[0:10] well so this week gaming dead victory of the week goes to gaming dead end who wish to remain anonymous but he had this amazing

[0:20] reddit post where it was a throwback to a simpler time when people used to write letters on

[0:28] paper see you used to cut down trees and then take that pulp and then put it onto actual paper so the

[0:35] story goes that the gaming i can first read the title from the post itself which was the my kid plays plants vs

[0:44] zombies for xbox he wanted to tell them he likes the game so provided him some guidance and an address to send them a letter

[0:52] they wrote back to him and sent him even a free bumper sticker that’s so cool so it’s amazing so the kid liked the game and he wanted to tell

[1:00] them like man i really like this game and the the gaming dad had the wherewithal to say why don’t we

[1:07] show their appreciation by actually writing a letter to them and just say like you know thanks for this wonderful game and then they actually wrote back

[1:13] they wrote back this great letter and i’ll i’ll try to give that a really quick read here so hello uh child’s name crazy dave is busy

[1:21] fighting zombies but he wanted me to tell you that he got your letter he was so happy to hear from you and he was happy to hear you prefer our games

[1:28] over fortnite he does too [Laughter] yes he’s glad that you chose us to

[1:35] practice your letter writing skills you did a really good job and it’s very well organized with great questions we got the name because our three young

[1:41] founders liked the word pop and cap and gave it a nostalgic feel that they also like and put it together it’s short easy to remember now that was

[1:48] the easy part coding does take a long time but it’s always fun to manage a company that makes games stay curious and keep practicing your

[1:55] letter writing you have a great future ahead thank you for writing to us gal from the head

[2:01] zombie wrangler so that came from pop cap so and you know obviously we’re talking about gaming dead victory but kudos to

[2:09] pop cap yeah really that’s really nice to kind of reach out to fans so and also send a little bumper sticker imagine being the kid receiving that

[2:17] yeah it’s like gaming santa and you mean like they write you back like whoa they noticed me right

[2:24] it’s just and in character too like the date date like crazy dave is busy with zombies like just totally in character so so the uh

[2:33] so the gaming down himself a few more words from them and i really appreciated his approach to gaming in many ways his

[2:40] response to when i reached out to ask if we could feature the story was uh kind of the thesis of the show of this very show about the positivity

[2:48] that can come from dads playing games with their kids so you know i’ll read it back to it so first

[2:55] uh when i first asked him about it uh do you mind if i you know share the post he goes i asked my son he said he’s fine with it

[3:01] i asked him if he wants to share his gamer tag or anything he said a resounding no so good man on the sun too not that’s a

[3:10] smart kid yeah like you know what that’s fine i’ll just i’m going to keep quiet and just enjoy my game so

[3:16] great respect to that but he goes on to write i found gaming with my kids to be extremely positive and i’ve noticed

[3:22] other parents that are clueless about gaming to be less informed about their kids lives all and almost disconnected we’ve had

[3:29] some of our favorite moments of our lives staying up late playing halo or other games or years ago just mind crafting until

[3:36] our eyes closed on their own man like sign up for me as i i cannot wait for those moments i’m so excited so he

[3:45] goes on i’ve coached everything from kindergarten basketball to high school football and i found that gaming builds

[3:51] a very similar relationship between kids as sports do there are obviously some bad seeds online that i’ve come across which is scary as a parent but that’s

[3:59] exactly why parents need to get involved rather than just limiting screen time if you play you know what’s going on

[4:08] and you get to spend quality time with your kids yes perfect way to sum up this channel and just that bonding element right

[4:17] and that’s what we’ve been trying to get across yeah so that and even the and and more than just you know kind words that he said you can see how he

[4:26] uh takes on the excitement the enjoyment of this medium as far as games and then he extends it to good life lessons about you know let’s

[4:33] write a letter let’s you know participate in communication with somebody let’s send it out

[4:39] and then you know to show appreciation i appreciated your thing here’s me saying so right so i mean an active man of the community as far as

[4:47] coaching and everything else like that active within his son’s lives for gaming within it and then man getting crazy dave to send him back

[4:56] a letter from popcap like absolutely stunning like so enthused with this um story top to bottom so
