[0:03] [Applause] yeah we do have to remember was popular for not the best reasons though I know one reason yeah like it

[0:18] was popular because like it it flirted with a lot of taboo stuff that young kids were sort of like sheltered from and the vulgarity and stuff and it’s a

[0:32] lot of that a lot of mentality that I don’t think really flies today uh especially within certain media like it’s the same as certain movies that

[0:41] were popular back then if you were to redo them now like and subtract the thing that would not resonate with today’s audiences there’s nothing left

[0:52] in the movie like and I think the same thing goes with Duke is that uh you know there was the thing that was minus some of the

[1:03] other stuff that was there there was like some neat little environmental puzzles and stuff like that but for the most part though a lot of those were

[1:11] already being explored by other games so it’s it was the style in which it’s delivered but it was very crass and rude and vulgar um I think if they did that

[1:21] they would have to do it but they’d have to approach the vulgarity and that crass nature differently um like the way that uh

[1:30] oh um like Saints Rose series does it you know theirs is kind of on the same page in regards to that but but I don’t know if we’re gonna see

[1:42] Duke again anytime soon I think they have a VR there’s your one up yeah like you do realize like he came he was in a game like just recently let’s

[1:54] see um it was a shooter that they just remastered and one of the downloadable characters was was Duke Nukem yeah it

[2:01] was Bullet Storm Bullet Storm thank you he did it he’s back and that that game sort of had the same like you

[2:11] know crass humor and jokes but theirs was not to the I think dirty jokes in games and vulgar stuff in games has matured like

[2:23] it’s still there but the delivery of it is different and I think that’s where like the last Duke Nukem game fell flat is that it didn’t evolve with the rest

[2:32] of the dirty joke games um so like games like Bullet Storm or uh or Saints Row like these games that really do play to that same sort of catharsis they have

[2:47] been changing how they do it so that way it’s a it’s a more inclusive dirty joke you know it’s not just all the one side um it’s dirty jokes everybody can love

[2:59] and I don’t think Duke got the memo and he’s that he’s that Uncle that shows up and uses words that nobody’s used for like 15 years and it’s like oh oh uncle

[3:10] Stan you can’t say that man like don’t do that anymore so I want to keep rolling with this one second welcome to New dad gaming show about fatherhood

[3:19] gaming new father gaming live my name is Trevor and I have a two-year-old and another on the way my name’s Gavin I have a one and a halfy old and I’m Jeff

[3:30] I have a six-year-old and a four-year-old okay get that garbage out of the way there I so let me Pitch This and like

[3:37] like could they did you ever play conquer’s Bad Fur Day yeah that that was another one of those like dirty joke games I never played it but could you

[3:49] see that one being remade maybe yeah like didn’t they what one are they remaking now that they just oh Banjo Kazooie wasn’t it CR it was

[4:04] a okay banjo Kazi they just the the same court team kind of relaunched a new game called L something like that doesn’t quite count how like so how would you

[4:15] guys feel like so your kid comes home with today’s equivalent of conquer’s Bad Fur Day or um he’s Duke Nukem and and I think

[4:25] the reason we played those games is because our parents didn’t understand like exactly the content was of it uh but now you guys are you dads are in the

[4:34] know of these games like what would you do if your kid comes home with it it just flat barring it is it just don’t tell your mother what would

[4:43] you um well I think like we would understand the rating systems of the media it’s the same as like if if I you know if I came home when I was like

[4:56] eight with like a VHS copy of chopping Mall my parents would be like yeah maybe we’re not going to watch that tonight um you know it’s but I think like back then

[5:06] the media was so new they didn’t quite and even then like my parents knew about Duke and they knew about it and they were like yeah no maybe not um so like

[5:15] they they were at least Savvy enough about it and if they didn’t know they they knew people in our lives like cousins and stuff that they could ask

[5:22] that were young enough to get it but old enough to squeal um so yeah it’s also the graphics of it too right like at that point it was like eh it’s pixelated

[5:33] red colors and now it’s like SES yeah now it’s total realistic they could up the anti pretty quickly it’s not like gonna be stuff our

[5:44] kids are gonna find out and ask us questions about like we’re always GNA they’re gonna hear about it in schoolyards and stuff there’s always

[5:50] that one kid like you know we found that kid at school we we know there’s one kid yeah and yeah is the one that shows up where it’s like

[6:01] their parents don’t really monitor enough and uh they’re like they’re they’re The Well of knowledge of all the Forbidden Knowledge and they’re usually

[6:10] the ones that’ll send your kid home with like a what’s a whoa okay um ask your mother like I’m just trying to think like from it’s bizarre because at least

[6:22] for like in the broader world there’s so much uh extra stuff now that we’re going to have to deal with given the advanced and technology and the internet and just

[6:32] devices and a thousand devices to get onto the internet and trying to I I don’t like the word Shield necessarily but like just have proper course for

[6:41] introduction to any of those things I guess I guess what I’m curious about now is I’m thinking of like when we were coming up it was there was Duke Nukem

[6:48] there was Leisure Suit Larry there was yes that one right and it’s just I can’t I’m trying to think about the game landscape now and unless I’m just not

[6:58] attuned to filth like what’s when I as a kid I guess it’s just now you just but even with you know Gavin had a great event with Saints Row

[7:08] and I mean Auto was bad for it too right like it’s theirs is less humorous too like their’s is just straight up graphic um that’s 80 million copies floating out

[7:18] there or whatever they’ve sold yeah and some of the used copies have meth oh yeah a you guys catch that article today I did not oh somebody

[7:27] bought a a their 11-year-old son um a copy of Grand Theft Auto 5 and he was upset that there was meth in the copy of Grand Theft 5 that he bought for

[7:38] his 11-year-old son and nobody nobody nobody mentioned like wait a second you bought a very hard 18 plus game for your

[7:53] kid and then like you’re shocked that there’s a mature illicit substance in this thing that’s about ilicit

[8:04] substances like yeah look I want my kid taking drugs in games not in real life damn it on exactly I’m a good man yeah it’s like what this what’s this

[8:14] heroin doing in my drug simulator box like this Mak sense so um yeah I don’t know I think like the idea of um you know the

[8:28] landscape changing and stuff it’s the same as it always has been like even like Generations ago with print material like you had the comics code that had to

[8:36] kick into gear before that it was a wild west anything was fair game when it came to Comics publishing and what they could get away with and then the comics code

[8:45] had to get implemented and knock all that stuff back but like Tales from the Crypt and all that stuff was they were doing some really crazy I love that show

[8:52] yeah the comic it was based on like that was terrifying and gory and just taboo as I’ll get out and kids were eating it up and then a lot of very more Puritan

[9:04] ideals kicked in and a big censorship wave hit comic books and that’s when we sort of got the superheroes to come out um I think the same sort of thing

[9:13] happened with video games like when they were first coming out there wasn’t much of an ESRB and then now there is um so when something is new there’s that

[9:22] moment of like we don’t know really how to how to tag these things in regards to what is in them and then they figure it out so you know just like back you know

[9:33] when your parents used to sneak copies of Tales from the Crypt or you know Robert crumb Comics home like there was like that same sort of vibe it’s like

[9:42] what are my kids coming home with now it’s like you have a talk with them and you know uh I think it’s all just about trust with your kid too have an open

[9:49] dialogue and be like okay well I trust you not to go explor and with without with me you know stick to the past we know it’s same rules as if you went

[9:56] outside with your friends you can go to alone dangerous go exactly I just like I just like now that in this

[10:07] conversation right so I talked about how our parents to a certain extent didn’t know either through the rating system or either through what the media was what

[10:17] was the elcd stuff or what was like kind of the what we were hiding and playing to see stuff and now and and then out loud I say he’s like oh there doesn’t

[10:27] seem to be as much nowadays now is that true or do maybe I just have no clue and it’s like rampid yeah yeah probably no look at

[10:38] some of some of the if you look at some of the back corners of steam you will see that those things are alive and well and some of them are even more so

[10:48] genital josting that game yeah a lot of like crazy like there’s a lot of dating Sims on Steam um

[11:00] and a lot of other stuff on Steam in regards to relationships uh yeah I think in I think in the new release stuff there’s like a

[11:09] porn Studio tycoon game that just it’s like because I’ve been in the recent uh uh you know how do you know Gavin how do you know self

[11:19] promotion um I just launched another game last uh about a week or so ago um so I’ve been all over the new releases like seeing what were out

[11:30] against and that one was one of the ones where I’m like wow that’s a that’s uh that one’s coming up before ours great damn that is some stiff

[11:39] competition dadjoke and he’s back and he’s back um so yeah there there is there is a lot of stuff especially with steam like we

[11:49] don’t see it as much with consoles because consoles are harder to publish that sort of stuff on uh PC games are a little bit easier um for that like that

[12:01] the wild west still exists a little bit when it comes to PC gaming as opposed to consoles where it’s a little bit more manicured and groomed and bedded and you

[12:10] really have to a lot of people over a lot of oversight before it gets out where sometimes with PC release not as much

[12:19] oversight or if there is oversight it’s less um you know less filtered you know there’s uh

[12:28] like a local Toronto Indie developer um they released a game it was like a it was a dating relationship Sim uh won awards for narrative design like it was

[12:39] good uh but it’s very mature and it’s for mature audiences um so it’s all about just read those ratings folks you know

[12:49] and and when go Nintendo because Nintendo is pretty clean like that’s one of the ones where it’s like everything that hits Nintendo is like

[13:00] good it’s fine except actually the Wii um oh has the Dead overkill that was one that was just pure vulgarity and jokes and shooting zombie

[13:11] clowns uh Bloods and guts and everything like there was some pretty mature games or uh oh No More Heroes yeah I think that one maybe as

[13:23] well I think was coming out to them they were on uh that was on the Wii and there was l like some pretty pretty crass jokes in that one too they’re jokes a

[13:34] handful right like there’s not Nintendo’s and they have the parental controls too which I have gone on about before and they are awesome yeah you can

[13:44] lock it down it’s just uh educating yourself and your kids but also like having that system in place to know having that the you know

[13:55] the the the gatekeeper whether it be Nintendo as a system or whatnot like I think I would be more com as you said like let them have at the Nintendo

[14:03] system but you know when it comes to PC gaming maybe a little bit of hand hold might not hurt yeah don’t give him the keys to Ste

[14:12] steam yeah Derek Ali of steam so the um you know many of things a father might say to his son the uh you know

[14:25] don’t uh fine keep this game but don’t let your mother see and accordingly thought we might discuss uh some mothers in games I largely

[14:34] imagine because Mother’s Day is upon us the wonderful second half and like yeah just trying to think about mothers and The Narrative of motherhood in the video

[14:44] games and if you guys had any particular yeah like strong contenders of games or like really interesting moments that involved

[14:52] mothers within the video games or yeah anything else to call out to wonderful wonderful moms out there um well obviously the general shout out

[15:03] to the mums in my life um but you know they they hear that from me already so uh as far as mums and games the only real one that comes to

[15:17] mind immediately uh Silent Hill um oh yeah I didn’t think of that one in that game you are a mother looking for your lost daughter in a creepy town uh um but

[15:29] that’s really one of the only times i’ I can in like immediate memory think of playing as a protagonist who is a mother um it’s interesting yeah because like

[15:41] the the dad looking for the kid or protecting a kid like that’s geez like you could probably gfle off like 10 games that have that but

[15:51] being that’s I wonder if it’s because like that the mother to child relationship is almost more sacred some scen as more sacred as opposed to the

[16:00] father as a classic protector curious why that uh or if it’s just like the usual you know teenager focus group stuff where they don’t want

[16:08] to play as girls I think it’s it’s not even the focus group thing it’s just who they’re marketing to you’re marketing to a lot of boys so playing as a maternal

[16:17] figure is a hard cell um because like pregnant okay yeah unless lar Croft had a kid somewhere so yeah unless she she’s got a little one

[16:28] running around but yeah that’s sort of um because honestly like what’s more protective than like a mama bear like you know like that whole

[16:37] archetype um like mums are are extremely protective of their offspring especially in nature uh so yeah it’s kind of odd to

[16:48] think like especially even if you look at some of the other maternal archetypes in protective roles like you look at uh Ripley and aliens and like her sort of

[16:59] unofficially adopting n and how she became a protector for her um that that whole you know that end fight and it’s just like you know you get away from my

[17:08] Cub um like it’s it’s an intriguing um exploration but I think it’s one that hasn’t really been tapped into as much and I think maybe it could

[17:20] just be to who they’re trying to sell the games to but hopefully now that we’re seeing a more active not just like more women playing

[17:28] but just the fact that’s like hey yeah everybody likes playing everything it doesn’t matter as long as it’s good like Horizon zero Dawn and Tomb Raider so

[17:38] good Horizon zero Dawn yeah even recently prey like that one you can choose male or female uh they did a clever thing with the name because it’s

[17:48] the name’s Morgan so it’s nice non being kind of a gender neutral name uh they didn’t have to re-record all the voice over for so that was nice guess that’s

[18:01] um to that that that makes me think of followed four because in fact of course you choose your protaganist it’s either the male or female and if you’re female

[18:09] I chose I chose female so I that Fallout 4 is the other game I guess that I’ve played that I’ve played as a mother um you know uh in a role of trying to

[18:21] protect or find their their offspring um but that was due to Choice it wasn’t due to just full out writing but because that’s how the game was

[18:31] designed RPGs are designed for choice so at least that exists you know yeah I’m trying to think of any other ones like in Mass Effect or stuff

[18:40] but I don’t think Mass Effect have much know if you play you play fall Fallout 4 like I do you never find your kid just you’re still

[18:47] there I will say Witcher Witcher 3 my goto uh yennefer in there is not is kind of like the adopted mother to Siri the one you’re kind of trying to find as the

[19:00] father figure but she’s pretty badass um and kind of protects her like well like this daughter as a like this ultimate kind

[19:12] of woman scorn kind of thing go against the world she can blow up everything so it was kind of neat to see that too because you kind of wanted to play her

[19:21] in in the role too and wield those awesome powers but a lot of the times I found games where the mom would just be a device to set

[19:28] the other characters in motion so a lot of them would basically be dead dying or have died and that kind of sets the the motion of the story like I’m thinking

[19:38] like Nino couni which is an awesome uh game his mom dies at the beginning so it’s not really a spoiler if you haven’t played it but uh that kind of sets him

[19:47] on his journey um I’m even like mother brain and Metroid that was another one like that’s kind of a like evil controller of all the the the

[19:58] things I to get you and then um goova in Final Fantasy 7 where gonna mention damn yeah used as a device right like it’s all

[20:08] these was especially weird though it wasn’t just um it didn’t just happen and then everything out there just like a streem and like that the constant

[20:18] calling out to mother or our mother and espe if you follow any of the other lore like with the final fantasy movies that had come out

[20:27] afterwards the especially the Advent Children I don’t know if you guys have ever seen that one but like the entire time it’s just three other Bas basically

[20:35] seov jors saying like don’t hurt our mother our mother our mother and just the way in the game and in that movie the way they constantly bring it up is

[20:43] almost unsettling where it’s like that strange sad relationship between it so yeah and I was gonna I think Final Fantasy 7 for me was always the uh one

[20:54] of the big ones actually I mean man Final Fantasy uh 10 or was it nine nine final fantasy nine because the um the the mother there is overtaken by evil

[21:07] and in fact she’s trying to like extract e Edon from the kid so that the mother actually is like an adversary that you’re fighting against the entire time

[21:16] ends up being you know overtaken by evil and by the end of it you realize that but still yeah that kind of reminds me of um undertale uh I think you you fight

[21:27] this mother figure uh trying to leave basically the first level and you have to fight her and if you defeat her you go out and the game

[21:34] starts but she’s like trying to protect you from the evil that’s out there and that the evil that’s out there is the story that has to happen so it’s kind of

[21:42] an interesting she’s pleading you like you know don’t go don’t go and you have to fight her to get over that kind of

[21:49] narrative hump into the next SS kind of B heart-wrenching like the mother’s don’t go it’s not like you Slaughter her or anything but it’s more

[21:59] like okay well you’re strong enough to go so bye I guess single tier that sounds like like buning of Isaac like much to your other point oh yeah there

[22:09] you go yeah that’s a right that’s very much like the I mean not exactly a nice one to bring up no but again it’s it’s very much just like

[22:19] that impetus like it’s the event that causes like a lot of the game to go yeah which in that case shef a kid to a BAS

[22:29] which but last of us like the moms died in that one um which one last of us so the mother died during child birth and you’re kind of set in motion

[22:41] as protective father right so there’s not there’s a hard list to come up with that you actually play as that role what’s more

[22:51] positive I think like Dead Rising maybe the second one I think like you’re always the father and I think the second one there’s like a daughter and I

[23:01] think much the same thing like the mother had died we come up with a much happier list like a lot of these kind of

[23:10] showing yeah to see there’s a there’s a void there and I think there’s a lot of opportunity to explore aspects of that relationship

[23:21] just as much as I think also we haven’t really seen a lot of parental protagonists in games um that’s a relatively new thing as well even like

[23:32] Father figures and stuff like that like that’s just kind of starting to come around because I think the as the audience is maturing as the audience who

[23:39] started out with you know the Atari 2600 are now starting to have kids like they’re it’s easier to sort of say hey let’s explore this this aspect of life

[23:51] and you know ju suppose that with this setting or that setting or this narrative um so hopefully uh we start to see a few more mom roles coming in to to

[24:03] flesh out and have that that exploration and seeing these events unfold from the perspective of a mother or a father um but definitely right now as far as the

[24:14] batting averages go we need a few more in there um just saying it’ be good to see some more moms I’m really racking my brain for positive

[24:24] like it’s hard positive

[24:32] silence is telling man yeah oh that that’s the issue too is I think with it just goes back to also with women in video games and finding

[24:42] strong female roles that aren’t hypersexualized um because it’s hard to have that and then also maternal qualities um with double yeah it’s like

[24:55] you can’t have something be cartoonishly Hy sexualized uh um and then that also combined with

[25:05] like not saying that those things are exclusive but it’s a hard cell to have them combined in the same space um I’m not saying that they can’t exist uh

[25:14] together but in video games it’s really hard to have those things like it’d be really weird to have like Bayonetta in

[25:22] a like a guiding parental role through the course of the game like maybe if the kid is using as a plot device as like a goal or a motivation for the character

[25:31] yeah but you wouldn’t have like the whole Joel Ellie relationship in Bayonetta because it’s so bizarre but we don’t really have a lot of female Joel

[25:43] type characters uh we’re starting to get them um like we’re starting to see with like Horizon and you know uh Tomb Raider uh a lot of bows think anyways um it is

[25:56] it’s true hope it is it is so I guess maybe Laura C needs to uh have a little one um but no it’s it’s it’s intriguing uh

[26:08] I’d like to see more of it um but I’d like to see a lot more exploration in regards to female protagonists in general um but I also like to see more

[26:17] protagonists who are parents as well because I think that’s a fun thing to explore especially now that I’m a parent it resonates with me more playing last

[26:24] of us as a dad um had a completely different vibe than had I played it before I was a dead um and yeah even while I was playing

[26:34] Fallout the being a a husband of the mother of my child seeing their relationship and then when I decided who I want to play

[26:45] Fallout I was like oh be kind of cool to explore it as a mother daughter and went that route instead rather than just knee-jerk like I’m dude so I do dude

[26:54] dude dude and uh yeah but yeah it’ be good to see more of it because at the end of the day like you can read a book told from the perspective of a man or a

[27:04] woman it doesn’t matter you’re you’re in their shoes you’re you’re exploring the world through their eyes um it doesn’t have to be your eyes that’s the whole

[27:11] point of why you’re doing this thing is you’re experiencing Life Through The Eyes of someone else so let that if that person’s even further away from who you

[27:18] are in real life fine all the better like just you know I have zero connection with any of the three protagonists from Grand Theft

[27:30] I I think that’s probably also why I’m not in jail so you know you don’t always have to relate to enjoy that

[27:40] exploration the moms in that game are not very flattering either no in no way Michael’s

[27:49] wife yeah she was yeah man I’m still just I’m honestly just trying to Rack my brain for Sil Hill it’s like there’s a heroic

[28:02] character trying to do her best the dog that’s the really the only one I could think of in regards to it being a harrowing journey of a mother

[28:13] um and yeah so so that’s that I guess actually alien isolation come to think I thinking back to Ripley

[28:23] alien isolation it’s a you play as a daughter but your MO ation is finding it what happened to your mother um so like it wasn’t a matter of like oh the mom’s

[28:33] dead because the mom wasn’t she’s just lost in space um but it’s exploring that sort of their relationship but you’re exploring it from the daughter’s

[28:42] perspective but you still had that sense of that that bond between um you know a daughter trying to find the mother she never really knew

[28:51] because he left her so young um but knowing that there’s something out there drawing her out there um yeah my favorite my favorite mod I’ve

[29:03] heard about that game is just to remove the alien because the the atmosphere and the lore and just like the way they put

[29:10] together the levels and everything else are just so apparently so wonderful to experience yeah a lot of people almost found the alien like a inconvenience

[29:17] like H got just want to read this stuff like this is really fascinating I don’t want to deal with this thing yeah just remove yeah I don’t want to play alen no

[29:29] just turn it into a uh it’s like a a little you know Museum yeah or maybe gives you hugs hugs instead of kills gives you a big sloppy raspberry

[29:42] and runs

[29:47] away W wiie wet wiie the um yeah so jent’s actually to uh so kind of to reverse things um GNA give a quick summary of any games

[29:59] you did manage to play during the week and then we can wrap things up for me oh Jeff go ahead yeah for me it was dirt rally VR

[30:09] all oh yeah VR that is most amazing VR add-on that changes the gamepl entirely because the way that present I

[30:21] don’t know if you’ve played any of the dirt games but dirt rally specifically you have the co- driver and they’ve actually recorded him in one of those DB

[30:30] boxes so it shakes when you go over like Rocky ground within the course and it kind of goes in and out of smooth talking in your ear to he’s really going

[30:40] over a bumpy road and then you’re feeling in VR all these the crests and the slopes and the down and climbing Pikes Peak which is a huge mountain in a

[30:49] 500 horsepower rally car is just insane and they’ve definitely made shortcuts um like if you look outside your car like the back end doesn’t exist so like you

[31:01] have to be in your car but all all the mirrors work the co- drivers they animated your feet are animated you see the guy switch gears as a it’s just an

[31:11] insane experience and I went from playing like the regular way on the flat screen and losing to being in VR and winning so like Podium and it was just

[31:22] you could feel the crests and in and out and when to turn when the tires were slipping like it was all like feedback so now I just need to keep the VR and

[31:34] get a wheel and I’ll be set I think the um there’s something about VR that um it just makes driving so much more natural

[31:44] compared to the flat screen like the ability to like look I don’t even find like you know when I when I did it I don’t know if you find the same thing

[31:50] Jeff is like I don’t constantly look at my left to the window like I find I’m very much still kind of looking ahead yeah but yeah yet that slight ability to

[31:59] kind of move your eyes or see things yeah is so much more natural than like a flat screen what really screwed me up just quickly in uh dirt rally you can

[32:07] drive obviously Japanese cars or a British car which drive on the other side that almost made me sick because it’s just the way the motion is

[32:16] happening it’s like whoa I am not used to doing this especially at this speed and my brain had to get around it a little bit but uh that was kind of

[32:24] jarring but it was interesting it was just a completely different experience of what the game would be without it so that was my week dirt rally VR nice

[32:36] highly recommend gav yourself working my way through un 4 um also finished off Titanfall uh played the prey demo uh which was a lot of fun I’m definitely

[32:50] curious about looking at getting the whole game uh but that I might wait a little bit because I just don’t there’s it’ll just sit on my shelf so might as

[32:59] well sit on the Shelf at the store um and uh oh what else uh song of the deep I’ve been playing a bit of that PC um that’s been quite enjoyable a

[33:10] little bit of the Metroid Vania feel to it um trying to think if there was anything else that uh yeah that’s that’s about it um um take take a moment on

[33:21] self-promote like tell us about the uh I’ve seen a been playing this called shoot shoot mega pack um it’s out now for that sounds amazing really fun it’s

[33:30] where can I find this game you can find it on Steam it’s also available in the humble store and it um so so yeah the game is basically a uh uh

[33:43] local multiplayer game uh so it’s you and some friends hanging out uh up to four players and the whole idea is it’s a it’s a nice mixed bag of different

[33:53] rules and and environments and ways of interacting with one another but the main core thing is your little tiny triangular spaceships you’re flying

[34:02] around you’re shooting at each other um there’s all sorts of other things you can throw into the mix to kind of switch it up um endless combinations you can

[34:10] unlock the ability to create custom games so if you and your friends really like a certain combination of rules you can save those as a custom game uh

[34:19] there’s also a party mode which Cycles through all your custom games along with the preset games and then there’s also a chaos mode which just jumbles together a

[34:29] bunch of random rules and you got to figure out what on Earth is going on um and yeah uh so far has been getting really solid reviews uh very very

[34:37] positive feedback anybody who’s uh gotten a hold of it has been enjoying it uh it’s been a little bit of a quiet um start till the launch but uh we’re also

[34:47] looking for it to be a little bit more uh well received when we start looking at like console ports and stuff like that um especially being a local

[34:56] multiplayer game sometimes people on PCS just don’t have the setup for it um it’s hard to kind of get your friends gathered around your your computer um as

[35:04] it is get them gathered on your TV so uh yeah but all in all it’s a fun game I highly recommend checking it out it’s definitely kid-friendly uh which is a

[35:13] bonus so uh and the name one more time shoot shoot mega pack shoot shoot mega pack mega

[35:23] pack there you got a theme song it’s done done done done so yeah uh that’s uh that’s the game it’s pretty cool um we

[35:33] should try to uh get some folks playing it sometime uh maybe do a stream or something family there it is Jeff you get you set up and uh all four of your

[35:45] family members can play at the same time yeah totally perfect mega pack love it me pack yeah so the uh so my own side

[35:56] unfortunately the um work has been just um keep yeah I know but um so so just Absol it’s been Absol a boners with work and there’s

[36:08] been a lot a lot of hours to put in so not very much for anything but there has been uh one game I’ve been able to visit a few times and it’s an old

[36:18] friend um it’s almost embarrassing they go back to it you’re not saying Street Fighter what’s that you’re not saying Street Fighter Street Fighter

[36:32] okay I I actually played a couple rounds of hearthstone oh oh you’re back there e that far

[36:42] back so if you’re ever on YouTube fan of hearthstone or not there’s a YouTube personality who used to be a Starcraft 2 player and um what do you call it

[36:56] announcer and grew a big fan base because of it and well so a guy named Day N where say handle even if you don’t like

[37:05] Hearthstone to watch this guy play it is just beyond entertaining like it’s he is wellp spoken very funny very quick and he’s the way he’s interacting with

[37:16] everything like it’s just a blast to watch him go and uh so one of his videos came up on the feed I saw him playing it they just launched a whole new expansion

[37:27] so it’s like hey everybody gets uh two of them actually like here’s a new expansion everybody gets three packs and hey we have 70 million players everybody

[37:35] gets three packs I like okay so so much like a casino sitting there with like just throwing a couple chips out front to get you in the door I H partake and

[37:46] uh yeah man it is a lot of fun like I kind of forgotten about it and especially just the um it has the same kind of dad prom because like there’s

[37:55] such it’s online you’re be you’re competing against somebody so if you get called out for a dad situation like you just have to Forfeit you have to

[38:04] lose but the like a game is like eight minutes and like you just get to like it triggers a bunch of like thinking in your brain about strategy and how to do

[38:15] it and you’re in the design and animations everything is so fun eight minutes in and out and then like maybe just do one match maybe do two and then

[38:23] you’re done but between all that like yeah uh I I don’t know how long this fascination with it will commence we’ll find out

[38:33] looks like looks like I’m dropping my Street Fighter lading gos and going back to going back to your old addiction I get it at least in some ways this

[38:41] someone El feels better because it’s at least it’s more of a thinking than it is reactionary which reactionaries feel like a bit of a young man’s game or a a

[38:48] lot more dedication than I’m willing to this one’s kind of like some just basic strategy yeah it’s like the video game form of playing checkers at the park

[38:56] yeah there we go much better yeah opposed to a pull-up competition any that was been about it so we’ll um work uh for foreseeable

[39:07] future does look to be quite stacked but uh kind see what new stuff comes out Sho shoot mega pack of her is a fantastic so I’m probably gonna buy that really good

[39:16] it really really is good yeah I think we should probably do a new Dead stream at some point that’s that’s the end of it that’s
