A Gaming Space for Kids and Dad – Gaming Dad Victory of the Week #82

[0:01] [Music] for this week’s gaming dad victory so we’ve been messaging back and forth with this person and the way it’s gone we

[0:17] this literally could be its own podcast there was just so many amazing gaming dad moments that came out from our conversations with the gaming dad of the

[0:30] week so I digress the gaming dad victory of the week goes to Alfred now Jeff to the start everything off if I could have you go ahead and describe the photo that

[0:39] he posted which should be very near and dear to your heart and it’s very close this is it’s a basement gaming center we have a nice screen TV two little boys

[0:55] sitting on a couch both controllers blue which means they’re on the same team in a game of rocket League so perfect home to start them off my kids probably

[1:07] didn’t fare this well it looks like they were you know having a great time my kids have a difference between what their favorite color is so it’s always

[1:17] blue against red and that creates some tension just before they even pick up the controller it’s you’re they’re already going at it yeah so this looks

[1:26] like a perfect scene where they’re enjoying it it looks like they’re having a great time they’re in the zone like they’re strategizing in the game of

[1:36] rocket League perfect I enjoy this photo immensely this is this is where it’s at this is the dad gaming moment passing good along the

[1:44] torch I understand to see like two of your boys like participating this game and whether it’s like cooperatively as you mentioned they’re on the same team

[1:52] or like against each other even like the thought that you could pass on the hobby to the both of them and then have that self-contained enjoyment like that is

[2:01] fantastic but you could turn around and there’s no yelling at least it was a little bit until one of them scores yeah

[2:08] oh the so what do you see on the left side of the screen they see you know what he didn’t have to mention that you know he Trevor seems to you know drum up

[2:18] some old wounds pour some salt in there there’s a VR headset on yes we are game and in addition to the VR we have the Farpoint game controller mmm next to it

[2:32] and you know I just kind of want to be in this life right now I’m just kind of live there for a little bit looks a little ideal doesn’t yeah it

[2:38] does you know there’s PlayStation posters a beer posters this is great oh so like I said so this photo alone when we came across it was just an immediate

[2:48] like yes this this is the gaming dead victory of the week but like it in conversation like this got so much better so some quick background on

[2:57] alfrid who in his words has quote a gorgeous wife named Sophia so he’s repping the missus there yet well played so those are two of four kids oh wow

[3:12] that is yeah so I think the Bravo I must say Bravo you got two that are calm and then two other ones that are doing whatever behind you yeah right so look

[3:27] it’s just like no one’s saying doing yeah yeah yeah so for I just man like powerful it’s a can just say I’m gonna put float that out there and let it like

[3:40] sink in for everyone for a moment no I don’t want to think it no not going to for your brave man offered brave so he’s yeah so ps4 gamer of course you

[3:51] saw the PSV are a no man’s sky lover so man after my own heart indeed you sitting all the button thing alright this is like yeah it’s like is

[4:02] he just a gaming dad victory or the audition auditioning for a part on the show it’s just like yeah I don’t know Jeff you might be cut

[4:10] I don’t have to tell you I know by all means this guy has it all so you can just pass it along so so it continues so so within with it the psvr he often

[4:23] plays spark so then he plays it at least on the daily so he does it for a workout a good stress relief which is like I really need to get into this game I have

[4:33] it I got I owned a thing yeah I kind of move I really should and it’s fun it really is quite amazing what these guys did so they all kind of come across it

[4:43] let’s see the so two other so in addition to all of this already like it just keeps getting stuck we got two other real great gems of gaming stories

[4:52] involving his kids so in in that same base when he hooks up an old NES to a small screen in the gaming room right so Mario and done hunt yeah so the little

[5:04] one the four-year-old he just loves it right now the older brother he’s got it we used so he’s not really paying attention to it so much but meanwhile

[5:13] Alfred is playing with his four-year-old and he’s showing of all the secrets all the tricks of Mario right so and the kid is loving and he’s taking it all in

[5:20] right now it’s exactly right and now all of a sudden do you older one starts to get a little interested in it like wants to play a little bit wants to go into it

[5:31] right and at some point when he’s playing he’s like Oh dad you know where are the warp levels I said so dad look to him and says I’ll go ask your little

[5:41] brother

[5:47] so the way that he tells the older brother just loses his game or face so quick the thought of the whole the younger brother being the better gamer

[5:57] on this particular games way to split the power and just balance that you know you have to work together now don’t be too high a mighty on your gaming skills

[6:09] like I’m gonna come up quick go ask your little brother Oh savor it that is perfect I never thought of that before something I could implement now

[6:20] oh yeah load up the little guy with a bunch of tricks and just wait so in addition to coming back to the dynamic the width

[6:29] rocket League the older one plays pretty straightforward trying to win off it goes the little one apparently just kind

[6:37] of takes for a Tony Hawk angle like he likes to roam around do jumps he’s just trying to have a plasma blast that way totally makes sense the older brother

[6:47] teaches them how to do an explosion collision okay so of course now yeah the only thing he wants to do is they stab his brother’s car he’s on the same team

[7:00] and cause the explosion to just throw him off the map so this picture is just a moment in time before some of that stuff happens oh yes and the old ones

[7:11] probably saying like don’t do it don’t do and again the quote the quote around it comes the older brother hates it and with each success comes this mr. burns

[7:23] style evil laugh that’s a lot that is it it is just everything I mean it’s there’s all this good nature ribbing and fun with

[7:40] the kids playing like it it’s a beacon of hope if you don’t think like it he’s a lot they’re taking it all in taking notes over there yeah but yep but it was

[7:52] an absolute honor to get to know Alfred a little bit over the last while and clearly he is well deserving of the gaming dad victory of the week kudos
