Episode 68: A Dad’s E3 Wishes | New Dad Gaming

[0:03] [Applause] the adult beverages are poor the kids are asleep welcome to New dad gaming a show about fatherhood gaming and new

[0:14] fathers figuring out their gaming lives my name is Trevor and I have a two-year-old and another on the way my name is Gavin I have a one and a halfy

[0:23] old and I’m Jeff I have a six-year-old and a four-year-old at the uh at the park today I was almost hoping someone to ask

[0:29] me as a because he’s now like officially officially two how old you one two just one two bam it’s a solid number or out you only have a short window for that

[0:41] and then you got to start being like the in a bit two and a bit two and a bit two and a half almost three three 16 and a half

[0:53] 16 and a quarter however far we go by 16 you’re like he’s like you know uh T minus two years to

[1:04] departure kitchen just has this like count countdown clock like every single day just he D only be 17 then oops well I

[1:12] bought the clock I can’t return it so says no buddy you gotta go yeah that’s it oh son I don’t think the clock is wrong yeah it’s pretty

[1:23] official uh jent how was your week in fatherhood and gaming um mine was was good uh fatherhood was solid it was good week

[1:33] with the little one and she’s cutting a couple new teeth so a little bit of fussy here and there but uh we’re able to sort of deal with it uh quite well um

[1:42] and yeah know she’s uh starting to develop more words now which is great um but it’s also like it’s kind of weird because it’s like she’s starting to

[1:52] communicate things more verbally um and uh and oh and this week she has fallen in love with Moana um uh we put that have in the background

[2:03] bit and now she just loves it and it’s specifically Moana because we put on Frozen today and then she just kept saying Wana Wana Wana and it’s like okay

[2:12] you want Moana all right and uh so yeah no she’s doing well you know cutting teeth learning words running around being a kid um yeah all

[2:21] in all having some good times with her and uh this month coming up things are going to kind of be quieting down a little bit work-wise so I’m going to be

[2:29] able to get a few more days a week just you know hanging out with the family which was good uh kind of it coincided well with the summer

[2:37] just like a quiet part in my in my scheduling so it’s like I’m just season the day kind of thing it’s like okay I got it I’ll do it um and then as far as

[2:47] gaming goes um I’ve been working my way through uh I’ve been playing at the same time like simultaneously I’ve been working my

[2:56] way through Darksiders the original um and God of War 3 and I keep going back to Darksiders because really darkers is really good it is really good

[3:07] I picked it up on Steam for like five bucks or something a few years ago it’s just one of those games that been sitting in the back of my library for a

[3:13] while and I decided last week or or so to be like I’ll give it a shot I’ll install it see what it’s like and I’m really digging it like it’s really

[3:22] really just is fun uh Power Trip just pure aggression um but it also has a certain aesthetic charm to it as well like everything’s very exaggerated it

[3:34] just oozes with style all the time and uh yeah I’ve been really taking it like it’s it’s not exactly a spring chicken by any means this game’s been around a

[3:41] while but it’s holding up well uh on the PC I’m able to get it like the full 1080P and it’s running beautifully just because like I’m running a 1080p game

[3:50] from you know a long way back so yeah it’s uh I’ve been really enjoying it I everything about it has been satisfying like the enemies and the strategies you

[4:02] have to use and the puzzles you have to solve um I highly recommend it anybody who sort of likes a Metroid Vania combined with sort of a third person uh

[4:12] combat mechanic action-y sort of deal uh I highly recommend it it’s really fun the Rhythm in the combat is great uh it just feels good to smash things and

[4:21] swing the giant ridiculously cartoonish big weapons around um so yeah those are two very aggressive games two very aggressive games um you

[4:33] antidote to Dad rage I suppose um but yeah finally God of War I played the other two they’re I enjoyed them on the PS2 but uh I never got a chance to play

[4:43] the third one so I’m like give it a shot and uh yeah I I don’t know um I think yeah I think also too like before these games I was playing no man’s sky and I

[4:55] was just kind of like okay I need I need some good thsis I need something that’s a nice smashy smash time Comm Z time to like murder some demons meditation over

[5:06] now time to time to get to work and uh so yeah playing those and I got my eyes on a few other games that uh I’d like to check out um I’m actually contemplating

[5:16] upgrading my PC um because it’s been nice to be doing some PC gaming again and I think you know Chuck in a new video card see where it takes me you

[5:28] know at least upgrade that will get me to on par with what the current like console Generations are pushing um that way I can sort of

[5:37] experience I have I have an additional option like it’s I can get for the PlayStation or I can get for the PC or right now some of the newer ones mine’s

[5:45] just on the cusp of being able to run it it’s like yeah I don’t know if I really want to take that chance and have it not really gel well with my card and then

[5:53] you know it’s not like the PS4 where you just put the disc in or you just download it and go so uh yeah get my P a little bit more muscle and give me a

[6:01] little bit more it also allots me a little bit more gaming time too because you know my wife is watching something I don’t care to partake in uh I can sit at

[6:10] the PC and we’re still like in the same room and with an earshot to have a conversation but I can putter away on one thing she can do the other I could

[6:18] get a switch but UPG video card in my steam Library will easily accommodate it so yeah that’s put it I get it Witcher 3 4K I get it

[6:30] yeah I know on my wish list sale recently was like 40% off like it just it really keeps plummeting which

[6:40] oh yeah I think it just depends on like you have to decide at the beginning of the year okay this is the year I’ll lose to this game for

[6:49] $20 the there’s some good things coming down the pipe and it’s like oh do I commit to Wier you know or like in your case Trevor it’s like do you have time

[6:59] to get in before the yeah no no do not Aid that’s a uh that’s

[7:10] a baby friend the game right I’ll just have the the new Wii one up on my neck and sit there and get to explain unicorns to her and everything it’s

[7:19] great yeah Jeff knows what I’m talking about yeah that’s quite a scene I that scene made the internet so yeah think anyone has ever even heard of

[7:29] Witcher that’s the type of SC that defin like she’s like you’re just getting that game because you wantan to like no that’s not why that’s not it totally why

[7:39] it’s just the one scene that you know your wife walks in on you’re like oh come on i’ been playing this for 40 hours come on Cherry on the cake it’s

[7:47] still cake you know like there’s still cake there yes there’s a cherry on it but there’s still cake there Kate yeah I’m getting disapproving uh froming in

[7:57] the room so watch the next scene oh come on that’s another one I swear there’s a griffin somewhere don’t worry about it I guarantee you like anytime she walks in

[8:05] on me playing it’s always going to be one of those scenes too it’s never goingon to be like me just like you know playing cards in a Tavern or slaying a

[8:12] monster or just like managing my inventory I guarantee you every single time she’s like what you playing and it’s like

[8:19] ah no it’s not what you think oh the uh Jeff yourself how was your week um pretty good in terms of uh parenting um summer is almost upon us so

[8:35] we were doing some slug catching catch some slugs uh boys went out in the backyard found them all uh it was pretty gross was

[8:44] awesome so different so different from Pokemon yeah exactly very fast the battles are a little bit slower but all that’s what I told them you could have a

[8:53] slug race they didn’t buy it so they went around trying to feed them with other leaves I’m pretty sure they suffocated them somewhere feeding them

[9:02] with like salty potato chips here you go um so we did a lot of stuff outside this weekend uh and this week um my oldest um went back to skateboard so

[9:15] he’s got the hang of that pretty well so it’s kind of cool to see um and my youngest is up on a bike almost so he’ll get his kind of training wheels going

[9:25] and see if those come off this summer um that’s that’s the goal so that they can both be like self-sufficient that way so that’d be nice you can do my parents did

[9:35] just skip the training wheels and push me down a grass it’s really close to pretty sure Canadian Tires sells like

[9:43] one of those big hooks that you just kind of hook on the back and that’s that’s just for leverage for you to shove them just there you go learn it’s

[9:51] great um in terms of gaming um not too much still on Chrono Trigger on iOS um I’m somehow for some reason addicted to it I don’t

[10:01] know if it’s the old Nostalgia talking the pixel art or just the ease of use like I can just pick it up anywhere so um I’ve been rocking that for a while

[10:11] and then Horizon zero Dawn I’m still on I gotta finish that before I gets ruined there’s too many spoilers on the internet and I always click on like oh

[10:19] here’s cool Horizon da behind the scenes things I’m like why did I why’ I click that I shouldn’t have shouldn’t have done that so 2016 was Witcher and 20 17

[10:30] yeah they should be a lot shorter but it’s just VR came into my life and distracted me and that brief love affair and just took

[10:39] you away from your responsibilities to go dinosaurs so but that that was about it that was it for me for you Trev yeah

[10:49] nice the um yeah pretty straightforward week I think um again we’ve been reaping the benefits of his scheduling so he’s thankfully still on good sleep doesn’t

[11:02] need a damn thing but he he at least goes to bed on time and with the you know you every day like you kind of just expect it to end

[11:11] like where it’s like okay now he’s gonna just like flip like and not be able to do it and the I don’t know what is about some people and babies we had

[11:25] a I know is this is going I know some people and babies what’s the deal with some people in babies thinking of a lousy Jerry SFI no

[11:38] no so the uh he’s not overly shy but he does take some getting warm to people and my folks had come by and he wasn’t it’s

[11:48] kind of almost sad how uninterested he was in my mom so his grandma uh they definitely had some good time which was wonderful and they’ll get closer but

[11:56] friends of ours came over later that evening and for the uh the the girl that was with him like he just immediately like

[12:05] he he he walked out to greet them at the door and asked for her hand and for the rest of the evening it was just Inseparable like it was unbelievable how

[12:15] close he was for like and it just seems like there’s been a few people that you notice where all of a sudden like they just have this Knack with kids like kids

[12:23] just want it’s like oh you You’re great perfect just there’s just no barriers even if so even it’s a shy kid or anything else and like we’ve had a few

[12:32] people come through I don’t know if either you guys have had that experience where it it generally stand offish all of a sudden but with this person yeah

[12:40] they’re just like all guns hell it’s perfect I I’m actually I have a confession to make I think I’m I might be that person oh because when I take my

[12:51] daughter to the play center for this like sort of like uh music gym class thing where they just you know shake Maracas and run around and fun um like

[13:00] all the other kids there just all sort of gravitate towards me um and I don’t know why but it’s just yeah it’s it’s weird and it seems to be escalating like

[13:11] more and more before it was like one or yeah one or two kids would come over but it was like you know it’s like oh you look a lot like their dad it’s like oh

[13:20] yeah that makes sense then you know they’re confused but now it’s just like there was this one little baby and she was like I barely seen her do much of

[13:28] anything for a week and then like last week she’s like running over and playing peekaboo and stuff and I’m just like whoa just like

[13:34] came into your shell at like mock 7 this is insane and uh and then all other kids too like I actually had on last week I had kids jockeying for my

[13:45] attention like one would queue up and then like want my attention and then another kid would like butt in front of them like no I want your attention like

[13:53] e guys yeah que up one at a time I’m not that interesting five bucks for a five bucks for a go around come on yeah

[14:03] exactly but so yeah no I can I can relate it’s weird like there’s sort of like it’s like those people who are like great with dogs and it doesn’t matter

[14:10] where they go or what dog it could be like the nastiest dog ever and they just enter the room the dogs on the back just like wagging his tail and rub my belly

[14:17] it’s like bit the last five people and now you’re rolling around like rub my belly what’s going on with this person it’s like some weird pheromone or

[14:26] something I can relate to that that was great but yeah I’m already on the same boat as you there G just all of a sudden there’s a lot more words coming out and

[14:34] like yeah connects a few like he’s it’s surprises sometimes just like he like oh that’s an apple like apple like never heard that they they just keep new ones

[14:43] keep showing up out of nowhere that like I especially when I haven’t particularly been trying to teach that one or the only and there ones too that are

[14:51] close but not quite close so you just disregarded it as Babble but then you realize like no that’s connected to something like that’s actually they mean

[14:58] that as as a word they’re just missing a couple letters in the word and form something else um but then you’re like oh you’re you’re actually making sense

[15:07] now I just wasn’t I was just like yeah you’re just making sounds it’s like no they’re making noises you don’t know what you’re

[15:14] talking about baby baby the that’s kind of sad is like we’ve uh sometimes you’ll say something in Spanish so like queso for

[15:24] cheese and then he’ll dip oh my God it sounds good right now continue that he switches it to the English oh so like some ways English is

[15:34] starting to take over so you’ll be like you know K ques or k queso do you want cheese he’s like cheese like no no say say the Spanish like don’t lose the

[15:46] Spanish because believe me when you get this old it is actually impossible to possibly learn a new language as as far as I’ve seen but um yeah so great

[15:57] otherwise so the words in front and everything else uh gaming not a damn thing not not nothing to be seen not didn’t touch it didn’t touch the

[16:08] stuff just incredibly busy otherwise and we have a guests otherwise that uh kind of prevent some access to some of the systems but um so just not nothing to

[16:17] speak of there but you know where there is a lot of games E3 good transition look at that pretty smooth wow buttery that was that was good

[16:30] good so look look at all these games I’ll never get to play a Showcase of them yay one each better than the last none of which I’ll

[16:39] touch but um yeah E3 is upon us so this is going to be the Big Show I mean it’s it’s kind of curious to see kind of the fading yet the fading

[16:50] relevance of it and yet every year it still seems to draw like so much attention I I don’t know if like the fading relevance is more of the

[16:57] conversation online where pundits are trying to state that but ultimately like it’s still a really huge deal but

[17:04] um yeah like here it is like so the thought was for table around for the dads was a prediction for E3 something that will come out and a hope or a wish

[17:16] for something we’ll see during E3 so uh Jeff why don’t we start with you what is a prediction and what is a wish okay E3 prediction 2017 an easy one Scorpio

[17:31] revealed with the name launch date price uh and we’ll see where the price lands but I’m I’m thinking it’s like they’ve got to go4 449 around that area

[17:43] us n that low us us so it’s like 600 Canadian oh okay us right right so that’s sweet currency okay no way but they have to compete right like so PS4

[17:55] Pros out there and people are kind of they’re they’re second place right now so they need to gain those users back so I’m thinking

[18:03] they’ll they’ll have hopefully the name’s not too crazy I think they’ll change it from Scorpio they will I’m sure they will but

[18:13] we’ll see prediction they changed the name weird nickname for Xbox one before it got announced like it had a weird code name or something yeah I don’t know

[18:22] like love like cod name not Cod name kind of things though I don’t know the recognition is there it be kind of cool

[18:30] to keep it and go a different route instead of Xbox One Elite or Pro or something Xbox 2 would be silly or like Xbox 362 it’ll be something above Pro

[18:44] right if they do the pro thing it’ll be like Elite or platinum or something but like Xbox One Platinum Xbox INF boom

[18:59] made fun of listen if it’s that I’m gonna be sending an invoice to Microsoft that’s a prediction right there God so that is my prediction I

[19:11] think that’s an easy one I think it’s definitely gonna happen it has to happen so it’ll be revealed launch date price everything um my wish which won’t happen

[19:21] ever is the ff7 the Final Fantasy 7 remake is at least the first episode by the end of this year it won’t Happ happen there’s no way it’ll

[19:30] happen so yeah there there’s been footage of it already like like the fight system fake it’s all fake they was on a PC it was a built skit they just

[19:39] hired development and brought it in house just did that because namura is a Looney Tune you can’t get anything done anyway they won’t get it done

[19:51] that’s my wish though that it has at least because they’re doing an episodic release of it as at least I think that’s still the plan would you buy the episode

[19:59] like you didn’t doesn’t it just doesn’t it just burn you like the thought that like you’re going to play through it and like and the wor you know the story so

[20:06] you know how much further you have to go I know but you know it’s childhood calling me at that point it’s like yeah you don’t want this you kind of

[20:15] do and I know I shouldn’t buy it because it is just it’s gouging you for something that I’ve already played a ton of times I own a practically every

[20:23] system that it’s available on and somehow a remaster of It kind of brought that all back I was like oh okay let’s see what it does I don’t see it as a g

[20:32] it’s like they’re responding to Market forces in the sense that there’s enough of us that would pay for it it’ be great I what kills me is like the episodic in

[20:40] the sense that you can’t play through it and especially for a story that you already know in a game you’ve played a bunch of times like yeah okay I want to

[20:48] see how they treat it this time and it’ll be fun to go through that story again but being able to play it in a different way that sounds interesting

[20:56] but like you’re gonna stop me like you get as far as the city collapsing and then you have to wait a year for the next it’s just that’s

[21:05] something that just well on how they’re releasing the episodes too like if you look at something like Hitman um the new Hitman game was episodic and it did

[21:13] quite well but they released them at a decent interval yeah as Telltale like they released at a decent interval so if you’re the type of person who likes to

[21:21] sit and just rip through it um it’s just going to require a bit of patience and luckily too with a game like that you already know how it’s gonna end so you

[21:30] don’t have to worry about spoilers or anything like that you just sit back and wait maybe um it’s just more I that will power that it takes no you’re on point

[21:39] because I mean like from a dad Pace there’s no chance you’re getting through the first like the first episode by the time the second one shows up I guess

[21:47] that’s true yeah see unless they’ve streamlined it and then you’re screwed and like well now I gota wait for eight months NE oh crap yeah that’s my wish

[21:56] though it won’t happen but wish not too shabby Gavin yourself what do you got what do you got for a wish and a prediction um well wish I’ll start with

[22:07] a prediction um but it’s also kind of based a bit on rumors all my stuff’s based on rumors because I’m just not

[22:13] going to pick something out of The Ether um there was one kicking around that um Elite dangerous might be making its way over to consoles um I’m thinking it may

[22:23] very well and I wouldn’t be shocked if it was coming up for PlayStation take advantage of the VR as well um so soop sorry I’ll stop you there it’s on Xbox

[22:33] currently it and it’s already been confirmed for PS4 oh well then there there go that’s an easy

[22:43] win the the VR thing is I want that so bad that would be so amazing like that game especially like the depth it would represent by far and I’m talking order

[22:55] of magnitudes like by a 100 times the deepest experience you could possibly have in VR with psvr now I’m thinking of something else

[23:04] though because like I I remember reading about a game supposed to come and it’s like it wasn’t out yet and that and then yeah I guess it wasn’t a dangerous

[23:16] because I wasn’t paying attention and yeah now now that I remember I am totally wrong in my assumptions so I am gonna get back that I do know isn’t it

[23:26] because I would have it already is there’s rumors of a new Wolfenstein coming out and I will be all over that because I really enjoy the other one um

[23:36] I like good uh a good forward momentum shooter like something that’s just you know uh just I I like aggressive games apparently I was about to say like just

[23:48] tearing through violence there that’s why I’m such a chill peaceful guy get it all out just there done um but yeah I think um I think this

[24:00] E3 will probably be like my prediction in regards to just it and scope I think this E3 is gonna what we’re seeing is is a dilution

[24:11] of hype I guess is a way of saying it is um a few years back E3 was like the the only real game in town kind of thing in regards to an annual exhibition of

[24:21] things coming out um but now that we have like packs and stuff going on um there’s other events that that and even ComicCon 2 is really taken to game

[24:32] industry release notes we’re seeing E3 shouldering less of that burden for the hype um so I think there’s there are some

[24:42] announcements here and there that will be reserved specifically for E3 but I think uh it’s less crucial that they use that as their launching pad because

[24:52] other ones for developers have proven more successful in regards to just marketing pitch and stuff like that because also too like E3 it was a

[25:00] basically just a room full of people shouting and then it’s like hey well we’re going to go to this other room a few months from now where there less

[25:06] people shouting and then maybe we’ll be heard and then that’s I think we’re starting to see things leveling out um I’d also like to see some stuff about

[25:15] Red Dead um I’m totally cool with the delay like I’m fine game make it good I’ll wait it’s not like I got a lot of like I need to play now I got nothing to

[25:25] do I got plenty to do so I’m good um but but I’m I’m thinking there might be a bit of at least I would think like from Rockstar’s perspective to kind of

[25:35] counteract the negative hype of the delay that they would show uh a more substantial chunk um this coming E3 because I think that would be a kind of

[25:46] a nice little almost like a peace offering um to folks you know and they probably have enough of a what have you been doing for the last

[25:56] like six years like what have you been doing there’s nothing else from you so it better be good I’m I’m confident they’re they’re

[26:05] usually yeah it’ll be good um and yeah there’s you know a handful of games here and there but uh I think for the most part yeah and I’ll try to remember what

[26:14] on Earth I was thinking of that was rumored to becoming a consoles that was a PC only but apparently I don’t know what

[26:21] I’m talking about so Trevor I’ll let you take because obviously you did your no just elad dangers of course like just has a place in my heart and I’ll

[26:30] say like so I haven’t been able to really touch any games these last weeks but I keep definitely getting drawn like I really want to play I uncovered like a

[26:39] steering set that I had or like a not steering set a um joystick okay FL controls like yeah well the one that I have is like it’s got

[26:50] like two like one is like the stick and the other one’s like the um kind like the thrust that you would have for a space craft and I came across that and

[26:58] just thinking like oh it’ be nice to like play Elite but it’s especially hard because it’s just like you it is the vastness of space and you will throw an

[27:07] hour into it and nothing will come of it yeah sounds perfect but um so but Gavin you saying that actually kind of um coincides really nicely with what I

[27:20] would it’s be kind of a prediction for myself and that I think that PlayStation’s going to have a killer like one of an incredibly killer

[27:31] game for the VR headset where you know they had some really big launches with um Resident Evil of course Faro a recent game that they released has done

[27:41] incredibly well been well received um but they had a massive quarter I think they in the first well not depends on like on your numbers I think they sold

[27:50] 400,000 new units in the first quarter so far so the which is more than previously so it it continues to pretty well so I’m curious about if they for

[28:01] this one is going to be that killer game like I I don’t know if I I don’t think it’ even be um Gran Turismo which I know is a the VR title for them oh right yeah

[28:13] but it wouldn’t even kill it count that as a killer because that’s like known like everyone just knows that that game’s gonna come out and fine it’s a

[28:18] driving game they have like two or three of those at this point maybe that dreams one what about that dreams we haven’t heard much of that you know the Little

[28:25] Big Planet creators yeah people yeah that might be it’s not a killer one but that’s kind of cool I don’t certainly be cool I don’t think it’s going to be the

[28:33] killer now Elite dangerous though like if you were able to put on that headset and all like the smooth benefits that thing has and then just have access to

[28:43] that world nothing at all is that has that much depth with psvr like you you can do RAC tracks like go around the same Circle and everything but they have

[28:52] something of that many choices and classes and like ships and like like they it the gameplay would be so in depth it would be just an absolute

[29:03] killer and for sure it’s coming right sorry said the game is coming whether or not it gets VR support but it would feel to me this would be a real opportune

[29:12] time for them to launch something that is like this is the killer thing so far for psvr so almost it almost turns into a bit of

[29:21] a wish too given like given the fact that I have one of the damn things Wolstein VR hard to you got the gun they just

[29:31] released peripheral all right yeah be all set I think the um for wish I would go for one of two sports titles and either a um Gavin yourself and I talked

[29:44] about this actually I think it’s probably just like swinging back around to it be but it’d be a skateboarding game something something really really

[29:53] solid to the effect of skate like the skate franchise um so so just some really solid incredible skating game would be

[30:01] fantastic we love to see one of those again and I think I think I think it’s a great dad game too where it’s just get on flip around a whole bunch like on a

[30:10] skateboard and like jump out so it’s very sessionable yeah and I think that would be good or

[30:17] even something like um like another boxing game like we haven’t seen a box I was gonna say where is the boxing games anyway you and I are perfect you and I

[30:26] are just completely synced this week yeah that’ be a good VR Title Boxing game I was thinking about that I don’t know man I just like what you what you

[30:35] talking about like super out it’s exact same thing feels like a lot of energy lots of energy is that what you said yeah it was more I was more

[30:44] thinking about um it’s not so much like the actual NG because so much of boxing especially um when I I was last playing like final round or whatever they called

[30:54] it and so much of it like when you go far down into the left and swing around like I think that stuff would be kind of hard

[31:02] to deal with as far you’re sitting in your chair and you’re dipping that far like leaning back and then also but you’re not controlling your body because

[31:10] I think if they had you actually walking back and forth like there’d be a bunch of camera issues I’d be on the fence about it from a VR perspective I’d be

[31:18] really curious to try it yeah it would be tough too with like uh how would you do the screen shake when you get hit and not have to be too disorienting oh that

[31:29] feedback yeah because if he plows you and you’re supposed to look like far to the right but your actual head isn’t yeah that that like a blackout thing I

[31:39] think like you maybe blackout or maybe they would jolt you enough that you do it automatically you I

[31:46] mean so real your face naturally warnings they just they just hire somebody with like a foam Mallet just boom pound you on the head every

[31:58] time new peripheral just like those those boxing gloves on a spring from all the cartoons side actually just plows you

[32:35] was and they used all the engine that they already had and it was pristine it was amazing make a full game like that yeah so that that would be a killer

[32:44] right so like the an entire full deep fleshed out experience from VR in set in the Battlefront Universe like Rogue Squadron redo or something that would

[32:54] totally get people on board that could be an interesting see that’ be pretty good that’s a great there’s bound to be a bunch of Battlefront 2 um

[33:04] yeah I’ve been burned so I don’t know about that well you you bought it for full price right so it came at full price and

[33:12] it was just n that’ll go down as one of the worst I I love Jeff’s just sort of like well it’s your own fault yeah it’s you kind of did it to yourself I know I

[33:23] I should I don’t know what it was I don’t know how I got the demo was so good man my buddy and I had such an amazing time in it and just you bet on

[33:31] the wrong horse doesn’t mean have to drive to the drive to the glue factory like you know it’s the problem is like if it was a if

[33:40] it was for a physical disc for system I could have at least tried to sell it and get my money back but because it’s digital you’re stuck man you’re just

[33:48] like you own this forever this is yours enjoy I think that’s the thing too with um like going back to uh Final Fantasy and episodic

[33:59] and like people having patience um it’s having those moments of like I’m gonna wait a second I’m G see how the dust settles on this before I

[34:09] hop in or it’s like I’m gonna wait till they all come out like with Hitman it’s like I’m just gonna get the collection of all the episodes or like walking dead

[34:15] or something it’s there’s something to be said about being rewarded for patience um especially now with how games are coming out without much of a

[34:26] demo um not a lot of real solid facts in regards to their overall like quality of experience so people are kind of purchasing more and more blind now it’s

[34:36] like well if you wait you know there’s people out there like Trevor who will buy it for you and test it yeah and then let you know then tell you a sad story

[34:47] on the podcast about like everything that went wrong really like you’re doing you know the G community of service yeah exactly

[34:59] beta testing it that’s okay I’m doing I’m doing the dad Gaming Community of service hey hey dads this game a this is not defense like got a I got somebody I

[35:11] know who absolutely loves it they still play it you know so it’s there’s some people who really dig it but then yeah it it is an amazing I bought it for like

[35:21] $12 though so I won’t say it’s an $80 game but the graphics in it and the sound design and everything is totally Star Wars like they nailed it they just

[35:30] need more dep yeah I’ll give it that I swear I almost like feel like now boting it up just to like give itching it but like the um that and that

[35:43] was that was what I think was the most disappointing is that like they nailed so much of the aesthetic and the feeling and as you’re getting into the menus

[35:51] like the design of it was gorgeous and the as you mentioned the graphics were just Stellar like it was unbelievable what they pulled off and and sound

[35:59] designed even when you’re in the game playing it but then it’s just you know it probably a lot of it probably comes down to like I’m bad at these games you

[36:08] know what I mean and it just it was a little bit unforgiving which is f that’s a great experience for lots of people but it just meant that like okay drop in

[36:16] walk walk walk dead like yeah okay like 20 seconds drop in what dead it’s just like this is this is not like any of the movies I watched the the hero at least

[36:27] got to walk more than 10 Paces before dying see and maybe like later like another podcast the mechanic in Battlefront didn’t really work for me

[36:35] like as you get better you get more stuff so the newbies come in and they’re immediately dead right like it’s yeah I don’t know you get the better guns you

[36:43] get the better weapons Shields bullets everything and you’re like no no it should be like almost the reverse pression you should start with that and

[36:52] at least like you know I think that’s something that happens with online Shooters in general uh this might be something to chat about another time but

[37:00] that idea of like you want someone to feel like they’re growing and becoming more powerful but like you have to sort of matchmake things properly so that way

[37:08] you know there’s times where I was playing Call of Duty it’s just I couldn’t like I would go inside it was full of people with like shotguns and I

[37:16] go outside and there’s helicopters shooting at me from every direction yeah but I haven’t unlocked the shotgun yet and I can’t go and

[37:25] what’s going on and you just sort of feel like meat yeah it’s like you’re just Canon father for them you’re just like you’re

[37:35] just a give mxp that’s the only reason you’re there it’s just you’re you’re there for someone to shoot at um so yeah I think I don’t know maybe they need to

[39:30] next day and the other kids’s making fun of him it’s like your dad brush up now oh you know that’s gonna be a topic in the future of the

[39:39] show right like it’s so I got owned by my son’s friend the other day gota fight with his parents because I uh kind of threw him out of the house
