[0:08] so i go and they sleep and he’s just like they just like fast asleep and the one hand he’s got chase in the other hand

[0:14] he’s got like marshall he’s just like just switching them oh yeah they’re trying to like put him in the bed and like rock him but he’s got like

[0:22] these two trucks massive trucks in his hands like what is this like my youngest used to sleep well he still

[0:30] does he sleeps with books which doesn’t sound so bad but like he’d have a pile of books and then he’d have his face just kind of like wedged in the book and

[0:38] you wake up with like these lines and scratches from the book like yeah we can’t let’s put some stuffies on top of this at least

[0:46] looking at his face and reading a story to the other one hold still and then mr rabbit said [Music]

[1:01] the adult beverages are poor the kids are asleep welcome to new dad gaming show about fatherhood gaming and new fathers figuring out their gaming lives

[1:08] my name is trevor and i have a two-year-old and another on the way and i’m jeff i have a six and a half year old and a four-year-old

[1:17] it’s not like i just weird thought where it’s like four jesus almost like the kid is 18 or it’s like his

[1:26] wedding day and you go through the history of the show and you try to find like the nice moments like you know

[1:32] what’s so wonderful about being a dad yeah you need the montage like we’re sleeping here like four clips he’s fine i guess

[1:44] he went to bed i think no you just you need the magic of editing so you just edit the sentences that

[1:51] my life is great yeah it’s actually about final fantasy yeah what a great sun game the sun i mean

[1:59] so now i should almost like show almost a weekly affirmation about how wonderful they are yeah

[2:05] when run pro one positive thing in case the kid is listening you’re all right

[2:13] yeah you’re doing good son i’ll tell you when that’s not doing good though man forget paw patrol because

[2:20] just like that the mayor of foggy bottom should be in jail i agree i just so agree you know if it’s like classic cartoon

[2:31] up to no good nick fine like he spills oil on the road during a race all right but he just stole their car yeah it’s

[2:41] like a truck he just literal grand theft auto stole their car yeah and then at the end of like don’t do it again just put him

[2:50] in jail he’s going to do it again like i guarantee i’ll bet you money yeah next week

[2:58] just like there’s like two or three other times there’s just like legitimate crimes again it’s not even just like

[3:06] haha let the air out of your tires like it’s like ah set your brake lines hold on don’t do it

[3:16] again ugh yeah you took all the money out of your bank they just get that the one time he stole gold

[3:23] it’s like that’s theft over ten thousand like that’s yeah easily he’s just stealing your gold like that’s the man in jail he’s awful yeah

[3:34] it’s amazing what they can get away with and promote to kids really because if it’s in any sort of other show it just feels lazy it’s like okay in

[3:43] this episode he’s going to murder somebody you’re just like sure yeah and they’ll they’ll give them a

[3:51] good finger wagging they’ll just go on with everything really needed to get one member of the paw patrol out they just needed to get

[3:59] rid of that person this is how they did it just do it again in memory of skye

[4:08] they probably would too they didn’t they added a new one so they added everest yeah an extra female then it came time to add another one and as a dude like

[4:17] this uh one of the big ears like in that journey yeah or no i think he’s mexican oh i don’t know

[4:25] i haven’t been up with my paw patrol in a while so yeah oh god bless you for that man anyway

[4:31] how was your week in fatherhood and gaming uh mine was pretty good no paw patrol but um

[4:38] the kids um my youngest had his preschool graduation so that was an event that’s like i love that that’s a thing

[4:47] that’s the thing they do that they need a lot of did you have a graduation when you graduated from no i think i had like maybe an end uh song

[4:55] that we had to present or something like we put on a show to the parents and they had to do work yeah and i think it was more proof like

[5:02] hey we did teach them something like your money didn’t go to waste look they’re singing um but with this one it was uh it was a

[5:11] whole thing they had snacks chairs parents brought flowers for their kids it was just it was very we did not we did not do any

[5:19] of that yeah please just imagine like just like renting little suits for like 500 shots yeah no there were suits and bow

[5:30] ties and the girls were in like nice dresses and then you see my kid that we had to bring a change of clothes because i knew he would just have like sand and

[5:38] ketchup like hanging off his shirt just not up to standard on whatever would the smallies please come and

[5:46] collect their naked child from the front please uh sir can you just um step outside please we’re going to have the ceremony

[5:53] without your kid we’ll do that later just just take his diploma and get out of here sir you don’t want him to ruin the class

[5:59] pitcher so again that was okay it was uh he loved it that we were there early i think that was his

[6:06] main um takeaway that we came early for him and it was an early day and he was just over the moon for us to be there which is fun

[6:15] um whatever floats his boat in terms of gaming uh i picked up two games on sale um final fantasy 15. i got in and crashed

[6:30] [Music] a new one old golden the new it’s great yeah ratchet and clank great for the kids

[6:36] it’s really hard i don’t remember it being that hard i guess watching my uh almost seven-year-old play it he was getting turned around on

[6:44] some stuff but he liked it final fantasy 15 has been patched at the wazoo so it’s been a great experience how did i say that’s like what is that

[6:52] like a 30 gig it was a 17 gig patch that’s like there’s there’s internet packages anywhere from 10 to 20 gigs like that

[7:02] sure that’s your whole month blow it all away yeah yeah no i put it in i figured there would be a patch but i didn’t read up on what has been done and i just

[7:11] i put it in there and you could see the timer tick up like this is not going well so i walked away from it and came back

[7:18] but yeah it’s been great i don’t know it’s uh i think it’s addressed a lot of the criticisms that it’s had in the in the

[7:25] past and definitely i can see flaws in the story it’s not the strongest story but it’s very addictive like i don’t know what it is it’s all about

[7:33] teamwork and you taking on the world it’s it’s awesome bromance yeah i didn’t think i’d like that but they like high-five you mid-battle and then

[7:43] go back in and fight this demon i’m like i don’t know that was pretty cool thanks i am doing a good job keeping you suckers alive

[7:51] do you like the battle system i changed it so i don’t like the active um all the time but they have an active weight so if you stop moving it goes

[8:01] into a turn based so you can immediately just stop your character if you stop your character the whole screen kind of grays out it shows

[8:08] you where the enemies are kind of like find a final fantasy 12 where it has the lines so everything stops moving you do have a

[8:15] timer which is ridiculously long so it’s like 30 seconds but you can prep your healing potions and spells and you don’t control

[8:23] any of the other characters but you kind of give them direction so you can do all that and that has helped me so much because otherwise i find i’m walking in

[8:31] and just mashing buttons and trying to kill whatever and hitting everything i can and then wasting all my items because i just go

[8:39] nuts i think that would geez that might do well for me because i love i think 12 has been one of my favorite systems besides like a very classic yep rpg

[8:47] system if you’re that’s the kind of mood you’re in but like yeah i love that system in 12. i thought that was just fantastic and just

[8:54] felt like it was still natural for exploring too because as opposed to running around and then like you’re ripped out of

[9:01] yeah and it has a new screen and yeah this is just like you just like all of a sudden lines start going off and you guys naturally do what they’re

[9:08] supposed to do yeah that continual optimization of it around like okay then you do this and then you do this yeah it’s pretty cool that way and it’s

[9:16] it instills a fear in you i have never traveled at night in that game because it’s like don’t go out at night the demons come in i’m like whatever this is

[9:23] final fantasy and you go and my god these huge like beasts come out and you’re totally under leveled in the beginning

[9:31] so you’re you’re just afraid for your life you’re like i need to get back to wherever like a camp i think you save at

[9:37] a camp uh before sundown and you’re really like stressed out to get there you’re like i need to get somewhere where i’m safe

[9:44] that’s awesome jeez but it’s neat that way and i find that a lot of people complain about how you only level when you rest

[9:51] i kind of like that um so you don’t level up during the battle but you gain experience and then you have to go and either camp out or go

[9:57] to a motel and that’s when you get all your stats up upgraded so i don’t know it’s kind of a different way to push you forward

[10:06] um i don’t know i’m i’m licking it so 30 bucks say wrong

[10:12] man that does sound great lead it’s just timing actually oh no yeah it’s a huge like it’s it’s

[10:20] is it your 2017 game this is a little closer it might be it might just continue on while the games are on top so we’ll

[10:29] see you no that’s not a damn thing try to get your kid to sleep and that’s about it all right yeah putting a foot

[10:37] in baby to sleep now with the um the work and everything else and still just have really been uh too busy the only thing i dipped into a little bit

[10:44] was uh trying to get through trying to finish uncharted four oh yeah yeah so just coming to the tail half and like

[10:53] man that game still just looks like gorgeous it’s hard to believe it exists like it really it’s just how did they do this like the

[11:02] story is just like the how detailed each level every little part of the world is and then like you’re only in this

[11:10] section or like this town for a split second sometimes and you’re just like what somebody like spend months and

[11:18] then some of the dialogue tough to or like the the it’s kind of like you get this extra choice of dialogue yeah where like if you get to a

[11:24] particular section or you catch a character in a moment you can engage with them around that moment and i’ll just like naturally

[11:31] it all kind of goes in and there’s so many cases too where the cutscene will end and then your guy’s just standing there

[11:36] because the game just looks like the cut scenes yeah yeah and you’re just playing a cutscene so you’re like oh i’m supposed

[11:43] to move you’re done that’s incredible after you’re done you need to go search a youtube video on the 20 things you missed

[11:50] and it’s just silly little details that like when drake gets into a car he hops over and places his gun on the seat and then

[11:59] puts his hands on the steering wheel it’s not like he just jumps in the car and that’s the animation and like little thing like the speedometer works and his

[12:06] watch tells the time like ridiculous little things that you never know man i was just uh it’s so exciting in

[12:14] some ways like to be able to play games in an age where that thing exists it’s just yeah man i think um be on your phone in 10

[12:21] years i can’t wait finally have you seen anything in the i haven’t really checked them yet uh

[12:31] probably will i get i like to torture myself and just purchase games i’ll never actually play but i mean like the

[12:38] especially now because like yeah the countdown’s on my the death of my gaming but it’s this steam summer sales on

[12:47] yes that’s true yes i have not but i’ve not looked at it yet just like i don’t know if you have like have you checked out or well i i get the

[12:55] email notifications saying hey something’s on sale from your wishlist i’m like i can’t look at that there’s no way i can like shadow a mortar i think

[13:04] it’s like four dollars yeah that was just like that the world is just yelling at me to get that game like that’s just that’s that’s the next skyrim as far as

[13:12] like look this game it’s the world coming here and say look this game is fit

[13:20] the price of a latte would you please just pick it up just put it in your backlog forget about it whatever at least it’s off your list

[13:28] it’s there if you want it but anymore a couple of those yeah they look interesting but again i’m just trying to stop i can’t

[13:36] i can’t do it but mortar would be a good one and there’s a couple others that are um kicking around but i think they’re all

[13:42] indie titles that i was looking into um yeah most things like i mean no man’s sky i think dropped down to like 18

[13:49] bucks like yeah way down um it’s a couple of racing ones like it it’s just yeah like across the board

[13:56] like again it’s just absurdity like so on and now now playstation 2 like that they’ve followed suit as far as

[14:03] like the same time frame i think they have a bunch of deals going on yeah they had like two sets of specials on it it’s like the days of e3 and then like

[14:12] double ps plus discounts so everyone’s just throwing sales at you

[14:18] just here’s what you can play for the summer go go for it like yeah like which is basically my month left because the other thing too is we have

[14:27] um we’re hoping to have uh my wife’s parents come up and help us with the birth yeah uh just doing some physical

[14:34] last just yeah hold us both like cradle us as we’re cradling the baby

[14:42] this is awkward yeah i’d take it man i’m going to sleep in someone’s home i don’t care

[14:49] the so just working through some logisticals and see if we can make it happen but when they do

[14:54] it’s just going to be a space consideration thing i don’t think what would be my main gaming area will turn into the

[15:01] bedroom and i don’t know if i set up a new gaming area with with the real approach to the fact

[15:07] that i’m not gonna have time anyways right so it’s just like so july really is like the last bastion

[15:16] before for possibly doing anything that’s it that’s a good this is your time and i’m so

[15:24] just busy it’s like there’s stuff to do with it i’d i’d like to i should really break it break a little chunks to ensure

[15:33] like there’s just at least like that hour a week i mean and not to put salt in your wound

[15:40] i will say that this is one of the better parts of vr oh yeah yeah where

[15:45] because the time my time especially right now is so tiny yeah like to have like that is the experience i

[15:52] get to have where it’s not just you know i play like a race or like a ten minutes of uncharted three it’s like you’re putting on this helmet and you’re in

[16:01] this world yeah you’re just entirely immersed so like you’re that tiny little window you have yeah is spent just in the utmost

[16:11] escaping reality yeah completely like in the absolute pinnacle of like what gaming has tried to represent and there’s like the game’s

[16:20] coming over here right now nuts there’s so many so that one has been great what was i going to say the only thing was

[16:27] that like there’s two here in toronto there’s two vr game rooms that have opened up what yes you can you just go to you go to

[16:36] these places and you pay i guess some amount for an hour and then you just like they got the whole set up so you just like toss on the helmet they got

[16:43] this one where it’s like actually like a whole racing like big wheel they get everything ready to go oh that’d be awesome and there’s two that’s

[16:49] open up one in kind of a market nearby and another on a street like within call like 10 minutes of walking distance to each other wow

[16:58] no that would be totally down for that yeah get my fix let’s say come on downtown get your vr fix come on the uh so switch quickly with the the

[17:08] big news coming out today was nintendo has confirmed that they will be releasing an snes mini oh my god yes

[17:17] i think i said this last time that when the s nes launched i was like yeah it’s okay i would i’d get one but if they launched a super nintendo one i’m

[17:26] down that’s perfect it was such a good console so many good games i’m excited there is like what do you

[17:34] think of the game list like it seems to me it seems like they nailed they nailed a lot like they had a lot of the big players on there i’m surprised

[17:42] at all the licensing that went down with that um like mario world mario kart uh final fantasy 3 which is six

[17:50] so even having that um super punch-out i loved i just didn’t even look at that donkey kong donkey kong

[17:58] f-zero mario kart zero f-zero secret world of mana zelda they had um zelda that’s a that’s a huge win that’s fantastic that game holds up yeah still

[18:10] street fighter they have street you could buy this console for less than it costs in the like switch version like i heard that one was like ridiculously

[18:19] priced so even having small fighters and insane when i couldn’t believe like the one of what i think is probably one of

[18:28] my more charming games i’ve ever played was um super mario rpg yes yes i can’t believe they put that in like that’s such a

[18:35] such a sleeper hit yeah i’m surprised that that one actually and to switch that with like stars or something like i didn’t think they would

[18:43] i didn’t think they’d go rpg instead of doing super mario all-stars or some other rpg but well that’s a good welcome one and

[18:50] star fox obviously with number one and two yeah who knows what if it’s maybe it’s a lie like there never was star fox 2. they

[19:00] just built it especially for this yeah that’s it you’re telling me that they built this entire game

[19:07] and just never drop it yeah who knows um super metroid i’ve been wanting to replay that forever

[19:15] and i’ve never had a good emulator that really worked well so uh the only one i think i could see online that people were complaining

[19:22] about was like act razor and um chrono trigger they don’t have those

[19:29] chrono trigger wasn’t on there no which it’s on ios i’m playing it now it’s pretty cool but yeah it would be nice to have it on

[19:37] the box man i gotta get the uh yeah i can get my mobile game going on because that’s like for the night so i’m

[19:44] just like sitting there sleeping or sorry when i’m not sleeping trying to get this baby to sleep this big glow of light from your phone

[19:52] or your tablet just i just need a game a little bit man that was like uh i remember at the time i did some

[19:59] hearthstone which is always just like super risky because you’re in a match and somehow to the baby it’s like all right well i’m out of

[20:07] this match bye there goes my record undefeated no wouldn’t i kill i remember playing the heck out of um 80 days

[20:16] around the world yep i remember you mentioning that one that was just a blast but if you have yeah if you have like a slow burn rpg it might that might

[20:24] just fit to take it yeah yeah man yes that the same time too like just as far as

[20:30] emulator it’s almost do you remember like walking through malls like call it like five years ago

[20:38] and there’s guys selling little plastic consoles that had like a thousand games on it yeah and like you know

[20:46] it’s just like you know 100 games in one or whatever you’re like yeah yeah which is like 80 80 ones of garbage yeah of course yeah

[20:54] so you you were just saying like what is the like how many games is that like 20 games so they included

[21:00] yeah 20 plus the star fox one so it seems like i don’t know it’s such a small like why the limit true because they could probably put the

[21:09] entire list on the hard drive or with the flash drive that they got going on i’m just sure

[21:15] it’s licensing or just maybe they’re doing super nintendo do i don’t know um can you imagine like so like in front of your tv is just like

[21:24] seven yeah yeah i would totally not do that but i don’t know it’s something that’s pulling me towards this one it’s just those are

[21:36] 20 great games and it’s kind of wanting like i want to expose my kids to those two

[21:42] because they like my oldest has a jew or he has zelda on it on his 3ds right now but to play the original which was just i don’t know

[21:52] i don’t want to say it was better it was just the start of what i got into and that’s that one is just man it’s perfect and just like the style

[22:01] of it too it’s like it still just holds up like it’s so yeah it’s just charming like it looks great it plays amazing yeah

[22:08] if all that is solved and it’s on your hd tv yeah but no but no nhl game no no sports i guess people would just be

[22:17] laughing at the teams that were hartford whalers yeah yeah or the game breaking bugs where you just do a wrap around and score each

[22:26] time that was the best part though especially when playing someone else because then your buddy goes for it you know what

[22:31] he’s doing so you gotta rush back your goalie would be out in the middle of nowhere for whatever reason yeah i was like that’s just too bad i

[22:39] wish they it’s probably more than anything it’s probably like you said like licensed licensing i can’t imagine he

[22:45] would let that slide you can imagine this thing had man like nhl 95 nba jam

[22:53] nba jam i would love and you imagine seeing an nba jam like that would be fun and i i that doesn’t even have to have real teams that was just fun to play

[23:01] that was ridiculous man so many it’s not real like teenage ninja teenage ninja mutant teenage

[23:10] mutant ninja turtles sorry you got there twice yeah what is it that

[23:17] something in a shell in time or um turtles in time i think it was four turtles in time yeah that one would be good too that was incredible

[23:25] it feels like you could add another 10 easy to really fight for yeah but then in addition you could probably have another 20.

[23:31] so right it’s just a different slope of other games i’ll be curious to see what happens i

[23:40] just wonder if there’s gonna be some ill will because of the first one there will be come on hold on like production yeah

[23:48] like they won’t produce enough i think they’ve gone on record saying they are producing more but

[23:53] nothing in 2018. so it’s the same one what is what are they doing like it’s one and done because what they’ve said

[24:01] is that they want to pro promote the switch so they want the focus on the switch so i guess they don’t want this thing fighting at christmas

[24:08] with the switch which i could see but you’ve got this whole other market i don’t think i’d

[24:14] ever really buy a switch just for cost but if i had the option of this other thing i’m down here sale

[24:24] let’s make it available man the uh i held myself back from the switch some days so just like it looks

[24:31] just the portable part is just like that’s so awesome that’s up your alley right now like you could go under a blanket and just

[24:39] your own virtual reality again the console that’s what i have to um yes i have to convince myself i was just like it’s not about me it’s about

[24:47] helping with the baby right needed something to do yeah no but uh geez like yeah like having having this

[24:55] thing and being able to run your kid through that gamut like that those classics which is probably like

[25:02] more engrossing than the nes ones dns ones are like cute and kind of fun but they’re very yeah quick

[25:09] okay like not a lot of depth to them right yeah not a lot of color right it’s not very interesting too so it’s these snes ones man if you could put

[25:19] your kid through zelda like if if they could survive metroid yeah like uh donkey kong oh no yeah donkey kong i was more gonna say mario kart

[25:29] mario kart is so fun that was a great version mario kart oh good and no blue shells so we’re good no nonsense just pure yeah just gaming

[25:39] mario kart yeah oh they didn’t do bomberman that was another one people were talking about but they realized that yeah

[25:47] you had that multi-tap accessory remember that where you would plug into four controllers so you’d have to

[25:54] be you’d have to do something you couldn’t form your goal against bomberman did mario kart have four

[26:01] players i can’t remember i only remember two but i only played with my brother really so i’m not sure if there’s more yeah obviously in 64 did because that

[26:11] was yeah that was awesome because you had four that’s the next one just to wait next year and then you’ll get the

[26:18] and 64. okay that one would be that number as far as like having a

[26:28] home console that geez like home console you can have friends over with everybody to play goldeneye mario kart just

[26:36] um super smash brothers yep that that would be done that they better make millions of them i think that one that’s the apex of it i

[26:47] think it seems like whenever they’re in trouble a little bit and they just want to print money they just press the button and just make a classic console

[26:54] hey hey reggie do you want uh 50 mil yeah it goes like that’s it ship them out

[27:04] how far is it going to be a mini game cube a mini wii u yeah it’s already ready to go it’s just

[27:10] just like the the little new the wii u controllers like this big touch screen and everything that’s where technology goes too that’s

[27:19] it all right so you’re in you’re a buy if i can get one yes i’m not paying a

[27:25] ridiculous ebay price there’s no i’m not down for that i’m a dad with some responsibilities so i will pay for college

[27:36] original price in jefferson you’re not sure no just it’s just another system and like i have

[27:46] you have so many systems i have something like these like the uh shield the nvidia shield oh right yeah right which is just like it’s a portable

[27:56] thing and it totally runs emulators fine like it had been playing um literally final fantasy 3 on it right so it’s like

[28:05] i just i can’t do it i don’t think the n6 the n64 i would the only thing i can’t imagine is like the

[28:14] the snes and the nes controllers make sense yeah as far as reproducing because it’s small relatively what what the heck would you

[28:21] do i was afraid to say i’m like it’s like this winged monstrosity of i don’t know people are used to it but oh it works fine once you get into it

[28:30] but as far as like reproducing those yeah like that would be weird and they’re big looks

[28:35] huge remember like the rumble pack that you’d have to oh just like introduce your kids into that this is what daddy came with and it’s

[28:44] just huge like piloting a machine with oh and it’s an extra like extra batteries and like yeah there’s

[28:52] one like there’s a remember there’s one game because i have it in 64. and i have perfect dark for it or

[29:00] yeah except it doesn’t play because you need like a special expansion to go into your controller before you can play yeah so it doesn’t

[29:08] let you play it it’s like where’s your where’s your expansion pack i’m like i don’t got one it’s just they’re taunting you

[29:15] hey come on do it why don’t you plug me alrighty well expect in future a couple streaming

[29:24] episodes of uh review of snes better be there if nintendo’s listening you know where to find me just send it along you got my number pass the ball

[29:32] yeah when is the launch date it’s end of september isn’t it and it’s september yeah so hopefully all the kids are at school they don’t know what it is and i

[29:38] can go over there jesus that absolutely competes at christmas yeah it will like unless they sell out

[29:48] in like a few weeks and it’s done by the end of october i don’t know which knowing that maybe that’s the plan

[29:54] just like it’s one week of sales and just nothing but ebay after that yeah just sell it all year round and then you don’t have that problem whatever and the

[30:02] promise two people gonna buy like seven so they could try to sell it online that’s yeah and i can totally see that happening and

[30:09] somehow they have to limit that i don’t know yeah they i hope they approach it smart because yeah that was that’s such a

[30:14] lousy backlash off the first and that’s just a shame well yeah just make every store well i guess you can’t say what stores can sell but you can just say one

[30:22] per person and it just makes it that much harder come back with two guys

[30:33] i like to buy another nintendo police sir no your kids will come in handy this is you send them the kids in take this take this crisp hundred dollar

[30:40] bill and walk over to that man i’m piggy back and like a trench coat and there it is wobbling in pay no attention to the man on the coat

[30:49] they get distracted they buy pokemon anyway it wouldn’t make sense there’s a hundred dollars worth of candy damn it come on

[30:57] go back again what is that water guns come on nerf guns that would be a good skit though because

[31:08] that’s totally what would happen they go in get distracted i’d be yelling from like out in the parking lot yeah the best part like you start the

[31:15] skit saying i refuse to pay 600 on ebay meanwhile you spend like at least 700 way more trying to get them to do what i want
