coming in it’s fine but like it’s it’s a little girl everything’s fine um but yeah it’s really weird and then like yeah it’s

[6:38] there’s even times like old ladies it’s like oh what a cute little boy oh it’s a girl actually but it’s in blue no it’s just you must be confused I really think

[6:47] you’re wrong on this I think you’re wrong on the gender of the little person that you changed diaper four multiple times a day got to be wrong on that like

[6:56] no I’m pretty sure I’m I’m I’m pretty confident yeah wait just a second oh my I’ve made a terrible mistake

[7:04] wow never noticed that thanks thanks for the hot tip that’s a yeah thanks random old lady in a grocery store you’re welcome she goes off to save another day

[7:16] yeah but yeah so we um and the we incredibly excited for I think we were both equally didn’t have much of a preference I think there was a bit of a

[7:25] leaning um you can’t talk about it without sounding like awful no you can talk about it we’ve had those conversations

[7:33] here at least would have there certainly would have been a lot of Joy with pass the awful Bridge a long

[7:41] time yeah wave into it in the rearview mirror try to save here yeah like have you not have you not watched our own shows have you not seen

[7:51] what you’ve said before a lot on tape but the um so obviously we thrill the fellow but the uh I think having had a boy we thought okay you know obviously

[8:00] it’d be very cute to have a little girl especially with yeah [Laughter] exactly so the um so it’s been

[8:13] especially painful like not painful but like in walking through these aisles and even like before finding out the gender is in those stores when she was

[8:21] my wife was seeing all the outfits it’s just like oh look at that’s that’s adorable oh look at that that’s adorable oh it’s like you’re having a boy

[8:31] like yeah all right you like you’re having a boy you see dollar signs you’re like all the money I can save from all the stuff I’ve

[8:42] hopefully kept which I think is in a garbage bag hopefully the attic with only few mice ridden there you go sections wash you’re

[8:52] good just give quick Shake shouldn’t be much of an issue some borax you’ll be fine baby’s being being known to be resilient to

[9:02] borax there’s a baby on the box so we had um yes we buy little something in just like this uh cute little jumper form and um that I think

[9:12] that’s got to be the one of the most pertinent because again with I can remember in the first time where as the dad you don’t have that like instant

[9:20] connection because you’re not growing the human inside of you so like that kind you have that kind of slow dawning of although actually I’ll turn that

[9:28] around on both of you after done I’d like to hear your thoughts on it but like when uh for myself it was kind of like a slow Dawning where it just all of

[9:34] a sudden you start to realize oh damn there there a baby coming oh my goodness what this time around what happened is like I was holding this little onesie

[9:43] that we had bought like tiny like it’s tight and I’m holding it like as I almost with a baby I’m like oh man there’s a baby coming oh man just like

[9:52] staring at this tiny once it’s like oh little there going be legs in this thing oh I remember this oh no oh why the uh that’s the moment where you

[10:02] you you’ve been tricked by the amena black flasher the memory flasher you’re like oh this is gonna be amazing and you’re like oh god what have I done the

[10:13] um yeah somebody turn it around there’ll be a bit of uh reflection so Gavin first on yours I guess even Jeff I’d like to hear about your realization of a second

[10:21] but Gavin with yours like do you recall your processed towards un real like the sudden realization you’re going to be a dad or were you you you kind of

[10:30] were you cognizant the whole time and it was cool did you have a late blooming of oh shoot this is happening no it’s like I think the the big one obviously is

[10:41] like in the delivery room and you finally see them and you’re like okay this is it it’s like H you’re live huh all right but I think throughout like we

[10:52] were very um like we had to go you know obviously for like ultrasounds and stuff like that lots of appointments so there was a constant sort of I guess

[11:02] observation of it and because we were very uh on top of that stuff it I think it allowed it to resonate with me quicker um so yeah it was sort of I

[11:14] don’t think the the sheer scope of what sort of change to my life it was going to be hit until like the change happens um but I think that’s what any new

[11:26] parent uh mom or dad uh first or second um it’s that sense of it’s a hard thing to foresee and you’ll have a lot of preconceived notions going into it’s

[11:36] like oh well you know we can just do it like this or do it like that and then baby says no and then you have to adapt um and I think that was sort of the one

[11:45] thing that like the idea of being a that and all that was it s getting pretty quick um but the scope on how that would change my life um that’s something that

[11:59] is honestly Ever Changing um but and I don’t mean that just in the sense of like growing pains but I mean like all the new things that are sort of coming

[12:08] to light as far as like possibilities and like oh wow yeah I guess we could play mix things in cups um it’s like oh you like doing this activity that’s kind

[12:20] of cool and like just seeing all like seeing their personality and and themselves sort of come into be um but that initial sort of like oh yeah we’re

[12:29] having a kid this is really happening I think it it hit me pretty much right when like my wife came out of the washroom and she had this look on her

[12:38] face and I’m like oh okay and I literally puts down the controller slowly I I had to sit down I just I had to sit down and just process it so like

[12:50] it pretty much when I got the news that’s when it hit me but it hit me like a Mac truck um but in like in a great way but it was definitely like this just

[12:59] full on cannonballs of the chest like that’s the news you’re dad now but that was uh it was it was like it was great news to have but it it did not hit Me

[13:10] Gently um so uh yeah I don’t think it was like a slowburn for me it yeah yeah as I recall back to the day I got the news it was even my my wife’s giggling

[13:21] in the background right now she remembers the look on my face of just like whoa okay wow all right this is this is it this is really okay okay I

[13:31] can sit down for for a little while drink myself yeah was it was 8 AM by the way like what did he where’ he get scotch in his hands off a sudden the

[13:43] good stuff yeah so so Jeff to turn it on you so they walk through the also like as a side afterwards I want to hear about the boy girl thing how that went

[13:53] down in your house but yeah what was it like when you had when you guys realized the second was coming yeah so it kind of really hit me a

[14:02] little bit further down the line because you you’re trying for the second one right so you know that in your mind it’s GNA happen one of these days it’s

[14:11] gonna it’s gonna go forward that’s it um but it really hit me when um we had to move rooms so my oldest had the bigger room and that’s where the crib only fits

[14:24] and the dresser and the change table and all that stuff so we had to move him into a smaller room and so Christmas time Santa brought him a big boy room

[14:33] where here is your new space and everything’s done like a bow like on the room and like he brought you a room basically yeah basically and it’s like

[14:43] uh cheap Christmas yeah you’re evicted get out you’re in this room now so Santa Claus gave him an eviction notice yeah basically served them with

[14:53] papers you’re like worst Tim Allen movie ever it could be grounds for a movie I like it it probably exists somewhere on yeah so that’s uh that’s kind of when

[15:05] it hit me because it um he was old enough to get in a kind of a big boy bed he was almost three like he’ll be almost three when uh my youngest was born so we

[15:15] gave him a a big boy bed that was low profile um his own dresser a couple paintings I did for him and he got a new room and then I walked into the other

[15:25] room like after the happy moment and he was having a in there and then I saw the crib again in in the baby room I was like I had a I had a pause I was like oh

[15:37] right we’re gonna do this again I gotta go and get diapers and get hit with like this like a like a n

[15:48] flashback oh man trenches that’s and seeing like like when I look at um Adrian now like the current sun is just like he’s come so

[15:59] are we’ve survived so much like this the six his first like six to eight months of just not sleeping and is not eating and just like the constant and now that

[16:10] it’s kind of smoothed out and we’ kind got though that could be good like you’ve gone through like maybe the like the bad experience because we were the

[16:19] reverse like our son slept like seven to seven no problem easy going the second one no way yeah your experience like yeah he’s

[16:30] up all night he’s crying he wasn’t napping so could be good second could be likeing I would say if you have to have a bad one having it first almost

[16:41] feels because because if you have the easy one first I think it just like set it up to say like like oh this baby thing is easy I’m not gonna yeah I have

[16:50] two or three more I don’t care this is so I just love the nonchalant reference of if you’re G to have the bad one yeah we’ll just keep on tap

[17:03] replay and pop out a couple more whatever just do it babies are so simple you are having one though right that’s confirmed yeah that was a that was a

[17:13] legit concern was it there’s a man there’s a lot of twins my um like in every single generation of both sides of our families there’s

[17:24] twins my brothers had twins my wife is a twin the you guys are playing with fire that’s dangerous it and then like there was

[17:35] certain things where like the way she was feeling around certain times which you know again you shouldn’t talk to people when you’re first being pregnant

[17:43] because like it’s like oh well you know that type of thing be you’re feeling this particular way because it might be twins you’re like oh God it might be we

[17:51] don’t know that it’s not wow man so Jeff walking through the um no actually I’ll throw this at Gavin

[18:00] first like the what was the boy girl thing for you like when you guys had it like I don’t know if there was if you kind of had a see again like

[18:10] how are you supposed to say it like you’re not you can’t say preference that’s not right it’s not fair we were totally expecting to have a boy just

[18:18] given like my family and our my side of like I I come from a family of all like for every one girl there’s like five boys you know just the

[18:30] ratio is really we have a tendency to like the McCarthy have a lot of boys um so we were anticipating that um but then when we we got the news that we were

[18:41] having a daughter um like it didn’t really sort of like shake a preference or anything um but it did sort of like change our what we were expecting um but

[18:53] that was pretty quick to adapt because I was like a lot of the things that I was like oh then I won’t be able to do this or we won’t be able to do this or that

[19:02] and I thought to myself what no of course you can like like when I was growing up I I had a best friend and uh she was just as good on a bike as me and

[19:11] she could climb a tree better than me and it’s like all the things like the tobogganing and all that stuff it’s like no it’s like doesn’t matter like the

[19:19] Legos and stuff like my wife played with Legos just as much as I played with Legos when I was a kid like it’s it’s I think a lot of those things um

[19:29] you know it’s like my wife knows how to fish um I I tell her that she’s better than that pool than I am um no she’s legitimately uh but Shea she had she had

[19:43] a grandfather and a grandmother that taught her like they they had Co table taught her really well um but yeah so it’s like one of those things where it’s

[19:50] like you start to think about I think what what a lot of people get hung up on is like well what can you what sort of relationship can you have

[19:58] with a daughter versus a son and I sort of came to the realization after hearing the news and I’m like yeah it’s just you just have you have a relationship with

[20:08] them and you just do stuff with them and you kind of let them take the lead in regards to what are they interested in um and you find the fun in that um so I

[20:17] think that wore off pretty quick as far as the being a son I don’t understand like a

[20:26] daughter parent relationship very well because I am not a daughter and this is my first time having a daughter so and I didn’t I didn’t have a sister either so

[20:36] it’s not like I got to see an example of that in my life um but then I just realized it’s like at the end of the day she’s a kid um you know she’s she’s our

[20:47] kid and that’s all that really matters um and just I think that’s when I started to realizing it’s like the the specific nature of all the other stuff

[20:57] is kind of irrelevant um you know she play whatever toys she wants to play with and do whatever activity she wants to do um and we’ll be

[21:06] there to do it with her uh I think that wore off that sort of preconceived notion pretty quick but yeah as far as genetics wise we were totally expecting

[21:14] to have a boy we got hit with a curveball we got the girl but I wouldn’t change it World here comes another McCarthy

[21:22] what the um yeah so what so especially from a second kid perspective especially that much like myself you already had a boy

[21:31] Jeff what was that like was there kind of a desire to have the difference that maging set yeah exactly um well for me no I wanted the same because I knew how

[21:42] to work the first one yeah right so like there do all the parts You’ read exactly like no we know what we’re getting into again let’s at least I’ve memorized the

[21:51] patterns yeah exactly up down AB start um yeah so I wanted just like you said matching set that’s great I know how what’s going to

[22:02] go on we got tons of clothes we can pass down it’s great I think my wife on the other hand wanted to experience the girl just as a

[22:12] uh something that gender wise she can relate to and it might be a little bit different than you know having penis and poop jokes all the time running to this

[22:22] household from all three of us so depends on the girl come yeah so I’m sure um there was a little bit of disappointment but again you you you

[22:33] adapt with what you get like it’s not it’s not like oh well that’s it like gonna hate this one I’m gonna hate this kid forever like it’s just uh it was

[22:41] something that I think it was just a missed opportunity there that turned out to be a boy and they are their own separate personalities anyway so it’s

[22:51] not like you get the same one twice so I think the um knowing the part that that definitely came about like knowing the parts and like we’ve gone through the

[23:01] boy and he’s gonna be different like absolutely but the [Music] same thing so you understand what a

[23:08] those those that kind of angle anyway so like at least there’s that familiarity as much familiarity as can be with a new kid yeah but um yeah what okay so what

[23:20] happened to your gaming life Jeff after the second one you’re starting to sweat you’re starting like uh

[23:28] no no but I’m definitely curious like do you what um because I think after the first one I think we we all have cataloged now our experience of it given

[23:39] new dad gaming but um it’s kind of got into a place now where there is a a sprinkling of video games in my life so post the second one like what am I

[23:50] staring at am I should I should I be banished from the podcast for like the first year or no you’re good you’re good so because your oldest one will grow up

[23:58] a little bit um almost faster because you’re like delegating more responsibility onto him you’ll find two-year-old watch the car let’s go

[24:06] basically start the car for Daddy warm the seats and plus I could see the oldest wanting to act older to sort of help make themselves feel um like unique

[24:19] compared to the sibling kind of like I’m the Old Pride in that yeah I hope so you will you’ll get it it’s I think it just happens either out jealousy or

[24:30] responsibility whatever they want to whatever path they’ll take but uh very Divergent you’ll get to I think you’ll start toag or

[24:42] Renegade it’s m effect ches great I’m my money on Renegade I’m just saying yeah the first one’s any indication if we’ll see what the sequel

[24:55] turns out it can only be one jeez I could imagine too with his strength and dexterity I’d be concerned if he doesn’t have that attachment but

[25:05] um yes so what was like your first uh let’s call it the first year of number two like what can you recall back to what your video game life was during

[25:13] that um it was it will move definitely to late nights you won’t get anytime stuff there’s no daytime anymore like that’s gone you’re luck so you’ll have a

[25:24] you know regular bedtime as per usual and then you can go and do your thing that will that will stay the same during the day when your son gets a little bit

[25:32] older um you might be able to introduce gaming with him as like you know an hour a week kind of thing if you wanted to do that I know my son was really interested

[25:40] in watching me play Mario Kart and then he you know drooled on the controller and started to pretend to play when it’s not plugged in but whatever he’ll get

[25:48] there but that’s your only gaming time would be at night for yourself during the day you’re kind of looking at uh running around chasing two now

[26:03] like during the day I I don’t like I really only game when she’s asleep like I never game when she’s awake um that’s just it like it’s because I can’t she is

[26:16] fast she’s so fast and she’s interested in getting into everything whether she should be into it or not um so if I’m holding like a glowing colorful p PS4

[26:28] controller my hand like I’m not going to be able to F no that’s GNA be gone and uh so yeah know like right now I know for myself I’m not sure for you Trevor

[26:38] but like I don’t if she’s awake it’s not on I’m not gaming that’s it like I it’s away I only play video games when my daughter is asleep and sometimes when

[26:49] the rest of my family is asleep um it’s just uh because it’s also too it’s like when you know you also have to keep that pocket of time to spend with

[27:00] like you know that person you decided to go on this adventure with you know so it’s like I want to have some time with my wife and not be us trying to

[27:10] intervene with our daughter’s self-destructive Tendencies of uh you know diving off furniture so but to have that moment where it’s like oh we can

[27:19] give each other attention now and actually have a conversation that doesn’t involve so what’s your name again yeah

[27:26] cool so no the no I’m exactly the same like that’s why like Jeff has mentioned on the show before he’s like oh you know so I was like in the afternoon there I

[27:34] was playing I’m like what are you talking about like what are you mental like no no you don’t you don’t do this why sir Shenanigans I call

[27:46] shenans stepping into a new world well they no it’s it’s defin my the only gaming time is certainly um when everyone else is asleep I mean this week

[27:57] was it was euphoric gaming 20 minutes because it it was it’s been an incredibly busy time at uh work so I’ve been working really late hours um

[28:07] studying a course like there’s just a lot on the go and just the Stars aligned I think it was it probably like Friday night where like I I’d set up

[28:17] everything really well for work um I’d studied my course um the kid was asleep welcome to New Dad no I’m kid everything had just absolutely

[28:26] aligned and I needed to go to bed because I was so tired from like a lack of sleep all week but it’s just like it you know I could 20 I can dive in just

[28:34] 20 just 20 minutes of game time and like I had a controller in my hands and like I started up the screen it was just like wow I remember these you’re gonna say

[28:45] you passed out like you’re just I was gonna say you got you got hit with an update notification yeah immedately like all work set on fire or the kid woke up

[28:54] no no it was um 20 minutes 20 minute session but know that I’ve had a more joyous 20 minute session in the last a couple years it was amazing um yeah

[29:06] another quick topic the non-gaming related how did um how did you guys come up with your names for the kids so I’ll preface it like the one the challenge we

[29:16] have is um giving my wife G your first gun I told you about this your first choice is gone your second no CU so we’re fight because we’re going to fight

[29:28] with it because of the um we it need to be Spanish and English and pronounced nicely in both names or sorry both both countries so give my wife’s Colombian

[29:38] Heritage we want to make sure it sounds great in both countries so you know something like Jeff for instance here is pronounced Hef he he he or James is

[29:51] Hames so like there’s a lot of there’s a name here called Herman that literally just to German so first name

[30:01] German a lot in the name of the podcast you should go with a gaming name just don’t tell your wife link I’m gonna name you

[30:10] Titus Titus there you go first name crash middle name Bandicoot ratchet Clank no the Gavin I don’t know I don’t know if we might be

[30:22] rehashing a story we’ve covered I don’t know if how did you guys come around to your name um we just sort of went through a we had

[30:31] a list narrowed it down and picked one we liked uh we went more for stuff that was like something that meant uh like had sort of like a a secondary meaning

[30:42] to it but also just sounded nice um and then yeah we just once we got a a name and a middle name just a nice combination that felt good we sort of

[30:53] went with that we started thinking about names even before we knew the gender um and just have got a short list down for whatever you know side of that fence it

[31:02] would call um but uh but yeah we ended up going I think one of the things that directed us was just the the meaning um behind her name just sort of uh felt

[31:15] good for us and it was also a name that when we did tell the very select few people uh because we didn’t want to tell a lot of people because a lot of times

[31:23] you’ll get people who are like oh I knew one of them in high school and they were mean to me and I don’t like that name you’re like okay I guess that’s not a

[31:30] good name then um no generally the name went over well but also if it didn’t go over well we didn’t care because we liked it so we just sort of went from

[31:39] there but yeah we didn’t have um a lot to juggle in regards to like making sure that phonetically it sounded well in multiple

[31:48] countries now the uh yes so je Jee I imagine I do remember a bit but you want to walk through that process of especially naming the second

[31:56] one so your best name is gone your best name’s gone so scratch that right but no what I what I approached as so your kid will always be known as the second best

[32:06] name yes different it’s different um I yelled it I yelled the name like I’m getting them in trouble see if that made sense to me like ah and then it couldn’t

[32:19] rhyme with my last name because I don’t want any uh rhyming business oh yeah there was that that thing too you had to like bet the school yard

[32:29] uh like there was that schoolyard proofing the name try to find something that didn’t rhyme too much with something else like you had to go see

[32:35] that Bart y y yeah so you couldn’t rhyme and it had to be kind of a good combo with my first child’s name so it couldn’t rhyme that

[32:47] way either or be completely different that it’s not part of a set yeah so like if they heard their names in like a roll call it’s like are you sure your

[32:56] brothers exactly it can be like Jeff and Rico or something like is that a previous marriage baby or yeah the uh so the cute

[33:07] thing I’d kind of thought would be if um I took his first name and middle name and just swapped them so that the second kid

[33:16] had yeah that’s a nice set and it’s just like they go really nicely together the other problem we have is the with my uh last name which best part is like I

[33:25] until College I never realized that my last last name was also a first name a first name yeah you don’t okay I’d studied Alexander the Great in high

[33:33] school and somehow it never clicked to that like Alexander is also a first name wow so so I’ve jokingly pitched that a number of times like look it’s just

[33:41] great Alexander Alexander like or Xander Xander Alexander oh see right doesn’t that sound like a terrible game character that sounds amazing like a

[33:50] final boss of some horrible Xander Alexander just shorten it the

[34:03] now Xander Alexander he liked to meander I don’t think that rhymes but be his middle name um jeez you’ll have you’ll have an

[34:15] issue with your Spanish SL English yeah no it’s going to be tricky yeah so so we’re going through a list like we’re naring it down but not no no

[34:28] particular Rush at the same time but it’s it’s kind of thing you want to get down packed at some point so you just have in the back of your mind so he’s

[34:36] not popping out in like I think one of my sisters didn’t have a name for the first like couple months oh you didn’t name before what about your first born

[34:43] did you name yeah we we had him locked down and it’s funny too because like when we when we named him it wasn’t um I don’t even call it not like first

[34:51] choice or it wasn’t like Dawning like light from the heaven came down like yes this is the name yeah as much more about like that one sounds pretty good and

[34:59] then just throughout the entire process it just kind of stuck around by the end of it’s like yeah I guess all right well that’s that’s the one we got it actually

[35:07] now that I’ve been thinking about it I just remember that we we kept our short list right up until the birth and it was sort of after we met her we had like a

[35:15] list of three and then like we were like okay yeah I know it’s this one and we sort of like when we saw her we just sort of like went with our gut as far as

[35:24] what of the three of our short list um like it was something that we had decided probably within five minutes of meeting her um but yeah it was it was

[35:35] definitely something where was like we we had some that were like yeah we’re happy with all these names all right now let’s just wait till we meet her and

[35:41] then yeah it was we sort of decided on the day um by just like yeah no she looks like that and that feels right and it feels like it fit so we’re going with

[35:50] that so yeah so you can you could even hold off just have a few that you’ve vetted to the multi or just Xander

[36:02] it becomes a verb oh man he Xander that one yeah an Alexander By Any Other Name no I think I think we’ll go with um A Boy

[36:12] Named

[36:17] Sue what’s Let’s see we could do what’s all the female boy names there’s like Kim I’ve heard

[36:28] Terry he can do anything anything Ashley’s a pretty common ash Ashley has a a male name yeah yeah never met a male

[36:39] Ashley the yeah so okay Ashley you seen walking dead right or not Walking Dead The Evil Dead yeah I have not wait Ash Ash from the Evil Dead Ash OH I’ve seen

[36:50] parts that’s add that to the list of I’ve seen enough clips that hav seen you haven’t seen Rock yet hasn’t seen a lot of things I haven’t seen a lot I forgot

[36:59] who I was talking to yeah can have a lot of late nights so I should probably just put together that list new dad game reviews or video reviews was everyone

[37:09] raving about this Rocky wasn’t that great Sylvester Sylvester I think in

[37:20] Spanish oh man that would be pretty hold on so ra yeah so if I Nam him if I Nam the new guy Rocky yeah like got Rocky and Adrian perfect yeah oh wow yeah

[37:30] there you go except except the Adrian is a in my case is a boy which is yeah whatever love interest in a movie and I’m introducing that between two sons so

[37:41] a little outside of nature’s laws but you know do you man I think people get the joke isn’t that hilarious like no it’s more wrong
